A warm local Georgian place which is owned by a super friendly and easy going owner with a simple but cute decor. The service is also great with the owner happy to recommend the dishes. I wanted to tick off the traditional Georgian dish, Adjaruli Khachapuri. It's basically a bread boat filled with cheese and raw egg yolk. It's a baked dish and is best eaten when hot. One needs to mix the raw egg yolk properly within the cheese and then devour it. The bread was easy to break with crisp sides while the cheese was really creamy and smooth. It basically felt like a better version of NYC cheese pizza minus the marinara, and I would happily choose this one over pizza! The dish is simple, filling and soul satisfying which made me love it. The prices too are pretty decent compared to the neighborhood they are located in. Overall an amazing experience with Georgian food, would definitely come back to try their Khinkali (dumplings) next time!

Georgian food! Yum. They even have tarkhun. You can order whatever they have ready or wait a few minutes for freshly baked food. The mushroom and spinach pastries are spectacular, and they have spinach and eggplant spreads. I will definitely be back to try all of the vegetarian menu items. There's quite a bit of counter seating or you can take things to go. Don't forget to get a grape nut sweet :)

easy grab and go place as there's not that much seating inside. The workers were very kind. bright and open atmosphere. I got the vegan spinach pie for six dollars and it was very tasty, loved the crust surrounding it. it was warmed up for me and the crust was still crunchy which was a +1 for me. kinda got sick of eating the spinach filling the more i ate it but still good overall!!

Leave it to a city like New York City to help make Georgian food accessible. Cities have sit-down Georgian restaurants, but this spot is more fast-casual. It's a tiny spot with friendly service. Pictures of the dishes decorate the walls, but a server is more than welcome to recommend items. My wife and I split a khachapuri, warm flat bread from the oven with cheese, butter and egg. Mix it together for cheesy goodness. It was delicious! There are tables inside or you can get your order to go.

great hospitality - the worker was so friendly and accommodating. She explained everything on the menu to me :') great food - I got the beef stew for myself but I def want to come back for the other pastries. The side of bread was probably my favorite bc it was HOT, perfectly salted, crunchy outside & soft inside. Divine smell. Nice ambiance - nice chill setting and v clean. Was skeptical to try something new but I 100% recommend

The guy at @cafedelianyc quickly persuaded me into ordering these Georgian dumplings, and he was right! They were delicious! Loved the fillings with meat, herbs, and spices. They were filled with hot broth as well!

Whenever I visit the city, I always eat in my tried-and-tested places, as well as try something new. For this trip, I finally managed to stop by this little Georgian cafe and taste their dishes. I wasn't disappointed. We sampled their famous cheese pizza and left wanting for more. It was as good as it looked. To be healthy, we also ordered the spinach and beet walnut salad; those little balls were delicious. Too bad I don't live in the city anymore coz this place offers delectable goodies at affordable prices. No complaints on the service. I think they even give discounts to NYU students and staff if I recall correctly.

Casual Georgian food near me, finally. This place is pretty great in terms of quality and price. I've tried: Penovani lobiani (bean pie): 4/5 Spinach cheese pie: 5/5 Chakhokhbili chicken stew: 5/5 Cheesy corn bread with spinach salad: 3.5/5 Honey cake: 5/5. Cheesy corn bread was kind of a letdown, it was not as soft and buttery as Oda House. Maybe that's just because in comparison everything else is so good. Also, sometimes you're served the food already cut into little kid-size bits which is annoying... I can cut my own food. But I mean, I'm still going to try the entire menu.

After knowing that it was my first visit, the girl who took my order patiently walked me through the main options and explained what the items were like. I ended up getting the eggplant walnut rolls and the dips, which came in a set of two of the same flavor, but she kindly offered to mix one spinach and one beet dip for me! The eggplant walnut rolls were really good, though rather oily, and the dips were good as well - subtle and natural flavors, not overly processed. I actually liked the beet one more though I'm not a fan of beets! I also got to try the mushroom pie, which was SO good. The pastry part was perfectly doughy and flaky, filled with generous amount of sautéed mushrooms. I really appreciated that everything tasted natural and subtle. It's a small storefront but spacious and very clean. Their customer service is absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend!

