We recently visited Annie's Café in Moreno Valley, and overall, we had a great breakfast experience. Inside is very spacious and welcoming with plenty of tables and booths. The only downside was our initial interaction with the host. My mother-in-law wanted to put our name down for the waitlist, but for some reason, she wasn't allowed to at that moment because we were still outside the building. It was a little frustrating and felt unnecessary, so hopefully that's something that can be improved. Once we were seated, everything got much better. Our waiter was fantastic he was friendly, polite, attentive, and very helpful throughout the meal. I ordered the chilaquiles with steak and substituted the beans for hash browns. I was honestly skeptical because I had seen mixed reviews online, but I ended up really enjoying them. The sauce had great flavor with a mild kick of spice. I can understand why some people mention a lemon taste because it's definitely noticeable, but I thought it worked well overall. The steak itself was a little bland and could use more seasoning, but the chilaquiles sauce helped bring everything together. The biscuits and gravy were phenomenal. The biscuits were warm, soft, and fresh, and the gravy was packed with flavor. We also ordered the French toast breakfast, which was amazing. The French toast had so much flavor, and my man absolutely loved it. My kids enjoyed their pancake breakfast, and I appreciated being able to order a side of strawberries for my daughter. To top it off, I tried the Crème Brûlée latte, and it was delicious. Despite the rough start with the host, the food, coffee, and excellent service from our waiter made for a really enjoyable breakfast. I'd definitely come back and would recommend giving Annie's Café a try. read more

The service was there. It's a middle morning Tuesday. Only seen the server once to take the order and then another who brought food. That was it. No one was rude. The food, hit and miss. A typical American breakfast wasn't too bad. You can't really mess up a typical American breakfast (a pancake, hash brown, eggs, bacon, sausage) hash brown did taste like it's been sitting there. Now the "south of the border" I DO NOT recommend the chilaquiles. Maybe it was a bad batch. It's in a green sauce and it tasted beyond tangy. Definitely had some lemon juice in there. It was not enjoyable. Since the sauce drenches the rest of the plate, everything else (beans and egg) tasted like lemon too. It was topped with some Carnitas (+$4 extra for meat) and even some of it tasted too much like lemon. The restaurant itself, doesn't look bad inside. All wooden. Spacious. Its giving a giant cabin vibe. I would definitely come back still but I have learned a lesson that the south of the border selection here, leave it alone. Don't bother ordering from it. The coffee was great though. I don't think they do refills though. I didn't see a server often to ask. read more

I would ask Yoli's in Riverside to read this!!! Tried Annie's for the first time and the Moreno Valley store#3 excels in service!!!! A short wait in busy restaurant is no problem especially when you are seated then served promptly. I'm not a picky eater, when order eggs over easy I appreciate them showing up that way, when they don't I feel like it's necessary to mention it! I did and our waitress immediately said "I got you" before I could say another word walked away and back in a flash with a fresh plate and complete order of eggs made perfectly! Other business owners should take notice to this! Not only did Breana take charge to ensure I had what I wanted but checked in on our entire meal and satisfaction. Truly a professional at accessing a situation and rectifying without question. I would recommend this store as her and teammates were all positive and friendly making for a great experience and atmosphere throughout the restaurant. So it was totally the misters idea to come here. This use to be the old hooters and now we have this nice little breakfast/brunch spot, that I might add is always packed. Our service was great, wait not too long, and the food very good. I must have been really hungry because I forgot to take pictures of our food. Both entrees were tasty, coffee cake slice was very cakey and much smaller than expected, especially given the upcharge. Comes with some entertainment as the staff did a dance show. Plenty of free parking. Pay by phone feature available. Sort of set back location in a deserted strip mall. read more

Decided to try this place out on a Friday afternoon, it was pretty busy so I was hopeful that it meant good food and service. We were greeted right away and seated in an area that was near to where the servers pass through which was fine but left little to the ambiance. Our waitress was friendly enough but weird for her to assist us and then sit next to a couple across from us to chat. I ordered the bangers and mash, both were really good. Prices are a bit on the steep side in my opinion but that may be the norm now with everything going up in price. We asked for our check and noticed the total to be a bit high and realized the items were incorrect and the check was not ours. We alerted the server and she had to create a new check, not really sure what was going on there with that but maybe she was too distracted by her company to accurately settle our table. read more

