The phone number that doesn't work, the awkward parking situation, the limited about of seats vs. the amount of space that's in the place, the fact that it closes at 4pm everyday, and the customer service. Now that we've gotten all that out of the way, make your way over here to order a Double Steak Sandwich with a large Cafe Con Leche. That's the only thing I've ever gotten from either location in the past 5 years (but I hear everything is good). This food is best served hot and fresh. So either eat there or eat it in your car. I've done either depending on the weather outside. You may ask, why would I rate this place 4 stars despite the logistical issues here. My reasons are 1. I have walked, biked, jogged, driven, and might have even moon walked right past this place countless times. I won't get in to the details about how I found out, the main focus here is awesome food. This place is a neighborhood dive, in the nicest way possible. This has been one of my favorite places for steak and Cuban sandwiches. The best is coni g here in the morning and grabbing a steak and egg sandwich for breakfast. Let me start by saying I frequented the original location on Milwaukee a lot growing up and was very shocked and disappointed when I found out they where closing. I was told that this is where the old staff moved to and that it was just the same as before. I came here today 9-17-17 for lunch to my surprise it was empty. I ordered a double steak sandwich with cheese. The sandwich was definitely a disappointment becuase they no longer or maybe just in my case toast the bread on the panini grill like before. Not impressed with the service at all! The man behind the counter treated me with total disrespect because I am a white female and I will never go there again. Not to mention food was average. I ordered a cuban coffee and steak sandwich. I sat at the counter and watched 10 other customers come in and order the steak sandwich and coffee. The other customers received their coffee when they placed their order and they put it under the machine to warm it up. After 4 minutes of watching others get their coffee as soon as they ordered it, I asked for my coffee as I sat there and he poured it out of the caraff without evening warming it up. Coffee was weak due to the large amount of milk that they have in the coffee. Others were also getting additional black coffee poured into their cup to strengthen the mixture. Sandwich was delivered in a to-go bag even when I did not ask for it to go. As I sat and ate the sandwich that have very little steak within the french bread. Flavor was lacking and steak was not tender. Had gristle.
