Cafe Turko is not only an absolutely STUNNING restaurant. Their food clears too. I loved my time there, from the lovely Turkish adornments that brought color and culture to the space, to the food and servers who clearly take their positions quite seriously! Try out this spot to really experience Seattle's best

Went there for a casual birthday dinner and loved the traditional decor. Food was flavourful and colourful. Everything tasted good and fresh except the Lahmacun that we didn't quite enjoy because we were expecting it to be a bit crispy and meat well roasted.

The restaurant is colorful, warm, and spacious. The service is attentive, quick, and helpful. Our Server was so welcoming and happy to recommend her favorites from any section. All of our needs were met and then some. She really added to the lovely experience. The kitchen is incredibly efficient. The food came out at a great pace and it tasted just as delicious as it looked. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful as well. I couldn't recommend Turko Cafe enough. They have a great variety of dishes and flavors. You can bring your meat lovers, vegetarians, and vegan friends with confidence that everyone can find a dish they'll enjoy. I haven't had a chance to truly explore Turkish cuisine and wow, I've been missing out. What a great introduction to a food full of flavors. Also, their baklava is the best I've ever had. I can wait to come back to try more.

Love this little hidden Turkish delight. Excellent for any Vegans in your crew as well. Charming decor, plenty of indoor space, with some outdoor cafe tables when the weather cooperates. Broad menu selection from weekend brunch, pizza, soups, to classics like hummus, lamb, beef, and chicken dishes. Service is always friendly and helpful and the prices are moderate for Seattle. Our favorites are the rainbow hummus (beet, chickpea, basil, yam) and the lamb kebabs. The muhammara is delicious too, but a little sweeter than we like. Don't sleep on the bite sized to-go Turkish delight (vegan, multiple flavors!) on the way out.

Beautiful yet cozy restaurant with a wide ranging menu of Turkish food. Service is really friendly, and our waiter ended up upselling us on our choices because his recommendations sounded good and genuine. He also offered alterations based on food preferences. I ordered the grandfather beyti and it was surprisingly filling. It was my first time trying a beyti and I enjoyed the balance of flavors. Would like to come back and try more food here.

Great Turkish restaurant with the best Beyti chicken wraps that I've had in Seattle. Authentic vibe and friendly staff make the dining experience exquisite.

The decor really sets the mood. It's so beautiful inside and unique. The service was a little slow but once they got started, the food came out super fast! Our favorite dish was the lamb and the wrap but everything was delicious! We also tried the Turkish coffee - wish I could have this treat every day honestly!

The decor of this atmosphere is really colorful and bright but IMHO, the food is unmemorable and not very flavorful. I am a little puzzled by the reviews. There are better local Turkish restaurants than this one. I ordered the Manti dumplings, sour cherry and lime fizz drink, the cauliflower appetizer, fries with feta cheese and the milky baklava. The drink was good but pricey for $7. The cauliflower appetizer was just mediocre. Again I had hoped the sauce would be flavorful but it was bland over soft vegetables. The manti dumplings lacked flavor. I had to ask for more sauces (tomato and yogurt sauce) just to eat it so that was rather disappointing. The milky baklava was different and I did like that it wasn't sweet and the creaminess added more of a balance to typical crusty baklava. The service was decent and the waitress did a good job checking up on us which others have stated they haven't had good service on their visits. The verdict? Cafe Turko wasn't inedible but it wasn't good either so I don't plan on returning again.

Love cafe turko! Been dining here religiously for years now. We always start off with their mixed hummus platter - spinach, sweet potato, beet and regular hummus served with warm pita bread. For mains we got the grandfather beyti and ali nazik with lamb (melts in your mouth lamb) and both the dishes were flavorful and tasty. We also ordered their special turkish coffee in chocolate orange flavor and it did not disappoint. Service was great and as you can see in photos the ambience immediately transports you to the streets of turkey with all those colors and local decor. Love this place and highly recommend them.

