    Beef tendon lo mein
    Erika C.

Surprisingly nice service, they keep this up and they'll lose authenticity points ;) Got the beef tendon lo mein. Thought the noodles could use more chew and more seasoning. There's parking in the back but there's some navigation involved. I wouldn't mind coming back but I'd probably be more likely to go to the HK cafe on broadway for ease of access and more comfortable seating.

Wanted to try this location since we drive by it everyday. This is a Hong Kong style restaurant food. We ordered: Baked oxtail with rice, the fish with egg corn over rice, the beef tendon over lo mein, beef tendon wonton noodle soup, and baked pork chop over rice. The baked oxtail was not bad. But for the price it's not bad. For drinks: we ordered the Hong Kong style milk and coffee tea. Not as good as when I was in hong Kong. But ok. I would definitely come back, but would try something different. Parking is in the back and service was ok.

HOT TIP: If you're in a hurry/have a time restraint and want to eat any of their baked items, call 30 minutes prior to arriving. Put in your order and tell them you'll arrive soon to dine in. They'll prep any baked items for you ahead of time. I almost only get their baked items so, I try to strategically plan when to call in. I've once waited my entire lunch time (all 50 minutes) because there was an oddly huge take out order ahead of us. Yes, their pork chop over rice in tomato sauce is 12/10 but don't sleep on their curry sauce! They have a parking lot in the back of house and 3 spots in the front.

Always busy at lunch and dinner time. But they're efficient and quick with their service. If you like Hong Kong cafe foods, this is the place to go! They're one of the few restaurants left that still make really good food just like Hong Kong foods.

This is well establish restaurant been operate quite sometime. It's small, clean, with little age but the food is good Here is my scoring card for this restaurant: 1) Location: ( 3 Point ) - Great location for customer to see and find. Great parking for street parking and side parking lot parking. 2) Decoration : (4 Point) - They still have the original decoration. Clean. 3) Price: ( 4 point)- The price is competitive but still a little bit pricey compare to other same stars and type food they serve 4) Quality and Taste : ( 3 point)- The quality is ok, food taste is good and portions are below average . ( must be inflation ) 5) Type of cuisine standard : ( 4 point) - The style of Chinese food they serve is pretty close to the way it was prepare in China. Not bad! But some dishes did have slightly modify to cater the customer's need Overall it's not bad and I thinks it's great to give it a try and let me know what you think. Go foodies Total max is 25 Score 18 Stars = 72% round up to 3 stars

Got take out on a Sunday afternoon. Pork chop rice was average. Curry beef stew was spicy and very tasteful. The steak was the special of the day. It's not as good as before . Not sure if it's because we had it take out instead of dine in. Milk tea was very creamy with probably evaporated milk and strong tea flavor.

This is my first time coming here to eat. The food here was delicious. The food was super fresh and hot. I ordered the curry pizza and fried chicken for appetizers. The curry pizza was really good and soft. It tasted like naan bread. The curry was not too spicy, which I liked. The fried chicken was super crispy and hot. The fried chicken came with crispy fries. The spaghetti was really tasty and flavorful. The pork wasn't too bad and it was alright. Waitress was nice and friendly. We were served right away and our food arrived within 10 minutes.

Cafe Orchid is a HK style cafe located in a pretty nice area in Millbrae. It was super busy when we went, but it's a fairly cramped space! You're sitting almost shoulder to shoulder with other patrons, with just a small gap between tables. They have an extensive menu, and specials for each day. I ended up getting beef stir fried instant noodles and a milk tea. The milk tea was tasty, but the noodles were too salty for my taste. Not my favorite, but maybe the other menu items are better!

This is one of my favorite restaurants. It's not fancy or particularly special, but it's a place where you can enjoy a delicious, simple meal at a reasonable price with milk tea. I personally love the pork katsu and spaghetti combo, and I also enjoy the sausage macaroni! And now they even accept credit cards, including Amex!

Food was Hong Kong style cafe. This is a small cafe. They do get crowded. We ordered the pork chops with spaghetti and Hainan chickens. Pork chops were tasty but the sauce wasn't good. Hainan chicken rice should be tasty not just steam rice. A little disappointed for the rice. Food was a little bland. It was our first time in this cafe. They do have a lot of variety selection in the menu. Totally recommended if you like to try new foods.

We decided to stop by this cafe for a late lunch/pre dinner snack. The restaurant is kind of small but we were seated very quickly. I ordered a baked pork chop over spaghetti and cream sauce but it took forever for the order to be complete and when it was complete, my order was totally wrong. It was very disappointing because the server repeated my order right after I placed the order. I had to wait another 15 minutes for my original order to arrive while everyone in my group had finished their food. The dishes were all pretty delicious and I will probably come back again in the future. It was just unfortunate that my order took a long time and was wrong.

Cute spot near the BART/Caltrain station! Fish balls were pre-fried and tasty, and noodles were soft but not overcooked.

So I recommend going for dinner. The must-get is the sweet and sour pork. It's perfectly evenly fried, super chewy and crispy outer layer, and a thin pork layer. The sauce is sweet and tangy. Another delicious dish is the BBQ green beans. The mushrooms are super juicy and the cumin goes surprisingly well with the green beans. One of the biggest surprises was the sweet and sour pork, which ended up being one of my favorite dishes of the meal. They have just about every organ meat you could ask for, and I liked that all the sides and meats are displayed clearly if you want to order by the pound instead of from the menu. Service was fast and friendly. Now I just need to recruit a bigger group so we can come back, order family style, and work our way through more of the menu.

Words to my heart, you know. Despite being sold out on some of the items we wanted to try, we still really enjoyed what we did order. Portions were generous and not too pricy. Also, despite being late, their Chinese deli was still pretty fresh. The order of roast pork we had was well seasoned and featured that airy crispy skin to be completely envious of. That alone is a huge plus because we don't have a lot of places in the peninsula to pick up these items, especially compared to the city. The fish porridge was complete comfort. Texture was good and there was plenty of fish to go around. The pork noodles were deeply savory but the pops of pickled vegetables against the silky rice noodles also really hit the spot. The only dish that was a bit meh to me were the potstickers. The filling was a bit mushy and I'm not the biggest fan if the deep fried style. Pan fried is the king for me.
