I have been to Abra's twice now and the service is consistently good and the food is tasty. Their orange juice is some of the best I've had. It's $4+ so it's a little pricier but other spots charge the same and it doesn't taste good. We've tried their French toast (phenomenal), breakfast nachos (very filling), and short stack (must try). The prices are super reasonable for the food that you get. It does fill up quickly and there may be a wait but it's a great spot if you're staying in the area and looking for good breakfast. read more

Had the Supreme and Country Omelettes. Eggs were prepared very well, tender and moist. The country omelet had a cream gravy that wasn't the typical thick white gravy but had a nice flavor. The hashbrowns had some nice crispy bits and were well seasoned. Mini waffles, served with both a sugar syrup and a fruit syrup were a fun option. Server was friendly and attentive. The experience overall wasn't the worst but it wasn't great either. It may have just been the day we came in but they were pretty understaffed and it took a while to be seated and a very, VERY long time to get our food. Our food was put out on the serving table to be brought to us from the kitchen and it just sat there for over 10 minutes and I have no idea what they were waiting for. My food was borderline cold and my mother in laws pancake was crusty and had a few hairs in it. The biscuits were pretty dry but the gravy had good flavor and the eggs and meat were really good. The French toast was definitely worth the wait but everything else was pretty pitiful. The staff was nice and helped to correct the mistake but because of how many people were there they were hardly able to wait on us. I was excited to go here because my family had gone a few times and they just raged about the pancakes. First thing when I walk in I just noticed how dirty the floors were, like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Now I'm kind of worried that if the floors are not clean, what's the food going to be like!? Waiters were kind but slow, and it wasn't extremely busy Then we got our food, I couldn't even eat it. It was typical diner type food, low quality ingredients, big servings but the food did not taste good. Even my daughter, a middle school student, was not impressed and didn't finish her meal We politely boxed up the food and paid but hurried out the door. I personally won't be back. To say I'm disappointed would be the TL;DR version. While traveling through the state, I placed an order for pickup. I did an egg, meat and spud plate, as well as a steak and eggs, along with 2 orange juices. The girl on the phone confirmed my medium rare steak and said it would take 20 minutes. When I arrived, I was told it would be a few more moments, so I signed my bill and waited. While I was waiting, I took a look at my bill and noticed that the charge on the orange juice was more than what was advertised in their yelp photos, as well as their Facebook photos. It would be a lot easier to know what their pricing was if they had a legitimate website. Additionally, I noticed that there was a service charge that was added on for no apparent reason, and the charge line had a snarky smile emoji . If they had simply charged me an extra $10, I would have been irritated enough, but my steak was so overcooked that it might have been better to take off my shoe and eat the leather. The cutlery they provided couldn't even withstand the challenge of cutting through the steak they served, but I'm on the road, so I was already miles away before my realizations could make their way. If I could give this place 10 stars, I totally would. From the outside, this place isn't much to look at. By the time we finished eating everyone was THRILLED. Portions are HUGE and items are unique! My only complaint is that I ran out of stomach space and had to stop eating. The service was excellent and we were very well taken care of. 10/10 on the sweet waitress that helped us. The Maple bourbon salmon was unlike anything we'd ever eaten before. The pancakes and waffles came with homemade buttermilk syrup. The zucchini melt was melty and SPICY!! The Monte Cristo wasn't deep fried, instead it was two pieces of sourdough French toast with homemade raspberry jam for dipping. All in all - WOW. Just WOW. Abra's is our newest tradition when we drive through Idaho. My kids kept saying throughout the entire meal, "I love this place so much! Good find!" read more

