I went to Cafe Nero often but never again. I ordered a chai tea latte with almond milk. I was charged $6.95. Price went up but I could get over the craziness figuring I will go less often. The young girl made coffee and not tea. Okay, mistakes happen even though I cannot stand the taste of coffee, move on. The new size small is what has me frustrated. I don't even know if it's even 4 ounces. Insane!!! It was soooo tiny! Unacceptable. Lost my business and all the people I'm telling about it that talk about coffee/ tea. Disappointing. read more

I've been here multiple times and I'm always disappointed. I have never once had anything I liked neither had anyone I've been with. The refreshers are nasty and they were out of the smoothie I wanted and told me it came in a "frozen bag" so fresh. The sizes are inanely small and it's so overpriced. * The iced matcha is almost never mixed properly (2/10 times it's made well, despite the use of a cocktail shaker) * I am always drinking chunks of matcha powder when I order at this location but matcha should be mixed in completely - no other cafe serves iced matcha this way that I have experienced * (Side note: I don't want to be difficult + I overthink about bothering people in the service industry as I have much respect for them + but I am also paying for something that I am repeatedly not getting ... I've worked in the food service industry and was not taught to handle this type of experience this way with unsatisfied customers) * The one time I decided not to suck it up + drink whatever I got, I mustered up the courage to ask for it to be remade and the barista continuously invalidated/dismissed my explanations (me: "this tastes like a large cup of milk and I usually taste the matcha / the entire drink was white on the pick up counter and when I mixed it there was not much matcha to see or taste"). * The barista had their own explanation and no intention to accommodate or at least listen to my request ("it's always the same amount of milk and matcha" and "that's because you got oat cold foam that it's white") ...the cold foam is rarely ever more than a centimeter on top * I pleaded with them that it "honestly tastes like only milk" * Finally the barista offered to add more matcha which sadly led me to receiving the usual problem; matcha chunks all on the top + no longer having any more cold foam on the top which is an extra charge so I think I should expect it - therefore I left the cafe with basically a 20oz cup of chunky milk, more money wasted, and disappointment * Additionally, the baristas are always preoccupied and seem like they'd rather be anywhere else - I find myself waiting 5 extra minutes while the baristas have their chit chat time and no one is ever attentive to someone looking for assistance - also, despite ordering on the app to get ahead of the line and wait times, i have to plan for the slow service anyways on my commute to work - to be clear I'm not saying they should be all smiles 24/7 or be robots behind the counter, but hospitality is definitely something that has me wanting to tip every time and I do not see hospitality at this location * There is only one barista who does a great job with the drinks and with customer connection so if they make your drink it's your lucky day (the one star is for this employee and they should know who they are based on the work they put in) * The ambiance is decent but it doesn't feel clean in this location and the furniture is oddly organized read more

First time at Caffe Nero and expressos were pretty good. Nice atmosphere with good seating. Many power outlets. However, we had an issue with sizes made vs. ordered and paid for, and one was missing the flavor. We stated the size desired twice. After the server fixed the flavor, unfortunately our party got to talking and realized when we were almost done that the sizes were small. Get that people sometimes make mistakes. This is one of those situations where you ask yourself if it's worth bing up or don't. My tally of prices shows we got smaller than paid for and we already had to go back once. So, I confirmed the cup size with the server and asked for more. Server offered new cups of both but gave some attitude that we paid for smalls. I offered to pay - she refused so I took one new. So . . . didn't get what we ordered, didn't get what we paid for, did get a "free" refill with a teaspoon of attitude. Got the original order and the fix wrong. Not a pleasant experience. I'm very surprised to not find any Yelp review for this great place yet. Its located right on a busy main street with a nice big municipal parking lot in the back that provides access on both sides. The seating area is quite spacious and comfy and they are really generous with the tables unlike Starbucks across the street that is smaller and definitely more crowded. I'm a huge fan of this place and been coming here regularly for work as the local library is closed due to relocation. Their drink prices are pretty fair and delicious I usually get Ice Tea or lemonade. Their breakfast sandwich is amazing as well as I have tried it a few times. Wifi is quite fast here and I especially enjoy the outdoor seating are they have where the music is quieter for a good conversation on the phone. Overall I'm very happy with this particular location and have become quite the regular patron of the chain. Highly recommended if you're in the area looking for a nice place to relax and talk or work/study like I do. read more

Service is really bad at the Melrose location. It is appalling when you ask the barista to put a sleeve on your hot coffee cup (when they are right there at arms reach next to the lid that you just grabbed), and you tell the customer that they are available at the bar across the register. When I am tipping you, please provide the full service. the coffee is less than mediocre on top of the bad service. The "warmed" up breakfast sandwich is a burnt out breakfast sandwich. read more

The WiFi is consistently bad. That's the substance of this review. While there are other aspects of this location that are troublesome (consistently getting orders wrong despite me literally just telling the baristas seconds before what I wanted -- and please note, I have an easy order: black drip coffee), the insurmountable hurdle is the lack of good internet connectivity. This is a problem I experience every time I go to this Cafe Nero location. Wi-Fi connectivity is so poor that I typically end up using my hotspot to connect to the internet. I've heard other patrons voicing their frustration about this issue as well. Despite multiple complaints, the Wi-Fi continues to be unreliable.
