Great coffee shop, antique feeling but well equipped with a good breakfast and later brunch/lunch menu. Seasonal selections are awesome as well. I've always gotten the Ham and Cheese croissants, flakey puffy croissants with perfectly tasting and paired ham slices and cheese, and all the muffins are fresh and topped with sugar or crumbles. Coffee menu is standard but more than enough for me, without the California nouvelle experiments. I love soups and have tried their tomato, creamy and like my homemade, but it was refrigerated and had to be microwaved to reheat. Not bad but mine wasn't as steaming hot as I like from a fresh pot. It's busy most mornings, but tables and window seats open up quickly. Parking is easy and plentiful. read more

I always love visiting Caffe Nero to grab a latte and get some work done. The North Andover location is pretty rustic and cute, and the staff are all very nice. The one complaint I have is the rickety furniture. I sat at a shared table with a few other people, and the table was so wobbly I couldn't really focus on my work. First impression: the cafe looks very inviting and modern, and the menu had a wide variety of food and drinks for everyone. Although they were lacking a good vegan sandwich option (only one was a sandwich that looked icky) so if you're strictly vegan this may not be a great spot. But they do have almond and soy milk for drinks! I got the veggie fritatta and strawberry vanilla frappe with soy milk. Service: 1 star this place sucks in regards to service. During my stay (I sat there for 2-3 hours), the baristas, an Asian girl and white guy, sat there talking bad about customers and being rude. If you can believe this it was only to find an elderly gentleman asleep with his feet up on a chair taking up 1.5 tables. Seeing all the books on shelves, I couldn't help think that if I just "accidently" dropped a tome on the table, would he waken? Anyway, until other arrived I found seating on a long couch in the front of the cafe.. hoping someone with my party would scout out somewhere else. We lined up to order.. I ordered a large black, house blend coffee, adding a oatmeal raisin cookie... The counterperson went to get my cookie from under the glass and it completely fell apart... tried for another and same thing. A spatula turned the entire stack into mush.... obviously not fresh. So I opted for a chocolate chip because I'd already paid... It ended up bring absolutely horrible. With both items I spend over $7.00. My cookie was obviously a mix with 2-3 chips of simulated chocolate and in the case way too long.... ridiculous! My coffee wasn't much better... it tasted old too. AND THAT'S NOT ALL! 2 of my coffee-companions ordered bowls of soup. Seated across from me my friend showed us the "bowl" of soup contained at best 1 cup. The "chicken soup" had the look and taste of Campbells - inedible. She was hungry... but remarked on the portion verses the cost. We all supported her speaking with someone at the counter regarding the portion.. or sending it back . She took the portion route. And would you believe they told her she received the correct portion! Even if it was -wouldn't it have been good business to add more to the "cup" within a bowl so it equaled a bowl? Outrageous! So we all decided after all the issues we will find somewhere else to take our business... there a several other establishments where this would not happen! read more

This location consistently has terrible service. It's the only good coffee/study environment I've found in Andover so far, which is the only reason why I still come here- but at this point I'm willing to drive out of my way to go somewhere else. On top of mediocre service (which is fine- I go to coffee shops for the study space, not for the friendliness of the baristas), multiple times now I've come here expecting them to be open (based on their COVID posted hours) and yet the lights are off and no one is inside. Most recently, I went about 40 mins before closing time and was told they had to close an hour early because they were understaffed. A few weeks ago I was here in the morning and one of the baristas kept angrily banging on the glass door to be allowed in (I suppose there was a problem with the door so it kept locking), in a way that should be absolutely unacceptable behavior in front of customers. At the end of the day, I would like to come here Bc of the study space but considering the last three times I tried to come here, I couldn't even get in -- what's even the point of continually giving the benefit of the doubt to this place. read more

As a cappuccino drinker I know when fresh grounds are used and when grounds are reused. I know cafes like to save money but it's so easy to tell when old grounds are used the cappuccino tastes like dried cardboard. read more

I'm not usually seen chillin' in the Andover hood, but I was there on business last weekend and I was curious about Caffe Nero as I drove by. I stopped in for a latte and was super surprised by this little cafe. I didn't try the food but the atmosphere was relaxed and the staff very friendly. I sat by the gas fireplace in a comfy chair to soak up the vibes while sipping my hot latte. Next time I'm in this area I will stop by here again to try some of the sweets! read more

The workers here always seem to give unwelcoming looks to the minority. I was in the front of the line, but the people behind us were asked for their orders first. The place has sticky tables with crumbs everywhere. The table where the trash, straws, sugar packets and other items are is extremely dirty and disgusting. This place isn't organized/neat. After expressing it should only take a moment to fix, 10 minutes then went by of me standing there clearly annoyed. I understand things happen unfortunately but they knew I was upset and yet still charged me full price after waiting almost 20 minutes. I have come here a number of times to get a nice bakery snack of a breakfast croissant. Today I was in the mood for a large iced coffee, which I have gotten in the past. When I received the large iced that cost just under five dollars, I asked if this was the large and she confirmed it was. Three sips and it was gone. Caffe Nero has become the go-to place for a lot of students and teachers seeking coffee and maybe trying to get some work done. It feels very cozy as a neighborhood spot even though it's a chain. The decor is interesting with a nice selection of lamps and chairs. The books on the shelves are held up by milk jugs and bowling pins. Some are within reach and some of these books are really old and on rather strange topics. The coffee is fairly good. If you order a latte to stay, chances are you'll get a hefty serving of foam and maybe a sprinkle of cinnamon if you're so inclined. My usual fare consists of a chai latte (v. frothy) and a croissant (v. buttery). They also have a selection of sandwiches which they will TOAST for you. Do you know how rare and fantastic that is? For a little over $3 you can get a ham and cheese croissant transformed in to a crispy, melty bocadillo. It's the little things. 3 hours of free internet, ample seating, and A/C during the summer make Caffe Nero a home-base in downtown Andover. *bonus: they accept levelup! read more

I'm an out of towner and attempted to visit Starbucks in a rush before a meeting and found traffic through this area. I kept driving and pulled into a parking lot next to Caffe Nero. SO happy to have discovered this place. Quick service, great coffee and delicious chicken caprese. Very welcoming environment to read, study, chat or have a 1:1. I was in and out of there getting to my meeting just on time. No long lines which is crazy cuz it's yum. Will def be back again! read more
