Hard pass! We went tonight for a bite, walked in around 7:30 on Sunday night and should have walked back out. The place is a mess, crap all over the floors the drink station was sticky and nasty but I was determined to give it a try. This place is like a rejected Chipotle wanna be and the young kid working the service line was very rude and should NOT be on the front line. I ordered the chicken bowl, it was edible. The black beans were a piled mess that stuck together, the rice was pretty old and not the best either and whose idea is it to keep the cut lettuce in water!? That lettuce crap was brown and a mess. Lastly on mine was the cilantro. Please, please pick the leaves off the cilantro or just don't offer it. They just piled up stems of cilantro right on top of my bowl. You do not eat cilantro stems! My wife ordered a barbacoa quesadilla. The kid just threw the tortilla on the flat top and a handful of cheese all over it, let it sit there for a bit then added a small cup full of drippy barbacoa in a small pile on a corner portion of the tortilla with a bowl over it to warm it. Thankfully a nicer lady from the back came up to help out. She was kind and gave my wife some sauce for her dilla. We paid and went to the drink station. It was a mess, sticky stainless steel and just had not been touched in hours. We sat down at a two top by the windows and just looked around at all the mess all over the floors. It is a nasty place to eat. I ate half of mine after pulling off the cilantro. My wife ate 1/4 of hers as the dillla was soaked from the drippy barbacoa. We tried to throw out our trash but the trash can was over flowing and had crap all over it as well. Don't eat here. Go 1 mile away to the chipotle by Walmart. It's a much nicer place that is clean and they are much nicer people there too. This place needs some new management and employee training on treating customers and cleaning up the dining room. No telling what the storerooms and coolers look like. I would hate to see those! Good luck staying in business for another year or two. People do not like eating in filth being treated like crap by some teenage punk who needed to be let go a long time ago. Good luck Rio but your place sucks big time! read more

Ordered online at 12:15 for a 1:00 pm pickup, got there at 1:07 and they had just started making the order. We had ordered horchata and it was completely empty, when we notified staff they said they would "come look at it in a few minutes." There were a fair amount of people dining in, however there is space and staff dedicated to online orders only so not quite sure what the holdup was. read more

This place breaks my heart! This place is a hit or miss... but most likely a miss. Either they stuff your food with rice or they can't get the order right on Valentine's Day. Love the people that workthere but we have had many orders go wrong. Love to get cafe Rio because it reminds my wife and I of when we were at college, but now my memories are stolen by memories of sadness from the Twin Falls Cafe Rio. This MF'er thinks it's Chipotle. Choose your protein, bean/rice combo and veggies. Boom by the time you're done you'll end up with a $20 mediocre as sh!t taco bowl that 9/10 times will be over loaded with lettuce and fillers. Stood in line for a solid 20 minutes, ordered the carnitas bowl with black beans and rice. They had some Elotes knock off, so I had to try that. It was ok. Salsas were kind of BS. No spice and hardly any flavor. The place needs a good cleaning too. Comes equipped with sticky floors and tables. I was excited to try this out as we don't have them in Oregon. I was pretty disappointed. The food was just ok, and the customer service was horrible. To the boy last night who was running the cash register: I wasn't impressed when you popped and picked the zit or whatever it was on your arm as you bagged my food. Right in front of me. The first employee helping us clearly looked like she hates her job. No customer service, said the bare minimum with no smile, I couldn't help but laugh because it was so blatantly obvious she didn't want to be there. Pretty bad first impression. Food was alright. Customer service is key and truly sets a mood for the entire meal... also, the restaurant is gross. Leaking ceiling in the middle of the dining area, the ice dispensers on the soda machines need to be replaced or thoroughly cleaned. The workplace is filthy, there's flies everywhere and the serving area looks like it hasn't been cleaned in days. $16 for a HIGHLY below average meal. Every. Single. Time. I order from this location, my food is wrong. When I DoorDash Cafe Rio, I have to ask the dasher to check my order before they leave because it was always wrong. I started doing Curbside pickup and still, my order is always wrong. When they make the food right, it's delicious, but I don't know what's going on. They always do the opposite of the ticket they receive or smother it in with the exact ingredient you don't want. Managers, you need to start training your staff on how to read tickets and follow direction. read more

Saturday January 20, I ordered a combo with large drink via UberEats. I was surprised to find an empty cup in the bag. I rushed to catch the driver before he left. He said he'd go and get my drink which I had the receipt. Proving I purchased the drink. The driver came back and I tipped him extra for doing this. I'm not sure what's happened to this Cafe Rio that last couple of years. The sauces are too salty. The food looks like it's just tossed in the bowl. Very little cheese. About every other time, the order is wrong. We've kept going hoping they'd eventually take all these reviews and get their act together but the food is nearly unbearable because of the saltiness. It's awful. Lots of other Mexican places in town that are better. This one used to be one of the best. We used to use them for catering lunches for meetings at work. Not anymore. I have always liked the food here. I like taco Tuesday night. This is probably the only positive thing about this place. But everything else about this location is BAD. The entire restaurant is always dirty, every time I am there. The special drinks such as horchata is always empty. There is always a line and the workers act like they don't know what they are doing. The line moves ssslowly. If they are new than I understand that. A few times that I have ordered online, the food was not ready when I went to pick it up. ( A most recent visit, my group ordered online. The food was not ready or even started. We asked for a refund bc of waiting so long. The 2 managers started to "get on to us" and act like it was our fault. They started to argue with us. They were very rude.) Most of the staff are rude or grumpy. Yelling, cussing, etc. (A few of the teenager workers are probably the best workers in the restaurant. They are nice, and look as if they are truly working or working hard.) There's a manager who is somewhat older. She is always grumpy and causes strife with her coworkers. A couple of visits in here, she was yelling at her coworkers. Bossing her coworkers around. She is not very professional. I would not want her as a coworker or manager. There's more reasons why this restaurant or this location is BAD. But you get the picture.... We parked at curbside with two different employees asking our name for the order but nothing ever came. I walked in after waiting for 30 min and no one had any order for me. The salad is served in a cheesy tortilla which is different! They serve a small little dressing so make sure you ask for 2 or even 3. Portion size was good for price. We ordered through Uber eats last night. I got a shredded beef burrito, the first bite was pretty good. But then I got to the rice, it was very undercooked, you know when you take a bite of rice and it crunches, yeah that kind of under cooked. Due to this, it was inedible for me. One employee said the morning prep guys didn't make enough. Wouldn't you have noticed that and made more after you realized it and not wait 6 hours when you ran out??
