If the food itself didn't earn the five stars, the staff absolutely did! This was one of my first spots my wife and I went to when we moved to Carmel, and boy did they make us feel welcome! Our server went to the staff and had them write down other local spots for us to try and also gave us his own personal suggestions! The food itself was fantastic! The croissant was so flakey and rich and perfect, every piece of the meal was delicious. The coffee situation is a little strange but it lets you stretch your legs so I'm all for it! 5 star staff makes this a place that I can't wait to return to! read more

Our first time to Patachou and our last. Ordered the Piggy Omelet it arrived cold with the cheese still stringy and not melted. Our server was uninterested in serving that day. Finally had to wave down another server to get jam for the toast and my ice tea. This after our server passed by us several times without stopping to ask how everything is. Even tried to get his attention and he never looked our way. By then everything else was cold. There are many other good breakfast/brunch places in this area of town. Try them first. The quality of food is always great here, however, our party was not asked, but told, that we must leave our table due to a "paid reservation" and that we had 5 minutes to do so. Our small party of 3 received our drinks and food very quickly, which was awesome at the time, but now it seems we were rushed to get in and out. We were not asked if we needed anything else; just presented with the checks. If they had planned to use our table for this super special reservation, why seat us there to begin with? They could of had us wait and be seated in an unreserved spot as they had done with other guests. Sad to see another's dining experience is more important than your own. Came in and told them we had a group of 5, we were told it would be a 35 minute wait...ended up being an hour. Sat down and had a rude waitress, once we got our food one of our orders was not correct, so when we got their attention and got a new omelette...it was wrong yet again. We had plenty of empty tables around us and the wait line was still very long, could've been prevented. We get it was New Years Day but they knew this was going to occur and should've expected this many people to come in. read more

This is the most impressive restaurant ever, because they are consistently great at everything. The servers are incredible, the restaurant is beautiful, and the food is great. Every time. It is the kind of place where you can go over and over and just keep getting different things because everything on the menu is delicious, high-quality, and healthy (well, most of it :)). I like to get either the Cuban (rice and beans with cilantro and an egg) or the Broken Yolk Sandwich (2 eggs, I ask them to be cooked hard), on bread with greens. Even something simple like their oatmeal is good. Their fruit is beautiful and edible (not mushed up). The jam is homemade. There are many good drink options. There is inside and outside dining, or stools at the bar. It is very popular and often has a wait. The only tiny thing I'd change is to offer thinner bread (two slices is a lot of 1" thick bread). Everyone I know loves Patachou, and although you mostly see women in there, the guys like it just as well. read more

The food here is fresh and delicious. They offer many great options for breakfast and lunch. This location is much larger than the previous location. But that brings a few drawbacks. The parking lot is too small for this cafe. The ceilings are high and with the concrete floors the noise level takes away from the cozy environment they had at the old location. We just moved to Indianapolis and tried Patachou. We had gone before and it was packed so we decided to try again. It was worth it! Service was great, food quality was fantastic, ambiance was comfortable and trendy. Bloody Mary was good but a little pricy. Coffee is strong and delicious. I've been dining here for 7 years and the quality continues to slip. I spent $96 after tip on breakfast for three this morning and my egg whites were runny and the overpriced mimosas were mostly orange juice. Every time I go here now, it really just feels like an overpriced bowl of arugula at the end of the day. Save your money and go grab brunch somewhere else. There are plenty of more affordable and more unique delicious options available in Carmel. read more

Patachou has been a favorite of mine for years. The champagne cocktails are fantastic, as are the omelets. As another reviewer said, the cinnamon toast is everything. They offer many unique food pairings, and I've never had anything that I've been disappointed in. The service is also great, and the waitstaff is incredibly kind and accommodating. If you plan to go during prime hours on the weekend, be prepared to wait 20 minutes, but I don't think that is something worthy of complaining about. I mean, come on, it's a restaurant with limited space, during peak hours. Of course there will be a wait, use your brain, and stop complaining about very first world problems. read more

Got to visit Patachou for breakfast on my birthday. It was fantastic! I ordered the Cuban breakfast, rice, beans and cheese with an over easy egg and a side of jalapeño pesto sauce. It was beyond delicious. The coffee was also quite good. My boyfriend ordered the all-meat omelet. It was perfectly cooked with no browned marks on the egg. We will DEFINITELY be returning. My "broken yolk" with smoked salmon really didn't need the thick, pedestrian bread, and for $16.50, I'd have preferred more salmon, but I ordered it and c'est la vie. It comes with white cheddar, but smoked salmon+cheddar= blech to me. The BF's french toast was a sugar bomb, but that's kind of his fault . . . This review will be based on a hostess that works there. I will make another review about the food & our server. When my husband & I arrived. I saw that it was crowded. I was told that it will be a 35 minute wait. We were okay with that so I gave the hostess Abigail our name. She asked for our number & I looked around in the lobby to find us a seat to sit for the wait. After the first 20 minutes, we saw at least four groups exit the restaurant. I told myself, we should be seated soon because three people ahead of us we're already seated. Another 25 minuets passed & people that came in after us, were being seated. My husband then went to go ask Abigail why weren't we called yet? She asked for the information & stated our information wasn't on the list. She then said, we will be seated next. Now, my husband and I are the ONLY African American in the restaurant. My first thought was, "she could possibly be racist because she took my information down and we were sitting right in front of her. So she had to see us wait there for 45 minutes." Either she's racist or she doesn't give a damn about asking people who's been waiting a while, did you give us your name." I immediately changed my thought process. I didn't want the media & the environment to force me to feel like we were being mistreated. That changed once I saw her do it to a bi-racial couple. Our table was straight across from the hostess stand. My husband & I are people watchers. He must be able to see the door wherever we go. He likes to pay attention to our environment. We saw this biracial couple come in & give Abigail their information. They then asked for coffee & stood straight across from us. 20 minutes after we got our food, I noticed they were still standing there. I saw 2 tables opened for people to be seated. 25 minutes passed and a table behind us had opened. Abigail had seated 4 other groups that came after them already. We were overhearing the couple talk & become angry. But they never said anything. We then saw Abigail seat a couple that only waited 10 minutes, be seated right behind us. One hour went passed. The lobby is pretty much emptied & they spotted a table open. The husband approached Abigail & asked why haven't they been seated yet. At this point, it's only 2 other groups waiting in the lobby. They were standing right in front of her for an hour & not once did she think to ask them anything. I couldn't hear her response. During their wait, Abigail & I locked eyes many times and I would immediately look at to the couple that was waiting. Hoping she would care to greet them again, but she didn't. She actually smiled at the couple 4 times during their wait. 5 minutes after the husband approached her. They were finally seated.l at the table that we all saw opened. Being that this happened twice in one day, confirmed my first thoughts about Abigail. It's unfortunate that one employee can set your tone about the restaurant. It's not the establishment fault that they hired a racist individual. How would they know during a interview? I doubt we go to this location again. We personally don't have time to be mistreated by anyone. I will say, the food was AMAZING and our server Pasquale was AWESOME! He made our experience worth waiting. He made great suggestions for vegan options. He went out his way to ask his vegan co-worker his favorite choices. Based on the food & our server, we give the restaurant a 5 star. I wanted to base this review on the hostess. I will make a second review about Pasquale & the food next. Hopefully the establishment see's this review & speak with Abigail to avoid this happening to someone else. read more