We always love trying new breakfast restaurants and when we heard this one opened up, we just had to try it. We got there around 8am and there was no wait at all (on Memorial Day), which was perfect because it did start to pick up around 9am. We were immediately sat and greeted by our server! Our server was quick to bring our drinks and was also really kind to give us all the time we needed to look over the menu. She was really great, though, as it got busier, we did see her less and less. We each ordered something different: deep fried Monte Cristo sandwich, double whammy, totally cheesy omelette (with bell peppers), and ham & eggs breakfast plate. Each item was really good! The home fried potatoes were really delicious, I wish I had gotten them over the hash browns!!! The only thing that was a little disappointing (at least for us) was that the totally cheesy omelette only had some slices of cheese on the outside, rather than inside. It could've really just been scrambled eggs with cheese on top. Also, when our biscuit came out, it was room temperature (not warm), and that was a little disappointing because warm biscuits are the best! Nevertheless, we had a great time! Quirky Brunch Spot with a Slight British Twist in Southeast Riverside When you walk into this cafe, you can't help but notice the fantastic wood interior. But then the Union Jack and the fine pastoral paintings, the fake suit of armor all make you realize this ain't your ordinary breakfast joint. It's Annie's from Temecula, and now the British fab fusion has invaded the Riverside area. We came in on a Saturday, and while busy, we got seated right away. Here's what's good: The Winston. Classic semi-full English breakfast minus the black pudding (sad face for not having it) but the addition of potatoes (I got the hash browns). Sausage was big and snappy on the casing, great flavor, which went well with the tomato flavoring of the typical canned baked beans. The back bacon was super salty and paired well with the mushrooms, which were barely seasoned to offset the saltiness. Came with choice of toasted bread, and I got the English muffins, which you can tell are made from scratch here. Best English muffin you ever had: soft and chew with a slight crust, and lacking much the bitter flavor typical for this; comes with butter soaked right in and, as always, goes well with my favorite orange marmalade. Best hearty breakfast platter, and a must order. Sourdough bread. So good! Not too sour like typical sourdough. Also came with butter soaked in on the one side. A definite recommend. Biscuits and gravy. Biscuits are slightly sweeter than typical. And the gravy is spot on: not too overpowering and savory, but just right amount so you keep coming back for more. You only get 2 biscuits for this side order, and they aren't too thick like most places. Definite recommend. Overall, a great experience with great food and attentive service. If it's your first time, they offer to put some hats on you for a dance challenge, too: if you can keep them on during your meal, the servers do a dance, but if you take them off, you have to dance. We kept them on, and so all the servers actually did a coordinated team dance, and if was a hilariously good time! Annie's Cafe is the newest restaurant to open in southeast Riverside on Valley Springs Parkway - just east of the 215 freeway and south of the 60 freeway (bordering Riverside and Moreno Valley). It is located in the building that used to occupy Hooter's so the layout is very spacious and open. I came out here for breakfast with a small group. We were greeted at the door and immediately shown to our table. Annie's Cafe has an extensive menu offering not just breakfast items but also brunch and lunch items. For breakfast, I ordered a Hobo Skillet, which has a little bit of everything mixed with scrambled eggs. It came with a side of biscuits. My skillet was a little heavy on the potatoes and too easy on the bacon, ham and sausage. I wish it were a little more balanced. I ordered a Coffee Cake to go and it was good. The atmosphere was lively for a Saturday morning and we were entertained by the staff dancing to Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop the Feeling". I'm not sure if they dance everyday or every weekend or since they recently opened up but it definitely made for a unique experience. The service was okay. They got one of party's order wrong so she got her food a little later than everyone else's. And the first server brought out the wrong food items. They must have mixed us up with another table. A little mishap but I'm sure it's because they're still working out the new business kinks. Overall, the food was good and we liked the big open space to enjoy our breakfast. This is a cute cafe in what used to be Hooters. They have a large food selection to choose from. It's a nice cafe and are open until the early afternoon. Perfect for breakfast and lunch. My family and I came here for the first time. We are always hesitant about trying something new because our kiddo is on the spectrum. We don't know how she would react to new places and different food choices. However, Breana our server made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. We told her about our daughter's sensitivity to textures and she went above and beyond to make sure her needs were met. Recommended different plates and side dishes for her. Understood the importance of making sure our kiddo was well. And the dishes my husband and I got were also incredibly delicious. We will be coming here more often. The oatmeal was a substantial portion and although the burrito was big I was up to the task today. 