My wife and I have been there a few times for pizza or soup and just have loved it. When you are ordering it's like being a kid in a candy store looking at the the case with all the pizza choices.. We finally made it for dinner on Fathers Day. The staff was under a lot of pressure but was very attentive and friendly. The food was awesome. The choices are different and they also have your basic items. They had specials also on the menu for the night. Went for the Pasta Tuesday, they had a large selection, I had the penne broccoli with garlic and oil my husband had something with anchovies in it he finished his, mine will be lunch today. Very good food had garlic rolls and Italian bread with olives and dipping sauce. Our waiter was Frank, yea what are the odds an Italian restaurant with a waiter named Frank? I honestly don't know why this place doesn't have hire reviews. This is my husband's and mine favorite Italian place (it helps we live 5 min away). We dine in often and the food is always delicious. I took away a star only because when we do do takeout, the portions are remarkably smaller, although still tasty! My family has been coming to Caffe Amici for many years, since I was in grade school. It consistently has great pizza. Their regular pies are delicious, as are their Sicilian and specialty pies (buffalo chicken - my favorite!) Their kitchen orders are alright, but not spectacular. The pasta is good but not great. I've also had catering from them which is pretty good, if you don't feel like cooking. One good thing that they have is what they call chicken rolls, basically chicken cutlet strips with some sauce and cheese wrapped in dough and baked. Used to be a great place to eat -- not so much anymore. I used to go for their Spaghetti & White Clam Sauce. For the second time they brought me a plate of old sauce and mushy spaghetti. We came here yesterday afternoon for a funeral luncheon. It was a very large crowd and the servers, especially Stephanie, were incredible. Great place to go for a nice Italian dinner like the one Momma used to make. I have patronized this establishment often over the years and the food is generally consistently good. The menu is very vast . You will find something for everyone. The portions are huge, and the service is awesome. Especially Victoria. She is terrific. Great place to go eat but not to sit and eat quietly. It is always busy and sometimes very loud. So don't go there if you want to get to know your blind date. 9 employees wearing masks behind the counter below their chin or noses. Few of those were constantly touching their faces and serving guests. Four servers on the dining room floor did not even bother to wear one at all times. What was most imperative, was the pizza man in the right corner hand side making pizza and preparing food without a mask on. Two gentlemen, profusely sweating behind the counter serving myself and another guest with their mask below their chin. Disgusting. I get it, you work hard and you sweat... but be courteous of what's going on in the world and of your guests. Pictures were forwarded to the SCHD. Unacceptable during this time. In addition, the place was packed more than the allowed occupancy. I get it... good food, but it's not difficult to provide great service, great food and follow covid protocol but keeping in mind the safety of the community that puts money in their pockets. It's in a shopping center but when you step inside you will see a large dining room neatly set away from the pizza bar. We were four for lunch. The other couple come here often. But for me, a first. Since it was a weekday, around 2:00, it was not crowded at all. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. Their lunch menu as well as the general menu had plenty of choices. This is Neapolitan American cooking. Prices are very affordable and portions are large. There was a choice of soup or salad. With entree comes a side of vegetables as well. They placed a complimentary basket of oily garlicky knots, I would have preferred warm Italian bread. But others at the table devoured them. One had the salad which was a nice size. I passed on the soup. And the waitress suggested I take mine home. I'm glad that I did. What a large bowl of soup I had the next day. It was straciatella aka wedding soup. The other two people had pasta Faggioli and minestrone. Both loved their choice. For an entree, three of us had the flounder filet stuffed with crabmeat in a white wine sauce. The other party chose a salmon dish with artichokes in a light tomato sauce. It was excellent. The stuffing lacked enough crabmeat to standout, but definitely worth trying. It is light. The sides come in a big bowl. I took my broccoli rapine home instead of eating it there. Only one person had dessert. Cannoli. Unfortunately this is prepared in advance. The shell was narrow and long. I won't eat cannoli unless filled just prior to bringing it to me. The eater gave it a fair rating. Overall a good inexpensive place to go for good food. read more

Watch out for the Specials! If you come to this restaurant and sit in the dining area the waiter will tell you about their specials, there is nothing too extraordinary about them except the price, most menu entree items are prices between 13-18 dollars, the specials are 24-30 dollars. Also, watch out for the desserts they are priced at 8.99 for a small slice of cake or cannoli. No free refills even on coffee. The food is ok, pasta dishes are well done. Watch out if you order a dish with meat, usually its low quality. Pizza is standard, nothing special, they do have a good variety of different kinds of pizza slices. I am currently in the NICU at Stony Brook University Hospital with my son. They have a respite area known as the Ronald McDonald House for parents who have children here in the hospital. It's a nice cozy home like atmosphere where parents can retreat for a few minutes to take a small break and grab a bite to eat or a coffee. I've been told that they sometimes but don't always have food courtesy of some of the local restaurants. Today there was a wide array of specialty pizza slices provided by Cafe Amici, and I'm told that this pizzeria often donates food. Now aside from the fact that the pizza was very tasty I am blown away by the generosity of this restaurant. Thank you from an exhausted and hungry mother who has no time to make it out of this hospital. I certainly look forward to coming to your pizzeria in the future. read more

I used Caffe Amici to cater a wine tour for 30 people and everything worked out amazingly! After a horrible experience with another caterer, I decided to try Caffe Amici and was not disappointed. The prices are on par with other caterers and the food was delicious (and nice sized portions for salad and pastas). The food was delivered on time and without any issues. We went here for my mother in laws birthday. They seated us with not everyone in our party present and it was not a big deal at the time. We sat down and ordered drinks and appetizers. After the appetizers came, the manager came over to scold us and let us know that it was against their policy to seat guests when the whole party is not present. She was not kind and was confrontational in front of our whole table (including children). I asked to speak to her away from the table and told her that the way she approached our table was disrespectful and it was very embarrassing. She chose to defend her actions and not make the situation right in any way. We decided to pay for the food we ate and leave the restaurant for the way that we were treated. We will never be back and recommend that others think about if they want to visit an establishment that treats their customers in such a disrespectful and cruel way. read more

The pasta portions are enormous. My wife had stuffed shells and I had the Angel Hair Pasta with Shrimp, both excellent. The wine is so so but drinkable. I can eat and I still brought a doggy bag. Ordered takeout a few nights ago for my parents and I. Although the service was excellent upon pickup, the food fell short in many areas. We got the chicken capriciosa, which is one of my moms favorite dishes from here, hers was good as usual. No complaint there. However my dad got the pasta with white clam sauce and that was the worst clam sauce we've ever had. So disappointing. And for myself I got the fettuccine carbonara. The menu lists that it is made with prosciutto, but my meal had big strips of bacon in it, which was so odd and disappointing. The sauce also had absolutely NO flavor. This was the worst carbonara I have ever had. I ended up just eating the grilled chicken out of it because it honestly wasn't worth eating the rest. I've never seen a restaurant, especially an Italian one, have prosciutto listed as an ingredient but instead put strips of bacon in it. Overall it was a disappointing meal considering cafe amici is among one of my moms favorite places to get the chicken capriciosa. Although our food was not good and worth 2 stars, I cannot discredit their service, it was excellent upon pickup as they checked the order and made sure everything was there and correct. read more