Short review: Fantastic cheap Georgian food with very nice staff. Would recommend their khachapuri, pkhali/spinach dip, and honey cake and I plan on going back to try a lot more of their dishes (khinkali/soup dumplings and their stews in particular.) I walked here with another after seeing the glowing reviews and everything listed is accurate and more. I'm quite familiar with Georgian food and this is easily some of the best in the city at a lower price point than most Georgian places outside of a few hole in the wall bakeries in Brooklyn. The staff here is super nice and accommodating (almost a bit too much so with one of the guys (I believe the owner) giving away things to us and others) and they also explain the menu patiently for those unfamiliar. Before ordering, they had samples of some of their desserts. Churchkhela/grape and walnut "candle:" The version here was a lot softer than others probably as it was fresher. Unique texture and tasty Qada/Kada cake: A good buttery/sugary cake. Good version of it also. They also had a sample of their cigarette cake (which also has walnuts and raisins among other things) which the other person enjoyed. We decided to order a bunch of different appetizers. Along with the rest of the menu, they had a special mushroom pie of the day which we ordered along with a few other things while waiting for their khachapuri. Spreads: Pkhali/vegetable spreads with walnuts: The very accommodating staff allowed us to get one each of their spinach and beet spreads. As per usual, I preferred the spinach version which is excellent here but both were fantastic. Badridzhani Nigvsit/Eggplant with walnut sauce: Also well made. Better texture than the other places around there. Chvishtari/corn bread with cheese: They gave us each one for free which was very nice of them. It's not my favorite thing but they make quite a good version here. Pies: Mushroom pie: Don't know the Georgian word for it. This was a special. The mushrooms had some wonderful roasted flavors. Would recommend they add it to the menu. Mkhlovani/Spinach pie: Good version. Good texture though I preferred the mushroom version Adjaruli Khachapuri/bread boat with cheese/egg/butter: This comes out with an egg yolk in the middle. You put the butter in and then mix everything together. Excellent version; especially for the price. It's probably the most famous Georgian dish and for good reason. Very cheesy and rich and you could make a meal out of it alone. We decided to get dessert to go and the man again gave us two of their offerings for free. She wanted the chocolate cream cake while I got the honey cake and we cut a small part of each. The former was quite good being moist and better than expected (but then again everything was good here so I don't know why I expected different.) The honey cake here is fantastic. Very moist and not overly sweet and the best version in Manhattan by a mile. Their drink selection is what you find in other Georgian spots and the prices are similarly pretty cheap. Good lemonades (get the pear one) and borjomi along with some other things I didn't recognize. This small place is yet another good restaurant on 8th. Very nice staff and the food is both affordable and delicious. Great place to introduce people to Georgian food and highly recommended. Everything was either good or fantastic. Will go back (presumably multiple times) to sample the rest of the menu. Upper 4.

The Spinach & Beet salad felt more like a dip or spread, YUM! Sliced Eggplant wrap walnut thingy was tasty too. Tried the Grape dessert it was really interesting! My first time, it's grape juice mix with flour, then harden somehow becomes line gummy sorta. Very interesting texture in a good way. Staff was super friendly.

What makes Cafedelia is the service. Jeez. Warmer than the complementary tea I was served. The staff will explain all the menu options if you've never had Georgian food before and (for now) offer samplings of the various desserts. Fantastic place to stop by for a quick meal (though some items require an extra wait as they're prepared fresh). Do it! Lemon ginger tea Cheesy pastry flakes in mouth Satisfied again

    Wesley K.

It was still good as I got the spinach pastry and also the parsley carrot mushroom soup. I would not get the soup again as it was bit basic. The pastry wasn't bad, but some of their items felt inflated as I was still hungry after the meal. Would still come back but order the usuals.

