I'm an airport employee and I always get my cappuccino from them. I guess one could say I'm a regular customer. During the holiday travel, as one would expect, the lines get long so I come to work a bit early to get my cappuccino. However, the last 2 times the line was so long and it took forever because they allowed people to cut in front without standing in line. Once, I was in a hurry, so I did the same and just walked up to an open register, after I noticed other people were doing same. The guy at the register scolded me for cutting in; however, he did not scold anyone else. It was embarrassing. It was obvious I'm an employee since I was in my uniform. During Covid, when business was slow, I'm quite sure that it was airport employees who kept the businesses going, yet they treat us like garbage. Today, I was again standing in a long line which took about 20 mins for me to finally be able to order. I counted 5 people just walk right up to the counter and order. By the time I was called to step up, I had 5 mins to spare. I mentioned to the employee that they are allowing people to cut in when others are waiting 20 mins or more and that's not fair, and she started yelling at me and in anger threw something on the counter! Then she yelled saying that maybe I want her job?! I replied that I already have one at which I need to be in less than 5 mins. After I was yelled at before, I thought I'd give it one more try, but after today- they lost a regular customer. I'm sure they don't read these reviews because they don't rely on repeat customers as majority of their customers are just one time pass-through customers. The thing about being an airport employee, we know a lot of other airport employees and word spreads. I'll make sure that my colleagues know how poorly they treat us so they don't spend their money at that's place like I did for years. I'll take my money elsewhere or I'll just start bringing my own coffee from home. Let's see how much they won't get from me anymore: $3.5 x 4 (days per week)= $14; $14 x 4 (weeks in a month)= $56; $56 x 12 (months) = $672 per year. I've been getting my coffee from them for years. Di-effing-sgusting. Got a chicken quesadilla and the chicken looked so gross and fake. It almost had a slimy consistency and defínitely didn't feel fresh or real. Probably precooked chicken but not high quality. The onions were raw and huge. The best part of my order was the water. Never again. read more

Awful. Ordered 2 iced coffees and 2 ham, egg, and cheese croissants. Got all the way to our gate to discover we were given iced tea, not coffee. Sandwiches were cold with overcooked egg, and no ham or cheese in them. If we didn't have a flight, we would go back and return all of it. $26 went into the garbage. read more

The lady that checked us out this morning was SO MEAN AND RUDE. We walked up and placed our order, and she gave us a blank stare and told us to order again. My mom repeated herself very confused and the lady replied "That's better. That's how you place an order." As two people that have owned and worked in the food industry, please let me tell you, we know how to treat customers and people who work in the service industry correctly. This lady was HORRIBLE and was glaring at us and staring like a complete psycho. She even called the next guest up while we were still standing there and flung the food at us. 10/10 avoid this place if you want to get your trip started on the right foot. Wow- talk about the worst customer service ever! As I arrive to order coffee, the cashier is speaking animatedly in another language to her colleague. Patiently waiting. she finally comes up to the register, does not say hello, does not even acknowledge me in any way, just points to the credit card machine for me to insert the card after I ask for a medium coffee- all the while continuing her conversation in another language to the other colleague. She hands me the receipt without a word or even a smile, turns away and continues the conversation. Clearly she is either having a horrible day or is a horrible person. Not sure which. The whole transaction made me feel irrelevant. Have we gotten so callous that a business can't even acknowledge its customers? Apparently, Zoots thinks so. read more

