Beef Meatballs for the win!! So aside from this awesome place now having Chicken Meatballs they also have Beef Meatballs, and they are so tasty. We tried a little of everything the beef ragu 5/5 the beef meatballs 5/5 tofu with mushrooms and truffle 4/5 and the Milanese sandwich 4/5 (yes they have sandwiches now!) It's a great place to grab a meal with family, service is fairly quick, gets a bit warm sometimes but perhaps they didn't have the A/C's working just yet. Will be back

Due Cucina delivers consistently on quality pasta at a reasonable price. Definitely an old reliable for a casual meal that doesn't break the bank. I swung by on a Saturday night with some friends after 8PM and the store was pretty empty, but it sounds like they might have stopped doing open seating recently. Carbonara (4.5/5): Definitely the best of their pasta options. Super crunchy bits of guanciale with a super creamy, cheesy sauce. Thick and satisfying, especially with their bucatini if that's available. Polpette and Ragu (3.75/5): Tried these a couple times and they aren't bad, but don't blow my mind. The creamier options are just much richer and the tomato sauces are just a bit standard. Porchetta Sandwich (2/5): The sandwich is not good. Stick to the pasta. The fillings were cold, which was surprising, and while I actually quite liked the eggplant and green chimichurri-esque sauce, the focaccia is a crime. Insanely dry and not fluffy. Tiramisu (4.25/5): Actually, super delicious and comes in an adorable little mug. Not overly sweet, great light cream and melt in your mouth sponge, with a great balance of flavors.

Second time here, love the food and atmosphere. Love the fresh pastas and sauces. Ordered this tincture spinach ravioli and it did not disappoint. Quick service clean place.

Delicious food with friendly service that doesn't break the bank. There were four of us on our last visit and we got to try a variety of pastas and the porchetta sandwich. We love to eat family style, so it was nice to sample a wide range. My daughter loves the carbonara. The mushroom and truffle oil with spaghetti could have been more truffle-y. The porchetta sandwich had good flavors with the crispy focaccia, tender porchetta and marinated eggplant. Pasta is cooked al dente. If you want the pasta cooked longer, let them know. Order from the kiosk. This is a great location, especially when visiting Evergreen Hospital just up the hill. There are so many amenities in the Totem Lake Village.

Enjoyed being able to pick your pasta/sauce/meat and make your dish your own. The meal was tasty but nothing incredible. The place is super busy and so there is no longer open seating. The manager seemed a little on edge with the rush, and the fact people weren't used to having to wait to be seated.

Due Cucina has quickly become my favorite affordable Italian option in the Seattle area. They always have fresh in-house made pasta, super friendly service, and an open pasta making area to watch the chefs in action. This particular location in Totem Lake is no different, boasting a welcoming interior and plenty of great food. Ordering is easy via the kiosks in front. Unlike other restaurants that rely on kiosks and feel entirely impersonal, at Due Cucina, the FOH employees actually interact with customers and are happy to answer any questions. Seating can be a bit of a pain though - we were lucky in that a table cleared up right after we placed our order. For this trip, we ordered two dishes: Polpette w/ Creste Di Gallo ($13.90) - This dish comes with four beef meatballs, all of which soft and tender, and pleasing to eat. They are quite airy, made with very finely pressed meat emulsified in filler, giving a meaty and somewhat fresh herbal flavor. They are soft but not spongy like a commercial frozen meatball, so they still have a bit of substance to them. The balls seem to be handmade, given how they aren't perfect spheres. The pasta, creste di gallo in this case, comes as 1 star firmness, the least al dente option, by default. I would consider it to be similar to most Italian restaurants in firmness. The sauce is nice with a good mixture of cooked down tomatoes and herbs. It's not too acidic and has a well developed flavor with plenty of umami. I'd say the salt levels are a bit too high for my tastes and definitely way higher than any homemade sauce. Still good though! (5/5) Basil Pesto w/ Casarecce ($13.90) - Casarecce is kind of like gemelli. It's cooked to 2 star firmness, so it definitely gives a very firm bite, firmer than most other places. The casarecce isn't the most consistent in size, with some pieces being shorter or longer, and with some pieces not being as tightly twisted as others. This means the cook isn't the most even as well, so some pieces are maybe closer to 3* firmness, and some closer to 1*. I would probably not get this pasta shape again due to the inconsistency. Otherwise, the dish is quite good. The pasta is tossed in a fresh basil pesto and sprinkled with additional parmigiano reggiano, not to mention the slow roasted cherry tomatoes adorning the top, boosting even further the salty umami qualities of the pesto. It all comes together into a flavorful bite. (4/5) I happened to notice they had a jar of Sichuan peppercorns in the kitchen and asked the chef about it. Apparently they use it in the cacio e pepe! That's definitely something I'll have to try in the future. A hearty lunch for two at an Italian place for well under $40 after tax and tip. Not to mention an additional 20% discount from buying gift cards at Costco. This is the best quality to price ratio for pasta in the area. There's no need for me to further wax poetic about this small Seattle-based chain. It's a restaurant that I will definitely be revisiting time and time again. Bathrooms - Two unisex rooms

