The tastings came with $15 credits for any bottles we purchased that day as well as a nicely decorated box of 4 chocolate truffles per person. We ended up buying some great tasting wines - The 2018 Madrigal (a blend of 3 varieties) and a Rose. I have been to NW Cellars previously and LOVE the Malbec and bought a bottle at that time. This place is hidden in back of a strip mall in the Totem Lake area and is worth a visit. Bob is a nice person who makes his own wines and really loves what he does. Give this place a try!!

Extremely disappointing experience at Cafe Veloce Kirkland. We placed our food order about 4 minutes before the last order time. The server entered the order into the tablet, but later came back and told us that the kitchen never received it due to a "human error." What was most disappointing was not just the mistake, but the way the situation was handled afterward. We understood that errors can happen, especially during a busy closing time. The manager apologized and offered the kids' pasta and one drink free, which we appreciate, but our main order was still not fulfilled because of an internal mistake. When my husband asked if there was any other restaurant open at that hour where we could get food, the manager's response was, "Google is your best friend." That response felt dismissive and lacked empathy, especially after we had already been inconvenienced by an error on the restaurant's side. Customers understand that mistakes happen, but the way a restaurant responds in those moments shows the level of care and service it provides. We left feeling extremely disappointed and unsupported. The interior is handsome and eclectic, exuding an inviting charm with its homestyle Italian decor, complete with classic red checkered tablecloths and even motorcycles. We were welcomed with complimentary bread and herb-infused butter to start. The extensive wine and cocktail list was impressive. The food menu, also impressive - pizza and pasta and apps and salads! We sampled several appetizers, and I indulged in the Stuffed Pork Loin Wrapped in Prosciutto ($15) with an addition of Gnocchi ($8), which was absolutely delightful. The red wine cream sauce was decadently rich and sweet, with the inclusion of raisins adding a uniquely delightful twist. The pork was filled with a scrumptious walnut stuffing. My BF and friend thoroughly enjoyed the beef bolognese ($23) and chicken parmesan ($24) as well. The portions were enormous! The atmosphere was refreshingly relaxed, with no pretentiousness. I only gave them 4 stars because I feel the prices should be a little more competitive, but I must say ... they are one of my faves when it comes to Italian Restaurants! The place is cozy inside with lots of cool things to look at. Seating is not too close together, the food is really good and the wait staff also serves as some good eye candy! They are also pretty friendly. The food is very tasty and they serve it in large portions. I always come home with leftovers. Their seafood seems fresh and the pasta is always made just right, not too soft or runny. If you like beer and wine, they have a huge selection. Even though this place is kind of hidden, they are pretty busy consistently. It's a nice place to take kids during the day, but at night, it's definitely the place to go for a date, especially if you like the person you are dining with. This has been one of my favorite places to go ever since I was a little kid, My whole family loves this place, and have been eating here for 15 or so years consistently. It was awesome when I was younger, just because it had Bomb Italian food and Pizza, and now that I'm of age, it has a awesome local rotating beers on tap, and a huge rotating wine list. An unpretentious eatery, serving an amazing Italian cuisine that leaves me satisfied. They are located on the edge of Totem Lake Pond, just South of the old Totem Lake Malls in Kirkland. Great food, especially the Lamb Lasagna washed down with one of their imported dark draft beers. Fair prices, great value, good food, and a staff that has mastered the art of hospitality. So many restaurants serve salmon halfway cooked or too soft in the center, which I personally don't prefer, so this was perfect for me. The couscous paired beautifully with it too. My husband ordered the special of the day, gnocchi with smoked salmon in a creamy sauce, and he loved it too. My daughter ordered pasta with a side of chicken. Service overall was okay, but unfortunately the chicken didn't arrive until we had basically finished dinner, which was disappointing since it was meant to come with her pasta. I also tried the cappuccino, and that was probably the weakest part of the meal. From an Italian restaurant, I was expecting a really good cup of coffee, but this one just didn't hit the mark for me. Overall, the food was delicious and the outdoor atmosphere was lovely. The salmon was definitely the highlight of my meal, and despite a couple of misses with the service timing and coffee, we still had a really nice evening.

I couldn't detect much--if any--truffle flavor, and the dish was quite bland. I added salt and lemon, which helped a little, but not enough to rescue it. The beet and arugula salad looked fresh and beautiful, but again, the flavor was very muted. I found myself reaching for balsamic and lemon to give it some life. I'm always happy to support a new local business, especially when I know the owner, and I truly enjoyed meeting Don and experiencing the hospitality. I also hope this feedback is taken in the spirit it's intended: the restaurant has a beautiful setting, lovely people, and some real potential--but today, the food needs a little more love and seasoning. Unfortunately, I don't think I'd order these particular dishes again. Today, I'm NOT a FAN ...for the food... But I'll happily give them another try down the road.

Caprese Panini - we took this to go and it was a soft bread with creamy pesto sauce, a touch of balsamic vinegar on the cheese.
