Staff is so friendly. The restaurant itself is spotless and the menu organization is so visually pleasing. The prices are really fair, bordering on a steal. I mean getting a cheeseboat for 14 bucks is almost half the cost of Cheeseboat in Brooklyn and just about the same size. The cheeseboat is made fresh to order and the bread is crisp and absolutely perfect. The pastries are maybe six bucks and packed with filling. The honey cake is amazing.

A warm local Georgian place which is owned by a super friendly and easy going owner with a simple but cute decor. The service is also great with the owner happy to recommend the dishes. I wanted to tick off the traditional Georgian dish, Adjaruli Khachapuri. It's basically a bread boat filled with cheese and raw egg yolk. It's a baked dish and is best eaten when hot. One needs to mix the raw egg yolk properly within the cheese and then devour it. The bread was easy to break with crisp sides while the cheese was really creamy and smooth. It basically felt like a better version of NYC cheese pizza minus the marinara, and I would happily choose this one over pizza! The dish is simple, filling and soul satisfying which made me love it. The prices too are pretty decent compared to the neighborhood they are located in. Overall an amazing experience with Georgian food, would definitely come back to try their Khinkali (dumplings) next time!

Georgian food! Yum. They even have tarkhun. You can order whatever they have ready or wait a few minutes for freshly baked food. The mushroom and spinach pastries are spectacular, and they have spinach and eggplant spreads. I will definitely be back to try all of the vegetarian menu items. There's quite a bit of counter seating or you can take things to go. Don't forget to get a grape nut sweet :)

easy grab and go place as there's not that much seating inside. The workers were very kind. bright and open atmosphere. I got the vegan spinach pie for six dollars and it was very tasty, loved the crust surrounding it. it was warmed up for me and the crust was still crunchy which was a +1 for me. kinda got sick of eating the spinach filling the more i ate it but still good overall!!

Leave it to a city like New York City to help make Georgian food accessible. Cities have sit-down Georgian restaurants, but this spot is more fast-casual. It's a tiny spot with friendly service. Pictures of the dishes decorate the walls, but a server is more than welcome to recommend items. My wife and I split a khachapuri, warm flat bread from the oven with cheese, butter and egg. Mix it together for cheesy goodness. It was delicious! There are tables inside or you can get your order to go.

The guy at @cafedelianyc quickly persuaded me into ordering these Georgian dumplings, and he was right! They were delicious! Loved the fillings with meat, herbs, and spices. They were filled with hot broth as well!

Whenever I visit the city, I always eat in my tried-and-tested places, as well as try something new. For this trip, I finally managed to stop by this little Georgian cafe and taste their dishes. I wasn't disappointed. We sampled their famous cheese pizza and left wanting for more. It was as good as it looked. To be healthy, we also ordered the spinach and beet walnut salad; those little balls were delicious. Too bad I don't live in the city anymore coz this place offers delectable goodies at affordable prices. No complaints on the service. I think they even give discounts to NYU students and staff if I recall correctly.

Casual Georgian food near me, finally. This place is pretty great in terms of quality and price. I've tried: Penovani lobiani (bean pie): 4/5 Spinach cheese pie: 5/5 Chakhokhbili chicken stew: 5/5 Cheesy corn bread with spinach salad: 3.5/5 Honey cake: 5/5. Cheesy corn bread was kind of a letdown, it was not as soft and buttery as Oda House. Maybe that's just because in comparison everything else is so good. Also, sometimes you're served the food already cut into little kid-size bits which is annoying... I can cut my own food. But I mean, I'm still going to try the entire menu.

After knowing that it was my first visit, the girl who took my order patiently walked me through the main options and explained what the items were like. I ended up getting the eggplant walnut rolls and the dips, which came in a set of two of the same flavor, but she kindly offered to mix one spinach and one beet dip for me! The eggplant walnut rolls were really good, though rather oily, and the dips were good as well - subtle and natural flavors, not overly processed. I actually liked the beet one more though I'm not a fan of beets! I also got to try the mushroom pie, which was SO good. The pastry part was perfectly doughy and flaky, filled with generous amount of sautéed mushrooms. I really appreciated that everything tasted natural and subtle. It's a small storefront but spacious and very clean. Their customer service is absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend!