Came here on a Sunday night and it wasn't too busy. Love the super casual vibe here. We have a toddler and dining at a nice Italian restaurant would not fly. We were greeted by a really nice worker, Ryan? He was definitely giving manager vibes. I never dined in before especially here so he gave us the spiel of how the process worked. We got the kids meal which included regular portion of noodles (so worth it to have left overs) plus a juice. They even had stickers for kiddos. A nice added bonus. I got the mushroom truffle pasta and my husband got the lasagna. We also got a side of meatballs and focaccia. Focaccia is perfect for dipping. Food came out pretty quickly which is great for a hungry toddler. Pasta had the perfect al dente texture. Would definitely come back!

Really fast and friendly service here. They were packed when I came around dinner time on a Saturday but they made sure to get everyones name down and get you seated as soon as possible. Food to order was good and it was very good value. None of it wowed me but I would recommend this place for good value and fresh and enjoyable food. The sandwich was big and had a lot of meat but could use some more sauce or seasoning. The salad was great. The restaurant had tons of seating. You pick up your food at the kitchen counter and grab your own utensils and water!

Carbonara with chicken meatballs and gluten free noodles
    Mei Jie W.

The carbonara with gluten free noodles looked and tasted like kraft Mac and cheese... the noodles were very undercook and the sauce was on the bland side. The only thing that was good was the additional chicken meatballs I added in. It was soft and seasoned well. Luckily you can tell them to adjust the cooking time of your noodles, I believe. And there's plenty of seats, large portions, and free water cups. It's also conveniently located at the mall.

Share tables if it gets too crowded since limited seating especially at lunch. Self serve and bus yourself. They make their own pasta so that's fun to watch. Ordered the short rib pasta and that was good. Also got the carbonara but it was extremely salty. The sauce was salty and the bacon was hard blocks of salt. Pasta is cooked very firm normally. Maybe you can add a note on the kiosk to cook more if you want the regular pasta softness. Modern decorations.

This is a great fast casual Italian restaurant that I go when I am craving pasta. You order at the counter and then there is a screen that lets you know when the order is ready to pick up. I believe everything is made from scratch and the ingredients taste fresh and delicious. They offer a variety of different pastas and sauces and add-ons so you can customize to your liking.

This is an excellent Italian Restaurant. The pasta is fresh and delicious, and the cannolis (I tried both the chocolate and pistachio) are outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The ladies at the stand are always very friendly and helpful in their suggestions (such as which type of sauce to pair with the pasta, or the flavor of the pasta or ravioli filling). Thus far, we've gotten the egg bucatini, the red pepper bucatini, the seasonal gnocchi, and the dreamy garlic spread. Generally, I'm not a big fan of fresh pasta, because many times, I feel it gets too mushy (or perhaps it is the quality of the pasta). La Pasta fresh pasta has never been mushy; it has that imperative al dente bite-- a clear sign of good quality pasta. The gnocchi is flavorful and pairs well with the dreamy garlic spread. Looking forward to trying the pumpkin ravioli later in the week. The price is comparable to the fresh pasta you would find at a specialty store, like Whole Foods, Metropolitan Market, or PCC Markets-- however, La Pasta's quality is far superior. La Pasta products are worth the price. We look forward to trying any new products, as well as upcoming seasonals. We also hope that they may have a brick and mortar store in the future on the Eastside for the farmer's market offseason.

The restaurant looks big and roomy. They have parking on their lot; the streets nearby offer parking, too. My BIL used to love this place because they have "cheese-on-everything". The Food: Italian Sausage hot oven grinder - 2 Stars Menu: spicy Italian sausage, marinara, green peppers & cheese Hubby had pizza in his mind when he choice this grinder, meaning the individual chunk (globs?) of sausage meat. The Italian sausage was literally a sausage sliced in half and placed in the sandwich. He said it tasted like a polish sausage with hot dog texture (yikes). It also has a pale red/pink color that resembles a hot dog (yikes again). The toasty bread that we saw in other Yelp photos was less so for both of our sandwiches. They were toasted but much softer/limp when we unwrapped our sandwiches. Vegetarian hot oven grinder - 4 Stars Menu: mayo, lettuce, cheese, onions, green peppers, black olives, tomatoes, mushrooms & seasoning I asked if there's a half cheese option. She said they can do light cheese. My grinder is well filled with all sorts of veggies with discernible cheese. It's fine by me really. I asked for no mayo, and I added my own hot sauce at home. It tasted quite good that way. The next time I take-out grinders again, I will bake them in the oven to brown the bread a bit. These sandwiches lost some texture on the way home. Note the website says $13.95 for all grinders. The Yelp online ordering says $16.95 instead. I didn't ask for a receipt, so I have no idea what the correct price is.

