My husband and I decided to try this place because of its sea view, and it didn't disappoint! We asked for a table in the terrace and while we waited for the waiter to get it ready, they gave us a complimentary glass of prosecco. The staff was friendly and attentive. The drinks and food were really good and the atmosphere overall was very nice. We ordered the house seafood special as an appetizer, the ravioli, and macaroni with meat sauce and they're were all delicious! Their lemon cake dessert was amazing. So moist and light. The restaurant is a bit of a walk up from the main beach, but totally worth it. They also offer free shuttle service if you don't feel like walking. read more

The view is the main reason to eat at this restaurant. The food is just ok in comparison to other restaurants close by but still charges the same amount. I felt like the quality for the price were not close at all (quality being ok and price being high) I had their pasta with shrimp, cherry tomatoes and arugula. This meal lacked a lot of flavor and was subpar, especially for Positano standards. That being said. I did hear that the gelato and breakfasts were good here. 100% utilitarian. You don't come for the food. When you arrive in Positano, exhausted, unwilling to hike up a hill, this spot is ideal. Why? 1) They hustle and many hotels have agreements with their shuttle - so they pick you up and drop you add after your meal. Came here for takeout because we arrived at Positano later in the evening. The prices were higher than expected, maybe it has to do with the view or because its beside a more expensive restaurant. This place is your typical "tourist trap". The food was less than mediocre and the service itself was so very slow. I had the chicken and pepper pasta in a cream sauce and my husband had the balsamic chicken. The chicken dish was thin and fatty and the other pasta dish tasted like something I could have gotten from a can at the grocery store back home (think chef boyardee). Came here for lunch. The view is amazing and luckily if you can get a seat near the rail, you'll be looking out over positano the entire meal. I ordered a pasta carbonara which was delicious. I would have liked some peas in it but I wasn't left disappointed. My wife spaghetti in a bologna sauce. The meaty tomato sauce really hit the spot. Bread basket offered three types of bread while we waited and the server spoke excellent English. Check it out for dinner or lunch. read more

Worst service I've ever experienced. We ate dinner at Caffe Pasitano for a special fixed dinner evening of 6 courses. After the first 2 courses, the staff completely fell apart. The wait between courses 2 and 3 was 90 minutes with no fewer than 8 members of staff walking by to look at our table to check where we were in the order, (but never offering any details or inquiring about drinks). We really tried to make the most of it- deciding we'd order more wine and enjoy the nice night, but had a hard time getting anyones attention to do this. Tables around us were having the same experience. This was organised as a special theme night by the restaurant, a nice idea, however it was disappointing the staff were not prepared for the evening. Other reviews are correct- the view is wonderful, and the food was good, but for the price we paid and experience we received, it was a terribly poor experience. read more

Must haves: get the "fresh home made pasta" with the lobster. The fresh pasta option will only say with crab on the menu, but if your a lobster person like me, then request the fresh pasta with lobster. Its $25 and its top notch. I promise you. The only reason I didn't read reviews for this place is because I was starving but also let me tell you I have never felt more compelled to write a review than now. The service was horrible. I had to ask 3 times to get olive oil and vinegar and when I asked for recommendations he gave me a BS answer and walked away and let me know he will come to get my order later...even though I was already ready to order. Besides that...the food was not flavorful at all and the bruschetta was the worst I've had in all of Italy and I've ordered it at least 7-8 times. The restaurant we wanted was closed for lunch so we decided to walk down the street to try this one. We ordered the veal with lemon sauce which consisted of 2 pieces of over cooked veal swimming in oily lemon sauce (no accompanying veggies or starch or garnish), chicken with mushroom which was just that too, but it was actually the best dish and the seafood pasta which smelled very fishy. This restaurant is right next to Da Vincenzo-- food is not quite as good as Da Vincenzo but the view is better and there is less of a wait. Try the bruschetta to start and DEFINITELY try the veal entree- so flavorful and one of the best entrees we had in Positano. (We also tried the grilled sea bass but it lacked in flavor). If you can sit upstairs on the tiny balcony, you will be in a private, romantic oasis looking at flowers and the view and also be away from the crowds. Additionally, the server we had could not be more rude. He was verbally insulting my wife and I. Went here for breakfast the first day I arrived in Positano. The food was alright you can't really mess up eggs and pancakes. The server was always wondering around and I noticed he ignored my friend and I every time we wanted to ask for something. I went inside to pay and the person behind the register was a lady (I'm guessing the owner) and I asked to have my bill split (between two people) she made a huge fuss about and was very rude. She was speaking in Italian and was upset about the whole split bill. I went today early in the morning because it was the only place open at 9am around me. I had asked for lemon cake after my breakfast but it never arrived and I had to leave . I walked inside to pay but I was being charged €8 for a lemon cake that I never got. I politely asked the same lady to please have it removed from my bill so I could pay and leave. She threw a huuge fit about tourists always asking for things and how rude we are (tourists) etc I didn't let that ruin my stay in Positano because I went to multiple restaurants who offered excellent service and food.