I got to try the Adjaruli khachapuri, Adjaruli ayran, khinkali, and matsoni yogurt, as dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious and very fairly priced, in my opinion. The khachapuri was a Georgian classic, and recommended by the staff. They mixed it right in front of me! Very cheesy, very evenly distributed surprisingly. The edges are buttery and still crispy, my favorite part! You can dip them in the middle as well. Very very good. The khinkali were equally delicious. 4 juicy dumplings with a top that makes them perfect for flipping, drinking the juice, and then eating the whole thing. Staff gave directions on the process! It's still messy, but well worth it. The filling and the soup are so flavorful and tender, just perfect. Earlier, I went to another NYC restaurant to try ayran, and discovered I was obsessed with it, so I ordered it here too. It's supposed to be their Georgian take on it. Not sure how authentic it is, but it was still pretty tasty. I do think I preferred the other place more, but the presentation on this one (came in a clay container, foamy at the top) was great. Finally, I ended the meal with some delicious yogurt as a dessert: Matsoni. Absolutely loved it. Very creamy, slights undertones of sweetness. They added honey and almonds as well. Just perfect. When I got to the Williamsburg location and observed the door locked, lights off, and the interior like nobody was there (with no indication there would be no one coming), I was crestfallen. This restaurant defined popular Georgian food. It is one of the reasons I make a trek out to a neighborhood that I would not otherwise dare set foot in for more than an extended period of time. When I observed they also have a Manhattan location, I figured, okay, try them out, what the hell, maybe it will be fine. Three subway lines later (okay, I could have done it in two), and here is the result. Firstly, the service is amazing. The entire wait staff is warm, welcoming, intelligent, and passionate about what is served out of their kitchen. Liza may not be working here (or at least was not there during the time I was here), but the service is still first rate. Secondly, the interior space is more intimate than the Williamsburg location. It feels more Manhattan-y than Williamsburg-y, if that makes sense. Now that I got the non-food stuff out of the way, here comes the part you came for, the meal. I ordered five things here. You will see why later, it will make sense to you by the end. Khachapuri: My new favorite snack is a must at any Georgian restaurant. To say this is a calzone or a stromboli is being condescending to this lovely cheeseboat (had to do it). It is a little on the small side, but the cheese and texture is beautiful and I never once had to pick up a fork to eat it. Your server will even mix everything for you if you ask. Grade: A- Khinkali: Six to an order, just like at the Williamsburg location, they are tasty, but it is looser. They fall apart too quickly upon that first nibble. I know not to eat the knot, because when my server took my plate away after I was done eating them, he smiled wryly at me, knowing I did it right. Grade: B Chakapuli: Probably the weakest thing I ordered, the lamb is tasty, but also super fatty and super tender. I deliberately did not eat the sauce and some of the other bits because of the richness and the onions that were at the bottom of the dish. The fact it comes with two nice pieces of bread helps mitigate things, but I played it smart by just taking the big stuff and using the bread as a binder. Grade: B- Kharcho: A staple at any Georgian restaurant, this is essentially Lagman soup, but they use rice instead of noodles as their carb weapon of choice. The lamb is beautiful and the broth has a beautiful aroma and fragrance. It also comes with two nice pieces of bread to really soak in more flavor. This balanced out the out of balance Chakapuli. Grade: B+ Georgian White Wine Flight: Yes, I got a flight, four glasses of the restaurant's finest white wines. I had a glass for each of the meals that I ate. Each wine has its own character. My server even gave me a suggestion on how to go about drinking them. I know very little about wine, so I will not go much further than this. However, each wine I tasted, tasted better than the previous one. I do know Georgia is known for its wine, and by the end of the flight, I was starting to see why... maybe. Grade: A- That is not all. I also ordered a Honey Cake for dessert, because I know all too well that honey is the great equalizer in all things savory. This will put it all in its place, like Godzilla restoring the balance in an inhumane world. Honey Cake: One bite told me all I needed to know. It is outstanding. Well balanced, terrific flavor, outstanding texture, ridiculously, out of bounds in terms of how it should look and feel. This dessert may have ruined all things dessert for me for the time being. It is simply the best way to end a meal, and to go out on a high note. Grade: A+ -- Some of you may be saying, why would you do this? Why would you go all the way out here for this? 1.) Because I can, 2.) The experience is largely outstanding, and 3.) It is not always about those two, it is the adventure, and eating what I ate here gave me a sense of adventure, from start to finish. Stay classy Cheeseboat, I know you will be just fine until the Williamsburg location reopens, if it ever does. If not, your Manhattan location will do you justice.

Food is excellent but HEAVY. This is a great place to come…read morewith a group and try stuff. As a solo? The blinchiki khorchit, crepe with meat, that's pan fried was fresh made. Burnt butter or oil is not my fave, for smell or taste. They were a bit over seared in the pan. Without some mtsnili, pickled or brined veggies, something more acidic or probiotic, like pickled cabbage, fermented cucumbers, pickled green tomatoes, Jonjoli, or even Garlic, peppers, or wild herbs in vinegar,as a contrast on the plate? The dish became monotonous, heavy, and uninteresting, after a few bites. The Kazbegi Lager is very popular in Georgia, and it helped a bit, but it's not a particularly remarkable beer. Harmony and balance makes great food better. People come for the cheeseboats, the restaurant namesake, and khinkali, the classic soup dumplings. Most of the menu is meant to be shared. Perhaps best to return with 4-5 other people to properly experience it. Service was pleasant, and prompt. Waiter should probably ask if you want to take extra home. There's a lightly methane odor that is unfortunately second nature to old buildings in Hell's Kitchen. Doesn't help the food's appeal much either.

We made a reservation for 8p and arrived a couple of minutes early but the restaurant was relatively empty so it was quick to get a table. We ordered the eggplant appetizer, the Georgian salad, the mushroom dumplings, and the cheese and spinach baked good. The eggplant and salad both came outburst and both were good in terms of size and flavor. The salad had a good dressing which complimented it and did not overpower it. The eggplant was really good but would've been better with bread, so we requested bread and it was an additional charge and some pieces were very chewy and a bit hard to chew. The baked good came out afterwards and it was a combo between a pizza and phyllo dough. The portion size was really good and the flavor was decent albeit a bit bland. The mushroom dumplings were also good size and came with 4 pieces with sour cream on the side. The portion size was good and the flavor of the dough was good, the inside was also decent but lacked some flavor. Overall good flavor and portion size of food. A bit bland but overall good