Short review: Fantastic cheap Georgian food with very nice staff. Would recommend their khachapuri, pkhali/spinach dip, and honey cake and I plan on going back to try a lot more of their dishes (khinkali/soup dumplings and their stews in particular.) I walked here with another after seeing the glowing reviews and everything listed is accurate and more. I'm quite familiar with Georgian food and this is easily some of the best in the city at a lower price point than most Georgian places outside of a few hole in the wall bakeries in Brooklyn. The staff here is super nice and accommodating (almost a bit too much so with one of the guys (I believe the owner) giving away things to us and others) and they also explain the menu patiently for those unfamiliar. Before ordering, they had samples of some of their desserts. Churchkhela/grape and walnut "candle:" The version here was a lot softer than others probably as it was fresher. Unique texture and tasty Qada/Kada cake: A good buttery/sugary cake. Good version of it also. They also had a sample of their cigarette cake (which also has walnuts and raisins among other things) which the other person enjoyed. We decided to order a bunch of different appetizers. Along with the rest of the menu, they had a special mushroom pie of the day which we ordered along with a few other things while waiting for their khachapuri. Spreads: Pkhali/vegetable spreads with walnuts: The very accommodating staff allowed us to get one each of their spinach and beet spreads. As per usual, I preferred the spinach version which is excellent here but both were fantastic. Badridzhani Nigvsit/Eggplant with walnut sauce: Also well made. Better texture than the other places around there. Chvishtari/corn bread with cheese: They gave us each one for free which was very nice of them. It's not my favorite thing but they make quite a good version here. Pies: Mushroom pie: Don't know the Georgian word for it. This was a special. The mushrooms had some wonderful roasted flavors. Would recommend they add it to the menu. Mkhlovani/Spinach pie: Good version. Good texture though I preferred the mushroom version Adjaruli Khachapuri/bread boat with cheese/egg/butter: This comes out with an egg yolk in the middle. You put the butter in and then mix everything together. Excellent version; especially for the price. It's probably the most famous Georgian dish and for good reason. Very cheesy and rich and you could make a meal out of it alone. We decided to get dessert to go and the man again gave us two of their offerings for free. She wanted the chocolate cream cake while I got the honey cake and we cut a small part of each. The former was quite good being moist and better than expected (but then again everything was good here so I don't know why I expected different.) The honey cake here is fantastic. Very moist and not overly sweet and the best version in Manhattan by a mile. Their drink selection is what you find in other Georgian spots and the prices are similarly pretty cheap. Good lemonades (get the pear one) and borjomi along with some other things I didn't recognize. This small place is yet another good restaurant on 8th. Very nice staff and the food is both affordable and delicious. Great place to introduce people to Georgian food and highly recommended. Everything was either good or fantastic. Will go back (presumably multiple times) to sample the rest of the menu. Upper 4.

The Spinach & Beet salad felt more like a dip or spread, YUM! Sliced Eggplant wrap walnut thingy was tasty too. Tried the Grape dessert it was really interesting! My first time, it's grape juice mix with flour, then harden somehow becomes line gummy sorta. Very interesting texture in a good way. Staff was super friendly.

The staff will explain all the menu options if you've never had Georgian food before and (for now) offer samplings of the various desserts. I love this place, my husband and I love Georgian food and when I am too lazy to cook it myself, this place helps. Our classic set is lobio, kharcho and chakhokhbili. Sometimes we also take chashushuli and khachapuri. And in general we have tried almost all the menu. And everything is very homemade and tasty. I absolutely recommend this place. read more

I want to like this place so much more than I do. I've been here before (a couple years ago) and gotten hard chalky churchkhela, but coming here for Georgian food is so much easier than going to Brighton Beach, and it's one of my favorite cuisines, so I really wanted to give them another chance. This time the churchkhela was great - a thin skin with a jellylike give and a strong grape-skin flavor - but the eggplant walnut rolls were thickly dry like peanut butter with barely any spice and the cheesy bread was also thick and dry. I felt like the entire meal ended up on the roof of my mouth. I guess a long rolling seasick ride on the D train is in my future. read more