As this was listed as Number 1 in Pocatello, I opted to have our first breakfast in Pocatello. I was very impressed with Jessie, our server (and clearly management materials) who truly is "American Express" caliber!! She was friendly, patient, attentive, made suggestions and goes above and beyond to deliver to her customers and it wasn't just us. I witnessed her treating all diners with grace, respect, care and true kindness!! She's 7 stars!! Unfortunately, the kitchen was slammed so the food was excessively slow and a simple egg preparation request wasn't delivered the first time correctly. The steak was lukewarm but the gravy was warm. I didn't bother sending it back because we had waited so. long, that it was lunch time and I had other plans that were time sensitive. 2 stars because the food is good with big portions but the service is horrible. Went to lunch on a Wednesday. There were 9 tables either waiting for food or service and only 1 server on the floor at a time if we were lucky. Other tables Waited 54 minutes for food but there were 5 people in the kitchen. Waitstaff was horrible. Had to ask multiple times for drink refills, to go boxes (which we had to go get from the server station), and our bill. Server never returned to pick up the card for payment and we ended up leaving cash which meant a $3 tip and that was too much. As a person that if they get hair in their food won't eat at all...I wish a business like this that you see the cooks would take precaution to cover their hair and facial hair. I have dined here multiple times. The service is usually very good. The food is usually very good. The prices are very fair. Today my eggs were undercooked. I ordered over medium and some of the whites were still clear. Normally I'd just have it replaced and never think about it again. Today however the operator decided to tell me I was wrong and the eggs were perfectly the way I ordered them. They were not. A very unfortunate customer service experience. My wife and I moved here shortly before Christmas and checked our Abras on a whim in the post move in haze of not wanting to cook or unpack immediately after moving. We've been her for six months now and have averaged making it out here at least once a month since we first found it. Every time we have friends visit with enough time in their stay to enjoy dining here, we take them. Hands down the best chicken fried steak I've ever had in my entire life. Absolutely phenomenal. My wife loves their sunfire omelette. And those mini waffles they give as a side are just absolutely outstanding paired with the buttermilk syrup they add to it. If you order the short stack please note it's HUGE (and a little wasteful in my opinion so hopefully they reconsider this size or note that it should be shared?) Stopped here for breakfast on our way to Montana. Service was quick and friendly. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak. It was overdone, and his hash browns were super crunchy. This place still gets 5 stars. I'm pretty sure EVERYTHING you order will be great. I tried the Captain Crunch French Toast today and woah-- SO yummy!! It wasn't overly sweet and you got a good Captain Crunch flavor. I love their syrup, too! The chicken fried steak was absolutely delicious as well. They do such a great job with their breading and it was perfectly crispy and topped with gravy. Next time we will ask for extra gravy but it was still really good. And service was very attentive. Traveling from Yellowstone back home to California, we were greeted with a smile and a friendly "hi honey" by our sweet server, Kydance (sp?). She was helpful and attentive. Abras magic theme runs through everything from its decor to the amazing food. The atmosphere is energetic without being too much. I wish there was an Abras near me. I had the chicken fried steak with a side of the captain crunch French toast. The substantial chicken fried steak was delicious. Hubby had the California scramble with a side of mini waffles. He said his food was delicious and savory. BTW: shout out to the side option mini waffles. They come with raspberry sauce and some other I couldn't figure what it was. I ordered the extravagant Peach Cobbler French Toast! What a great way to start out my Mother's Day. It was DELICIOUS. My husband had the skillet bowl, which was equally as delicious. This was a great find! Kind of a hole-in-the-wall joint yet super cute inside. Food was amazing! Service was good. Ordered the Belgium waffle with the whipped cream and raspberries and WOW! It was Belgium waffle with an extra part of a waffle stacked on top. Lots of raspberry puree, fresh raspberries, and an abundance of whipped cream. Pretty sure the syrup was homemade. Good food, good price for the portions you receive. However, I will not be coming back. We planned a surprise breakfast for a friend of mine and had a table of 4 people total. Our full party arrived at 9:20am. This is important to note due to the fact that we were quite literally kicked out at 10:50am by a server named Brandy. We were absolutely speechless the first time she came to our table and quite rudely told us to leave because she had a big table waiting. I was still drinking my coffee when she told us to leave. Not 5 minutes later she came back, and told us to "take this to a coffee shop". When we told her that we were finishing up our coffee and that we were paying customers too, she replied by telling us that we had been there since 8am, and that they have people waiting. I spent 6 years in the service industry and have co managed a restaurant. I am ABSOLUTELY baffled at Brandy's audacity. There is a way to talk to people. There is a way to tactfully ask people to speed things up. She was the prime example of what NOT to do. 1.5 hours when factoring in time to order, wait time for food, time spent actually eating, paying, boxing up our food, and the time we sat casually chatting, this is not an outrageous amount of time. We were not over staying the welcome....which honestly shouldn't even be brought into question when you are going out to a Saturday morning breakfast. We will take Brandy's advice, and will take our business to a coffee shop next time. read more

What a fun place! My family was driving through on our way home and the French toast looked so cool so we decided to try it. I got a chicken fried steak that had the best gravy I've ever tasted and my husband got the peach French toast with ice cream (which I stole most of because it was so good). I wish so badly I remembered our waitresses name because I have never had better service at a restaurant. She was so sweet with our 1 year old. He loved interacting with her. I would eat there again if I didn't have the same waitress because I loved the food and decor.. but if she was there I would probably walk out.
