The coffee and desserts were spectacular. I know there are other locations, but this particular one felt very chaotic when it came to service. Because of the staffing situation, we waited about 25 minutes just to receive our coffee. The same employee who was making the drinks was also taking orders at the register and delivering them to the tables. I have a heavy appreciation for this place as someone who eats more health conscious. I love everything that they stand for. Almost everything made fresh, homemade syrups, love it. It is on the expensive side but I'll pay for good quality foods/drinks. My biggest complaint are the messy inside and the workers. Every time we've been here, maybe 5 at this point, they always get the order wrong, don't pay attention when we are ordering and we have to send our orders back. Last time they made a cold latte over hot, the time before the wrong milk in a matcha. They are little things and the workers always correct the mistakes but when the order is correct and workers make the order wrong it just feels like they aren't paying attention. So when the opportunity to visit for a local Meetup came about, I had no excuses and finally had to check it out. I ordered by far the most expensive small decaf Americano I've ever had outside of San Francisco at nearly $8, which came burned and sat at the bar for far too long. The staff neglected to call out that it was ready, nor brought it to our table. The seating is comfy and it's a big bright space with a few breakout areas, which was nice, and there's plenty of parking outside. However, they closed at 3pm on a Sunday, so our group got booted just as the conversation was heating up. Honestly, my biggest issue was the poor quality for the price. The Americano wasn't even on the menu so I originally ordered the $4 coffee, so when I was charged 2x what I expected to pay, I was definitely surprised - and not in a good way. I was actually introduce to this place by my little cousin to drop by this coffee shop. We got there around 2:40ish so they were cleaning up and there was only like two customers there, so we were able to capture the cuteness and beauty of the shop. Since we were heading to the airport, we just got their waffle and macarons since we came from lunch. Cafe Lola deserves an updated Review. After my negative experience, I still returned and visited the Eastern location. Service at Rainbow was great my last 3 visits. The last 2 visits, I had the Mimosa Flight. I noticed they changed their menu. Bummer because my favorite dish is no longer served. This time around I brought 5 other friends with me. I purchased a bottle of Bubbles aka Prosecco and my friends ordered Macaroons, potato chips and chips with guacamole. I ordered The Lox Toast and Monte Cristo. The Lox was delicious however, the Monti Cristo was meh. It was cut into 4 pieces and I only ate 1 and my friend ate 1. Personally, I'd like to see the old dishes again. For a $12 pumpkin latte to come out that I asked to be not sweet and super sweet and a $9 lavender Matcha come out that's supposed to be lavender with foam on top of both with no foam. When I asked the barista why they're not the same she told me this is how it is. We threw $23 of drinks in the garbage by the sprouts because they were awful in comparison to what we had at the other location. Absolutely lovely experience. This location is beautiful and spacious inside. I recently found out I have food allergies and was so happy for the menu accommodations they have here. The staff here was so kind and helpful. I opted for a chicken sandwich with gluten free bread. Do you know how hard it is to find gluten free bread that tastes good?? My daughter and I have loved coming to Cafe Lola. We love the soup and Sammy it's our go to for grilled cheese and tomato soup. But for the last couple of months it's been frustrating to come to Cafe Lola and order our fav. Went there today and AGAIN they say they don't have any soup. When there is clearly a pot left on the stove that I was looking at. I asked AGAIN is there a certain time we need to come in by to be able to get the soup and Sammy. They often have said they don't have any and offer a salad or cookies in replacement of the soup. The response I get all the time is it really depends on the day. It makes no sense to offer the Soup and Sammy on the menu if it's only offered "really depends on the day". If it's a popular item on the menu. The response of "really depends on the day" not acceptable especially for customers who come to Cafe Lola specifically for that. Very disappointed in that response. The girl who took our order was friendly enough, but she made it clear that she could tell we weren't from the area, and gave us looks and made a snide remark when we told her that we were visiting from California. We were disappointed with each and every one of our drinks. The salted caramel cloud was basically just milk, water, ice, and syrup. The vanilla lavender was way too syrupy. Lack of customer service was disappointing. Our server dropped our chips, which wasn't a huge deal, but the response afterward was poor. She avoided eye contact, apologized while walking away, and didn't offer to replace them. The water jug was also empty, and we had to repeatedly ask for refills. Even after asking, it was only refilled just enough for 4 cups, and other people had to ask again as well.