The mussels tasted completely off and had a bad smell. I tried them myself and they were fishy, not how mussels are supposed to taste. We told our waiter, and he kind of brushed it off, saying they get their seafood in daily and that mussels can sometimes be "that way." He gave no apology and no real acknowledgment to the issue, but just cleared our plates and walked away. To top it all off, they were out of the Panna Cotta, which was the dessert I'd been looking forward to. The other options didn't appeal to us as much, but we settled for them anyway. For the main course, my love always orders the triple mushroom ravioli, and I go for the gamberoni linguine (no salt add on)--both are absolutely perfect.

Im very sorry i have to be honest with my visit. I came yesterday and it's my first time visit this…read morerestaurant. The ambiance its making me super happy by the time we step in. very nice restaurant. The food its delicious. But im very sad with the service. The server asking if we want the drink to be on the rocks or not? And we said yes. But the drink dont come "on the rocks". So We ask the server with the beidge color shirt, and he said our drinks its on the rocks. While on the rocks means a drink is served over ice cubes. When our drink its served on beer glass with ice that already crush or shake together with the drink. If the drink dont come in options "on the rocks" we're totally okay. Maybe saying "my apologies, the drink don't come in options on the rocks, should i make a change" or anything. But the server with the beige shirt teaching us that our drinks is served "on the rocks". It looks like he's teaching us back about our order. while our server its the one giving us the options for that. I do feel embarrassed about this. But it's ok. This place its just not going to be to our recommendation because of the server. Also the server should not took the menu and read whats inside the dish in front of us. When i firm about what i order. I think we are very in awkward situation. The server should more knowledge about the menu more than us.

Came here for Seattle Restaurant Week and this ended up being really, really good…read more The calamari was ridiculous good way. Super tender (without losing texture), especially the tentacles, and the olives were so soft they almost just melt in your mouth. The sauce was so good we basically wiped the plate clean with bread without even thinking. The porcini risotto was fascinating. First bite had me wondering if it was a little to salty, and then it just... opened up. Turned into this really nice earthy, savory, slightly sweet thing. Kept getting better the more I ate. The seafood pasta carried that same sense of layering. It's not just "seafood flavor," but a combination of natural sweetness, umami, and brightness that made each bite feel complete. Our waitress Jennifer was super friendly and made the whole experience really easy and comfortable. We chatted with the owner, Michele, who mentioned he ran restaurants in Italy for 23 years, which honestly explains a lot. He suggested swapping our Aperol Spritz for a Campari version so it wouldn't be too sweet, and he was absolutely right. It paired beautifully with the food and kept everything feeling clean and balanced. Honestly, we're a bit spoiled when it comes to cocktails (we spend way too much time at Kro Bar), but even then we both felt their drinks had real thought and intention behind them. We ended the meal with limoncello, which felt like the perfect reset.

I live in the area and I frequent places right next…read moreto this restaurant and I want to order from it more but my last couple of experiences have been tainted a bit because when I visited there a few months ago, there was a young woman working there who has long dark hair and is on the thinner side. My friend and myself walked in and asked her for a table at the host stand. She asked if we had a reservation and I said no, and she immediately acted strangely and almost in a defensive way, and gave some strange glaring kind of look. The restaurant wasn't very busy at the moment and just had a couple of tables. I was very surprised of her reaction. We were kind of confused by this, and then we were seated and had dinner and then had some strange interactions with her in the restaurant during this time. She continued to give glaring looks and acted in an angry and reluctant way if we asked for anything such as a water refill. It's been months since that night, but we haven't forgotten it. Then we decided to give the restaurant another chance recently, and she was working, and we were seated at a table by another person, but she followed us to the table while we were being seated , and she then grabbed the tablecloth from the table next to where we were being seated, and she pulled the it off quickly and effectively whipped me with the tablecloth. She didn't seem to notice as she stormed off. I got the worst feeling about being there after that and we were debating whether to just leave. She was not the one who waited on us, but she proceeded to come back into the area of where we are seated and never smile, or look at us, but do things with the items on the table next to us in a strange way. It almost seems like she was listening to us talk. My friend and I had a horribly weird vibe which I've never experienced before by a service person at a restaurant. We both agreed we'd probably not return there which is unfortunate. We love the location and the food. I would suggest to the owners to reevaluate who has customer facing roles in your restaurant. It's a hospitality/service-oriented business. Treating friendly and paying customers like they're an enemy is not the best approach.