I ordered a tuna salad sandwich. I thought it was tuna on a bed of lettuce, but she was holding two types of bread. Then I realized, it's tuna salad SANDWICH. Even better! I went to look for a place to sit down, and by the time I set my luggage & bag down, they were done. There must be a whole can of tuna in my sandwich! As far as the food goes - got a turkey sandwich for under $9. Medium sized, it didn't fill me up but it definitely satisfied my hunger for a little bit. The bread was fresh. Zoot was pretty solid for me. It's essentially a Potbelly's, but with higher prices. I like the toasted bread - it's soft yet crusty on top. The chicken breast was thin and a little dry, but when you eat everything together with the condiments, it goes together well. The chicken noodle soup was quite tasty, perhaps on the salty side if you are sensitive. Something to note: On my last visit, the man who made my sandwich forgot to put the meat in it. Luckily, I was eating in the food court - he found me shortly after I was seated and fixed it. It would have been terrible to haven gotten a sandwich with bread only! If you're in Concourse C right now, thinking about how unhealthy the McDonalds is you're about to order, stop. Make your way down do the food court and grab something from Cafe Zoot. Much healthier and much better. Compared to other options, this is a pretty good value for your money. My Italian sandwich was made quickly (5 minutes), oven baked, topped with crisp fresh vegetables, and ultimately delicious. The staff are super friendly and willing to answer questions about the menu one customize to your liking. Solid place to get breakfast in the United terminal at Ohare. Pretty good iced coffee, but they don't have anything over a 16oz. It is the same price as Starbucks or any of the other quick serve places in O'Hare. I like the croissants - heated up to order and a pretty good sized sandwich. The crust is nice and flaky and there is a good amount of meat and cheese inside.The service is usually pretty quick and the prices are quite fair for an airport. They have a pretty good selection of different coffees and it is easy to find right in the little food court. read more

I decided to eat here because it looks a lot like Potbelly. I ordered a combo sandwich on white bread with everything in it. Decently sized sandwich for the price I paid. It include a good amount of cheese and meat. I got my sandwich pretty quickly, though the employees had trouble understanding my order (sandwich with everything but sauce). My only complaint was the sandwich wasn't toasted enough to my liking. The cheese was not melted at all and the bread was just warmed- not crunchy. A perfectly adequate sandwich. There's not a whole heck of a lot in this area and I was short on time so after making a quick loop around my gate I settled on Cafe Zoot. They have model sandwiches set out that looked decent and they were cheaper ($7.49) than the pre-packaged grab & go sandwiches at the smaller stands out in the concourse ($9.99). I decided on the turkey sandwich. The first person in the sandwich-making line asked what bread and held up sliced sandwich bread and a sub roll that the display sandwiches were on. I opted for the sandwich bread as the roll was smaller than the display and looked half-frozen. The first person put some turkey and cheese on and sent it through the rolling toaster. At the other end another person puts on veggies. Sandwiches come with lettuce, tomato, onions, black olives, mustard, and Italian dressing. Maybe something else? I asked for mine without onions and the final product was onion-free. Service was also quick - I had my finished sandwich in 2-3 minutes which is great since I had about ten minutes to get food and get to my gate. Quality was, as described initially, adequate. It wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't any better than a sandwich you could make at home with grocery store ingredients. Sandwich bread was indistinguishable from Brownberry/Oroweat, meat was on par with deli case turkey, toppings were what you'd find at Subway. I wouldn't go out of my way to find their place, but if I was in a similar time crunch I'd eat there again. read more

I tried this location on a very brief layover (approx 35 mins) at Chicago O'Hare. It was conveniently located next to my gate. To say I was disappointed and feel the product was horrible is putting it mildly. If I could give this place a -5, I would. I basically paid $8 for a bread and lettuce sandwich. I ordered a combo ham/turkey sandwich. It came with a slice of Swiss cheese, half a slice of ham and 3/4 slice of turkey. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting it to have two inches of luncheon meat on it but two slice of each meat and cheese would have been nice. I timed my order from the beginning to end and it was under five minutes. It was even toasted and loaded with veggies. Talk about fast and tasty. I ordered a combo turkey and ham sub with lettuce, tomatoes, olives, and hot peppers. The combination of the sub along with the mustard and Italian dressing was amazing. This place is not only delicious but the service is great especially when you have very little time to get to your next flight. They also serve bagels as well. Plenty of options. I actually chose the vegetarian. Plenty of veggies and you can add cheese. Do be careful when asking for condiments...ask them to go light on the mustard and/or Italian dressing.
