You immediately feel that warm, homey, family vibe the moment you walk in. In all the times we've visited, we have never had a bad experience. (Forgot to publish from visit on 4/19) We had a group of 6 when we stopped in for brunch around noon, it was Sunday so we had a 45 minute wait - what better way to waste time than shop near by? Once we received our, 'Your table is ready' text, we made our way back and were finally sat, after being brought to the table and standing awkwardly waiting, while the table was cleaned. This was my first time at this specific location but the food is always pretty good -I always have a side order of potatoes! We stopped by First Watch while we were in town, and the first thing I noticed was how busy it was. There were lots of people waiting for a table, which is usually a great sign--and it definitely proved to be true here. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated, but it was well worth it. The service was impeccable: very friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Our food came out quickly and tasted amazing--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. This is a great spot to hang out. I had an all-around, great experience here this afternoon. Upon our arrival, I was surprised to see how full the parking lot in front of the restaurant was. It was after noon on a Wednesday, and I didn't expect them to be very busy, especially since they close at 2pm. As we walked in, I scanned the room for an open booth (our seating preference) and didn't see any open. We asked for one anyway and were offered a half booth directly in front of the host stand, but as it was being cleaned off, a couple in the back of the restaurant got up from a booth preparing to leave. They were very accommodating and got that spot cleaned off for us right away. Our server, Anna, was amazing. She checked in with us right away to get our drink orders, even before I'd had a chance to look over the menu. She got my husband some coffee and brought me water, while I looked over the menu to decide on my drink. I knew that I wanted one of their fresh-squeezed juices but wasn't sure which. I decided on the Morning Meditation, an energy-boosting, slightly spicy blend orange & beet juices with turmeric, ginger and lemon. I always say that I prefer my morning jolt in fruit form and this blend of fruit juices definitely fits the bill. Hubby ordered the Tri-fecta, a classic breakfast of eggs, bacon and he subbed French toast in for the option of pancakes or waffles for an additional $1.99. I opted for the 2 For You Lunch Special with a 1/2 sandwich (Monterey Club) and 1/2 salad (Sweet Honey Pecan). I ordered the sandwich with no tomato and when I didn't say no tomato on the salad, Anna was sure to point out that the salad had tomato too. I appreciate little details like that! I don't mind tomato on my salad but despise having a full slice of it on my sammy, but that extra attention to detail was not lost on us at all. She was also sure to let us know about that upcharge for the substitution of the French toast. So very appreciated because a surprise on our bill is never a good time! My husband cleared his plate, which is saying a lot. He usually thinks restaurant French toast is too thick and filling, but the amount given was just right. His eggs were cooked to his liking and so was the bacon. He thoroughly enjoyed it all. I only ate on the salad portion of my meal while at the restaurant, but I must say that the combination of ingredients on the Sweet Honey Pecan salad work together in perfect harmony. I wouldn't change a thing. The salad was amply dressed as well. I usually have to ask for additional dressing, but that was unnecessary in this case. I was unsure about the "warm" factor of the honey Dijon dressing, but it was really nice. The serving size was generous too. I'll be enjoying my 1/2 sandwich as a snack later. We paid at the counter/host stand and snagged a couple of stickers on our way out. We will certainly return again in the future. read more

I love this location. It is bright and clean and has interesting decorations. You are always treated well at this location my favorite waitress Anna was the hostess today so I did not get to have her as my waitress however she turned to me over to a fully capable waiter named Gabe. He took care of me very well and made sure that I had enough to drink, and that my order was good. I ordered my usual avocado, toast and iced tea with a side of bacon. He checked in with me and noticed that my eggs were overcooked so he took them back and got a new order. They came out perfectly after that and tasted great. It was Sunday at 9:30 a.m., and we were headed to First Watch in Westfield for breakfast. We were having an early Christmas get-together with family. We came in and were quickly greeted by the hostess, who took our name and let us