Love this place! We came in two days in a row while we were attending a conference down the street. The staff is super friendly, and the food is both affordable and delicious. It's a mix of Eastern European and Georgian (Khachapuri!) street food classics and vegan alternatives. It's pretty challenging to find a place that does both, and this place is one of those rare gems. Highly recommend the pea soup. My four-year-old, who usually is a big bread and carbs in general person, picked this and loved it (as did I). We'll definitely be back! read more

I was hungry enough to feel faint and had 15 minutes before I had to be somewhere. I'm sure I came off as hurried when I asked the woman behind the counter if they had anything immediately ready to eat, but she was remarkably kind and patient with me--and also speedy, ha. About 90 seconds later I was out on the sidewalk stuffing a cheesy bread into my face. Saved my blood sugar and tasted far better than I would've settled for. Would definitely recommend. PS-What is up with Yelp reviewers being so dramatic when talking about a restaurant? Some of y'all crack me up talking about the glint of moonlight bouncing off the staff's eyes when they hand you a piece of bread. read more

Excellent Georgian fast casual at reasonable prices. They offer some of the national specialties, like khachapuri (cheese stuffed bread) and khinkali (meat dumpling); but many of the items are versions of traditional dishes adapted to make them easier to take out or eat on the go. The highlights for me are the vegan mushroom and spinach pie, the ajapsandali, which is a sort of differently spiced ratatouille, the walnut-stuffed eggplant rolls, and the lobio, a spicy bean stew that comes with pickles and chvishtari, a cheese-stuffed cornbread. Among the desserts, the grape/walnut-based churchkhela is very unusual and delicious, especially if you prefer less sweet desserts. The staff is great, very friendly and accommodating. The pretty illustrations on the wall do a great job of explaining the dishes; but the staff is more than happy to help you out if necessary. I would highly recommend it. read more

There aren't many Georgian restaurants so when I see one its a no brainer for me! They were patient with me considering I cant pronounce half of the menu. I shared the Chicken stew, flat cheese pie and Churchkhela (grape and walnuts) with a friend and was more than enough. Absolutely delicious! Gives you a home cook feel. This place is amazing. Food is high quality, affordable, and fulfilling. The staff are really friendly and it has the vibe of a mom and pop cafe. I had the imruli khachapuri, kupati and chicken stew. The imruli khachapuri was my favorite with the chicken stew a close second. If you are visiting, ask the staff what is special today. There are items that are not on the menu, that look fantastic. read more

As a big fan of Georgian food, especially the spreads and salad, I have to pick some up from this place. They are very nice to offer a mix of spinach with walnuts and beets with walnuts. The seasoning is on the milder side so you can taste more of the ingredients. I slightly prefer the beets one more - more moist and not as dense as the spinach one. I also got two pieces of corn bread. I've never had that before and was pleasantly surprised - it tastes so much like a nacho cheese doritos but soft and in the form of a bread. read more

First time I've tried khinkali, and it was outstanding! The chicken meatball soup was delicious as well. Reasonably priced, and the friendliest service around too! Tip: They ask that you give them 15-20 minutes to prepare the food, which is more than reasonable for the quality they offer. Can't recommend highly enough. Will return often. read more

Cute Georgia restaurant/cafe. I love the flavor and quality of their food. Its one of the few affordable Georgian places. The meat pies are definitely worth coming back for. Good crust and flavorful beef meat filling. They have other pies too, like a veggie or cheese one. The chashushuli was again a flavorful beef stew with bread with either mash potatoes or rice. Definitely made me full on its own. Would get again as well. The eggplant roll wasn't bad either. I like how they are introducing new menu items as well so be sure to check out the new items on the chalk board new the cash register. read more