What a great place! We walked in and were seated right away. The decor was so amazing. Beautifully colored fabrics with the windows open, which let the breeze flow through the restaurant. Our server was so kind. The other staff members and the owner were all extremely friendly. The food was delicious. It came out super quickly and we didn't leave a single bite on our plates!

Such a sweet spot right off the main strip in Fremont near the brewery. Good bike ride stop too. Great food, kind service, and a fun ambiance. Loved the big open windows on a nice day.

I've been here several times and this is the first time I've tried the sparkling beverage (so refreshing). I normally order the shish kebabs (best turkish dish ever), but decided to be healthy and got the feel good salad instead. The dressing was a bit too sour/sweet for me, so I didn't order the right item this time around. But overall, I love the appetizers that we've ordered (dips and olives). Everything was made with fresh ingredients and you can taste it. Lots of tables on the weekends, surprisingly not crowded on a Saturday, and I love looking at their ceiling (nicely decorated with turkish lamps, mirrors, and art).

This restaurant has spacious space. I went on a Wednesday evening. It was not crowded. I got good service. Adana kebab is amazing. It's my favorite here. I also ordered freshly brewed tea. I enjoyed my meal. For dessert, I ordered milky bakhlava. Everything was great.

One of those meals I know I'm going to remember for a very long time…read more I honestly don't write reviews like this very often, but after tonight I felt such a strong urge to actually sit down and put this experience into words. I love food. I love seeking out Michelin restaurants, destination restaurants, random hole-in-the-wall places, really anything where the food has a story behind it. It doesn't have to be fine dining for me. I just want to eat something incredible that feels like it came from somewhere and means something to the person making it. Hamdi was exactly that. We flew in from San Diego and were only spending one day in Seattle, and Hamdi was specifically one of the places we wanted to experience while we were here. We had been talking about it before the trip, and after tonight, I completely understand why this place has the reputation it does. From start to finish, the meal was honestly a symphony. We had the Mangal Ekmek, Watermelon Salad, Havuç, Börek, The Kebap, and the Turk-Bone, then finished with the hazelnut ice cream with black cacao nougat and the Sütlaç, which is Chef Berk's mother's recipe with local milk, Baldo rice, vanilla bean, wood-fire roasted pistachios and hazelnuts. There genuinely wasn't a weak dish. What really got me was the depth of flavor in everything. There were combinations I would never have thought belonged together, but somehow every bite just worked. Sweet, smoky, savory, acidic, rich, fresh, charred, creamy, spicy. Nothing felt like it was trying too hard. Nothing felt complicated just for the sake of being complicated. Everything had a reason for being there. The Kebap especially is something I would tell anyone coming here not to miss. The lamb, lavash, sumac onion salad and rice together were ridiculous. And then the Turk-Bone came out and that was another experience on its own. But what made this meal really special to me wasn't just that the food tasted amazing. The kitchen is open, so throughout dinner I kept finding myself watching Chef Berk and the team work. You can actually see everyone in their element, and there was so much focus and care happening right in front of us. By the end of the meal, I felt this really strong urge to personally thank the chef. Not because I'm some food critic or because I wanted to analyze every technique on the plate. I just genuinely wanted to know more about what I had eaten and where all of it came from. I ended up having a really nice conversation with Chef Berk, and he explained how much of the menu and his cooking was inspired by the food he grew up with and by his mother. That honestly made the entire meal hit differently. There was something underneath all of the technique that felt incredibly personal and almost home-like. You're clearly eating food prepared at a very high level, but it never felt cold or overly intellectual. It felt like someone taking food and memories that mean something deeply to them and sharing that with you. You can taste when someone is cooking food just to impress you, and you can taste when the food actually means something to them. This felt like the second one. The Sütlaç was probably the perfect example. At the end of this incredible meal, you're eating something that ultimately comes back to his mother's rice pudding recipe. There's something so simple and special about that. That kind of thing is exactly why I love seeking out food experiences like this. The atmosphere was also spot on. It was a full house when we were there, music was playing, the kitchen was alive right in front of us, and somehow it all just worked. I had seen someone mention that the restaurant could be too loud to have a conversation, and I completely disagree based on our experience. We were able to talk and enjoy ourselves while still feeling all of the energy happening around us. It felt intimate without being quiet. It felt alive without being chaotic. And a huge thank you to Katrina and the entire team as well. We felt genuinely taken care of from beginning to end. I'm not a professional food reviewer and I'm not trying to be one. I'm just somebody who really loves finding incredible food and experiences that stick with me. This one will. Hamdi felt authentic, personal, and completely its own thing. I really don't think this is a meal that could just be replicated somewhere else. Chef Berk, Katrina, and everyone at Hamdi, thank you for an experience I'm going to be talking about for a very long time. Five stars without hesitation. This is the kind of meal and experience that, in my opinion, is absolutely Michelin-worthy. The level of technique, intention, originality, and heart behind the food is operating at that caliber.