4 stars because my wife wouldn't let Breana gather the group to sing for her birthday! Wow! I got seated at the bar and was greeted with a friendly waitress with a welcoming smile. I ordered the Chilaquiles ( no meat) & it came with beans. I normally do not eat beans BUT these beans were light, and moist ( beans are mostly served dried or with no taste) and these beans were delicious. OVERALL: 5/5 I give this plate. The staff all had smiles, the cooks were busy and yet I still caught a smile here n there. ( my photo missed their smiles). Prices: Fair (with today's inflation) My plate was $17.49. This place has some great variety and everything we had was amazing! The service was great, our server was Breana, she was kind and we enjoyed the professionalism and banter she gave. We ordered the Funnel Cake French toast, which was crispy and delicious.. and adding some of the strawberry pancake syrup on top, which is located on the table kicked it to an even higher notch. We also ordered the Winston Churchill, which was absolutely delicious. It's really hard to find a good British breakfast and let's go home everybod this one did not disappoint. Walked in about 1:30 on Saturday. Took about 5 minutes to be sat. Once sat, nobody ever came to get our drink order. I had to flag someone down to get coffee. Took about 15 minutes for anyone to come and take our order. Our food was delivered and it was lukewarm. Nobody ever came back to check on us. We found the coffee pot and refilled our own coffee. Also got our own leftovers container. Someone besides our server dropped our bill off at the beginning of our meal. I guess we didn't want to order anything else. We used the QR code to pay and never spoke to another employee the entire time. Restaurant wasn't busy. There were more employees than guests. We never saw them dance. I've tried their other locations and it's always been a good experience. When me and my wife saw they were opening one down here, we were excited. So excited we stopped by thinking it was open, but when we looked there were people still working on the renovations. The place looks great and service was spot on. So I stopped by here for lunch and I was in the mood for some traditional chili, so I got a bowl of it. I also wanted to try out their burgers so I settled on the Double Bacon Cheeseburger. Their homemade chili was what I expected; traditional, classic chili and it was good. The cheeseburger was good too, but it was just too big for me to get a good bite. They cooked it perfectly, medium-well like I asked and it didn't turn out dry. No complaints here. I'll be bringing my wife here next time when we're in the mood for some brunch and don't feel like driving too far. read more

My girlfriend and I have been making our way around Riverside trying different breakfast spots, and Annie's Café recently ended up back on our list for a second try. The first time we visited, the experience was just okay. The food was decent, but there was a long wait out in the sun and the service felt a little disorganized. We had to track down our server a couple of times, and by the end we weren't sure if we would come back. But we decided to give Annie's Café another chance and I'm really glad we did.Our server the second time was Daniel, and he completely changed the experience for us. I would only eat at Annie's Café if I am in Daniel's section. Daniel is one of those rare servers who seems to operate with sharp intuition. My girlfriend can be pretty particular about what she wants during a meal, but before she even had the chance to ask for something, Daniel would appear with it, as if on cue. Coffee refills, water, salsa, even coffee cake. He was always one step ahead. What impressed me most was his attitude. Even though the place was clearly busy and he was slammed, he kept a positive energy the entire time smiling, attentive, genuinely friendly and didn't forget things. Honestly, being served by Daniel didn't just improve the meal it shifted my perspective for the rest of the day. Seeing someone handle pressure with that kind of poise and awareness was refreshing. The food was good, but the service is what made this visit memorable. Thanks to Daniel, Annie's Café definitely earned its spot back in our breakfast rotation.