My boyfriend and I love Georgian food and popped in here on a whim. All I can say is wow! Really high quality, delicious food at a very fair price. These days in NY, it feels like you can either choose a "cheap", meh tasting meal or a an expensive, "better" meal, so we're thrilled with the discovery of this spot. Highly recommend! Was thrilled to see a new quick serve Georgian place opening and have not been disappointed. This place is fantastic. Reasonable prices and fantastic food. I've eaten at many Georgian restaurants before and love this place. Staff couldn't be nicer. Plus, they are incredibly patient with those unfamiliar with the cuisine. Was told they have another place in Bensonhurst and their experience shows. So far we've had the Mergruli Kachapuri, Imuruli cheese bread, Spinach and Cheese Pies, Potato Pies, Spinach + Beets With Walnuts, Eggplant Rolls (stuffed with walnut), Adjapsandali veggie stew, Chashushuli beef stew, the Tabaka chicken, Berry Cake, Churchkhela and more pastries than I'd like to admit. They are knowledgeable about their ingredients and do offer a few vegan and gluten-free options. If you've never tried Georgian before and and are a fan of cheesy breads this place is a must visit. Beauty little cafe! The shop is small and cute with a cozy interior. They offer a wide variety of traditional Georgian food that was very delicious! Cool place and friendly owner who explained everything on the menu to me and offered me a sample of their walnut grape juice pastry snack. I got the cheese boat "Adjaruli Khachapuri" to go - fresh out of the oven, soft, warm and of a good portion. It has an egg on the top and comes with butter. I think it would go great with some mixed herbs. Also got coffee in the house - definitely coming back to try other delicious food! read more

Had a serious hankering for Khachipuri. Just something about that freshly baked bread, cheese in the middle, egg for mixing, and pat of butter. . . .didn't look that big (personal deep dish pizza sized) but now i'm stuffed! eat it with a friend over a nice glass of orange rkatsiteli. Cafedelia is an excellent option for a quick bite to eat during lunch. I've ordered the tabka chicken and both times it has been delicious. The order comes with a salad and rice or potatoes. The portions are generous, this place is a good value. To top it off, the staff is friendly and kind. I've never had Georgian food before, and the staff will happily walk you through the menu and make suggestions. Check them out, you will not be disappointed! read more

Georgian cuisine seems to be on the rise in NYC and this was my first endeavor into it. The woman at the counter who took my order was very informative and patient with me explaining the difference between items on the menu, even though the descriptions were posted on the wall with the ingredients in them (which I didn't realize until after lol). I ordered the cheese bread and the cake which were both very good and next time I'm there I'd like to get the item with the egg in it that you mix with the cheese!!!! read more

Delicious! Had the double cheese khachapuri and ajapsandali with corn bread. All stellar. ALWAYS add the corn bread. It tastes like the greatest tortilla or arepa masa you've ever had, in a delicious bread. It's not like US Southern-style bread, if you've never had Georgian (like I hadn't) it is surprising and exceptional. Will be back! read more

Randomly found this place on yelp and so glad I did! The Adjaruli khachapuri is this cheesy dip in a bread bowl that I guarantee is better tasting than any slice of NY pizza you'll find, so just come straight here and thank me later. Also had the #3 Chashushuli and it was like an Indian food taste (I love Indian food) but better I think. I'm worried I'm going to return to New York and find a long line outside. But I reviewed this place back when hardly anyone knew about it! read more

Fantastic food. My absolute favorite is the vegan rolled eggplant. The vegan spinach pastry is fabulous. Loved the vegetarian spinach one as well. Highly recommend the beet and spinach dips also. Can't wait to go back to try some of the meat dishes. read more

Happened to walk past Cafedelia a week after they opened - such a great discovery! I love all types of Eastern European food, and this was such a great Georgian cafe! Service was great too - they explained what everything was, and the kubdari was delicious! Definitely looking to come back again :) read more

Wonderful! First thing that came to mind was how homemade the food tasted. I had the chashushuli (beef stew) served with some mashed potatoes and homemade Georgian bread. The taste reminded me of how my family would make it - flavorful and hearty. The serving was plentiful for one person and it was very inexpensive! The owners even offered coffee and tea on the house and gave me some desserts for tasting. Truly a wonderful experience. I highly recommend and will definitely come back. read more

I stumbled upon Cafedelia while exploring the Greenwich Village area and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant offers a variety of Georgian dishes that are both comforting and delicious. I tried the Kharcho soup, a traditional beef and rice soup with a pleasant kick of spices. The Lobio, a bean stew, was also noteworthy--rich in flavor and perfectly seasoned.