We came to Hamdi for a celebratory dinner following our recent wedding. The food was good and our…read moreserver, Matthew, was attentive, kind and made great recommendations. Unfortunately, two aspects of the experience have stayed with us for less positive reasons. First, the 28 oz. porterhouse was listed simply as "MP," and the price was not disclosed when we ordered. We only discovered when the bill arrived that it was $209. At that price, the restaurant should share the market price with guests rather than putting them in the position of having to ask. With tax and the automatic 20% gratuity, our dinner for two came to $524. More disappointing, though, was how the evening ended. We were seated directly in front of the open kitchen and had watched chef/co-owner Berk Güldal warmly acknowledge other guests taking the restaurant's kitchen tour throughout the evening. We hadn't requested a tour and actually tried to leave without doing one as the restaurant was getting busy, but our server caught us and insisted we go through. The other kitchen staff were lovely--one even congratulated us on our marriage. But when our server brought us to Berk and began to introduce him, Berk turned his back to us and would not acknowledge us. Our server waited awkwardly for him to turn around, eventually gave up, and moved us along toward the exit. What was that about? Who knows. Having grown up in and worked in hospitality for more than three decades, I understand that restaurants get busy and chefs have a lot going on during service. But if a restaurant is going to insist that guests tour the kitchen, basic acknowledgement from the chef/owner doesn't seem like an unreasonable expectation--particularly after we'd spent the evening watching him extend that same courtesy to other guests. I wish the food were what stood out most when I think back on Hamdi, because it was good. Unfortunately, what has stayed with us instead is a $209 "market price" for a porterhouse that wasn't disclosed when we ordered, and an unnecessarily rude ending to an otherwise lovely meal.

I moved to Washington a few months ago and it has been incredibly difficult to locate a restaurant that sells Turkish delights so of course when I discovered this place, I had to plan a visit for my sweet treat craving. I don't often stop by Pike's Place because it's so crowded here, but i will say the Turkish delights have been worth the trip. They're simple and small bite sized pieces but they are satisfactory enough for me since I can't find any other options around. They offer a variety of flavors including (but not limited to) rose, peach, passionfruit, and mango. My personal favorite is probably the mango. They offer two different amounts of Turkish delight, costing up to about $16 excluding tax but can last me for a few days if I don't immediately inhale them all. I'm interested in their soup and baklava, though I'm not sure if I will give them a try since turkish delight is only on my mind when I visit lol My only negative criticism is that it tends to get busy here, which equates to a decline with an ideal customer service experience. There's either already plenty of people when I arrive or people start filling up the place after my arrival. I don't mind waiting in line BUT the lines here are very disorganized and there's no clear indication of where to order and where to purchase so I've been very p!ssed off for my last visit when I lined up to the main line (on the right) for my sweets, just for everyone else after me to get helped first because they cut in front to the other side of the counter (on the left). It's unspoken apparently but the main line is for the food/meat items.. I'm not exactly a fan of this level of disrespectful service that caters to entitled customers. It's a shame because I do want to return, when I'm in the area, for my turkish delights.. I really hope they improve..