know that it was a busy morning. We were given a 30-minute wait time. The restaurant was already packed and bustling with activity and conversation. We were seated, and our server, Juliette, quickly greeted us and took our drink order. We had several questions related to the menu. My wife has Celiac disease and was looking for safe options that she could enjoy. Juliette let us know that this was her first week and asked if she could get a little advice from her fellow servers to find some good options for my wife. She quickly returned with several suggestions, and our order was placed. The restaurant was really busy, and we had some additional needs. Because Juliette was very busy with her other tables, I went to the front and was greeted by Ed Nelson, the general manager, who was also acting as cashier and helping with hosting duties. He quickly came to my aid, and in no time I was back at my table relaxing with great conversation with our family. Shortly after, we received our food, and everything looked and smelled delicious. We started eating, and the conversation slowed because we were too busy enjoying our meal to talk. As we concluded the meal, Juliette was there getting our to-go drinks and boxes. First Watch has the option to pay digitally or at the front. We made our way to the front, and as we paid, I thanked Ed for his help earlier. I complimented him on Juliette's service. For a server in her first week with a restaurant this busy, we were all impressed with her level of service and connection with us and her other tables. I was also really impressed with Ed and how he moved from place to place of need in the restaurant, supporting his team. His attitude was kind and calm even while the hustle and bustle of the restaurant surrounded him and his team. I thanked him and complimented Juliette and his team. I asked him what he wanted the community of Carmel and Westfield to know about First Watch. He responded and said he wanted Carmel and Westfield to know that First Watch and their team wanted to be a destination for a great breakfast or lunch. He wanted our community to know that great food and great service were a priority to his team. He also let me know that his team is committed to providing safe options for people with food allergies and dietary needs. We found excellent and safe food options that our whole family was able to enjoy. We will be back, and we look forward to trying some of the other delicious options we saw. We also received a helpful tip from Ed letting us know we could check in online to shorten our wait. As busy as they were today, we were still seated ten minutes earlier than the estimate we were given. We had a great meal and look forward to our next visit. I'm not sure how a restaurant can make the most disgusting sausage gravy and the worst biscuits I've ever eaten at the same time, but First Watch did it! Just an awful breakfast. The biscuits were like stale hamburger buns and the gravy had a jelly like texture. Seems like it is probably is premade and shipped in- so horrid. Our omelet was laughably bad- an overcooked egg disk with some meat and cheese thrown in at the end. We had two entrees with potatoes that were undercooked and crunchy. They did absolutely nothing well on this order. All 3 of my kids barely touched their plates and said it was gross. Overall, just an excellent way to start Mothers Day!! read more

I would say this is more of 3.5, but will round up. I liked the healthy options. The food looked good, but will not be in my rotation of breakfast joints. The salmon frittata was a bit over cooked. A tomato or something else also would been nice for the salad instead of just the greens. The fruit on the kids plate was good, as was the toast. The lemon curd pancakes was not super fluffy. It's just one gigantic pancake. There was nothing that was very great about it. It wasn't bad... just meh. The service was adequate, but she just kind of disappeared. Another person dropped off the food, and it was a good 10 min after we finished eating that we ever saw her to try to get the bill. Which is sometimes difficult with a kid. The ambiance was good. Absolutely terrible. Ordered a simple waffle, eggs, and turkey sausage. Not only did they burnt my waffle, upon receiving my new plate of food there was a piece of hair in my eggs ! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for some delicious food and great customer service. This was our first time coming and we ordered the lemon blueberry cornbread which was absolutely delicious. I will definitely order that again. The breakfast tacos were a hit, my wife ordered eggs, toast, sausage and potatoes and she loved it. But she really enjoyed my tacos with me, she even ate my last bite which I call my "Juicy Part!" Our hostess Cheyenne did a fantastic job, she has outstanding customer service skills and she made sure that we were satisfied. I am typically not a fan of chain breakfast places, so when I was part of a large group that decided to come here on a Sunday morning--and then saw the crowds as soon as I walked in--I had some worries. First Watch ended up being a very pleasant surprise. We were seated quickly thanks to a (same day) reservation that kept us out of their small and fairly chaotic waiting area. Our waitress came around and took drink orders quickly, so I had a warm cup of coffee in front of me within a couple of minutes of sitting down. There's a nice mix of healthy and heavier options to both eat and drink. Steak and bacon breakfast burritos wowed the carnivores in our crowd, while the superfoods bowl appealed to our visitors from California. Similarly, there are fancy frozen coffees alongside fresh-squeezed green juices. When someone in our group accidentally knocked over his juice, the waitress was very polite, helping us clean it up and quickly bringing a replacement. I opted for the (seasonal) sunny Seoul hash with pork, potatoes, diced bell peppers, kimchi, and cheese. My sunny side up eggs were cooked perfectly, oozing out over the potato hash as I cut in. The kimchi was chopped finely, so you got a little bit--but not too much--in each bite. If you're looking for something different, I'd highly recommend it. read more

The rancid oils contained in the margarine spread kind of negate the healthy options I chose for my breakfast. We then ordered coconut chia seed pudding w/ almond butter toast. And a blueberry muffins with a side of seasoned potatoes. Every time I come here, I always order the chia seed pudding bc it's such a light breakfast and it doesn't make me feel bad after eating. Very high in fiber & protein packed in a small meal. The pudding is topped with granola, fruits and some cream. Very flavorful, and the different textures with granola is very fun! Rich and very nutty, the toast. The almond butter came with a thicccc layer of butter and I had to scrap at least 70% of it. It was still so strong, creamy, mouthful and even after it, and running it down with juice, still heavy and sorta sticky and thick in mouth. I do enjoy this breakfast despite how much butter is slapped on a piece of toast. Seasoned potatoes are the way to go. I love the packed seasoned potatoes so much. You can't go wrong after eating a light breakfast. All the flavors blend together so perfectly paired with a yummy juice. I think they cut their potatoes by hand, and it's not heavily seasoned, but seasoned to perfection to my taste. I wish it was a little bit more crispy, but nonetheless it's so delicious. Although the name of this place makes me scratch my head (sounds more like a retail shop or boutique), the food is quite good. We went on a busy Sunday morning. On the website, you are able to add your name to the waitlist and given an estimated wait time. We did this prior to arriving, and when we showed up we only waited a few minutes before we were seated which was nice because this place was packed! The menu is pretty extensive, with both breakfast and lunch options. They include the estimated calories for each dish which is nice for those keeping track. They also have a range of healthy options to the less healthy options which of course my eyes were drawn to. We ordered coffee and were brought a carafe for the table -- another plus. I ordered the "chickichanga" which is a breakfast style chimichanga with whipped eggs, chicken and chorizo topped with 'Vera Cruz' sauce. It was absolutely delicious and the yellow sauce on top was amazing. Our waitress was friendly and attentive but unfortunately, two out of the other three people I was dining with had their orders either messed up or missing something which is the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. read more

Enjoyed a great meal today with the hubby! We did "Get In Line" via their website which resulted in less than a 5 minute wait upon arrival. Our waitress appeared to be new and had to be reminded to bring missing ordered items to our table and several other people's table sitting in our section. We showed her grace for she was extremely nice. The food was good and the restaurant was very cute. I would suggest a pay at the table option versus paying at the counter. There was one person working the register with 8 people waiting in line to pay. I like that they give you an entire pot of coffee for your coffee order. It's nice to be able to top off and refill on your own. We also had oj and apple juice which were full glass sizes. This is a big win in our book! I had the avocado toast with eggs. They were served perfectly and even accommodated my gluten free toast request. My daughter had the BLT sandwich, which also had cheese on it. She wasn't the biggest fan of the Swiss cheese and due to the warmish bacon, it was partially melted.
