I would say this is a hidden gem in Hoboken, but as busy as they are, and as much as the workers hustle... I'd say it's becoming more well-known. The food here is excellent. Authentic Italian... As long as you order their homemade pasta. Please note that on the menu they have a specific section for the pasta they make by hand and the pasta they do not. I heard a table next to us saying something again to the positive taste homemade but they ordered from a section where it didn't say it was lol. What makes this place great is you can pretty much make whatever kind of dish you want when it comes to the pasta. They offer a variety of sauces as well. Surprisingly on this night, I wasn't very hungry and I ended up only getting their soup, which was also delicious. The chicken franchise was delicious, as well as the eggplant Parmesan. However, looking around at the restaurant, I can see the winner is the chicken Parmesan and the muscles. They seem to be very popular dishes. Not only is the food here great, but it is affordable. The only mention I will make as a knock against it is it gets extremely loud in there. This is not somewhere you want go for a date... Or if you intend on talking to anyone you're eating with and hearing what they have to say haha. That's only for the indoor section though. I'm sure outdoor is less intense with the sound. We will definitely be back!

We had a lovely wedding anniversary dinner here tonight! It was our first visit. We sat outside on a perfect night. Service was friendly. We started with the caprese with prosciutto which was very good. I had the papperdalle tartufo with sausage and my husband had the chicken scarpapiello. Both were delicious. It would be even better if the papperdalle had more and larger mushrooms. I had the apple taste for desert which was ok but hubby's tartufo was large and delicious! I would not get the apple tart next time. Thank you for a great dinner.

Very authentic Italian Cuisine, by far the best I've had in the area. They have a versatile menu and you can get anything from a simple Spaghetti Bolognese to a creative Homemade Rigatoni with Truffle Cream sauce, everything 10/10 in taste and quality. I took my parents here who go to visit Italy frequently, and they agree with me. The ambiance is very calm and relaxing, and if you sit outside they allow you to bring your dog. Their outside seating is also nice for people watching on Washington Street The servers are very friendly and attentive, the place is BYOB and they bring out ice buckets for wine or beers that we brought. Overall highly recommend!!!

We called the restaurant to confirm that their gnocchi was homemade. Received our 2 orders of gnocchi and this is very clearly not homemade. It's totally ok to not make everything from scratch but what's NOT ok if to lie about it to your paying customers :(

Well, let me say, that after dining there 3 times, and getting take out 4 times, I was a bit disappointed the last time I was there. Was celebrating my best friend's bd. They were nice, brought dessert with a candle, sang Happy Birthday. that's one thing I have to say, the staff is very nice, very accommodating ,and good service. But I"m not sure what was going on with the food that specific day. For some reason, the beef carpaccio seemed a big overpriced. ($26?). and what we received was basically salad greens with ONE SLICE of carpaccio. At first, I was so involved in conversation, and thought it was odd to have to split a whole piece of carpaccio in half ,but then I asked about it. Something was off in the kitchen and the person in charge wasn't paying attention maybe? Or was he hoarding the food? I complained and they told me to speak to Nando, but I haven't been there since. I'm hoping to get a credit, but I think the charge SHOULD HAVE been removed. And then, I ordered my favorite dish, which is a pesto dish with pasta & sausage, but that didn't taste the same as it usually does. Let's see what happens next.

I was pleasantly surprised at how great the food here is! Everything tasted so fresh and very full of flavor. We started with the burrata and bruschetta and both were packed with so much flavor and were great portion sizes. I got the avocado tomato mozzarella salad and boyfriend got a chicken dish. I don't know how they made such a simple salad taste so good but it was incredible. As for the chicken, it's rare that you find a restaurant that makes it just right but the sauce was amazing and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The waiters were very attentive and would refill our water almost immediately after we took a sip. I think the ambiance and decor in the place could use some work, but the food is so good that it speaks for itself!

Absolutely our best meal in Hoboken. No need to go to Little Italy. This place is perfect! Cozy and intimate seating. Amazing homemade pasta, fresh ingredients, and delicious desserts. Highly recommend the pappardelle tartufate and burrata limoncello ravioli in truffle cream sauce. Mouth watering. It is. Desserts equally delicious. We had the tiramisu, pistachio cheesecake, and ricotta cheesecake. Jonathan, our server made our meal here very extra special and the chef, Brian a master chef. Would definitely go out of my way to eat here again. 5 stars all around.

    Mushy boxed pasta. Absolutely terrible.

Mushy boxed pasta--something I could have boiled myself. They claim homemade pasta, but then tell you you need to specify. There is no mozzarella either (as in the picture). It's not worth the price.

We enjoy coming to Caffe Buon Gusto for their good service, pasta, and dessert. I've been 3 times and all 3 times have had a good experience. It's a nice cozy spot for BYOB and we appreciate the complimentary bread (we had focaccia this time). I would recommend the carbonara, and alla vodka and skip the pesto (a little too heavy creamy, not the pesto you'd usually expect and not enough basil flavor came through). Overall, the vodka sauce is my favorite! We've also enjoyed the scallops in the past.

I don't usually leave reviews, but the service here was I think the best service I've ever had! Alejandro was AMAZING. and the food was DELICIOUS. New favorite spot, I already want to go back!!

This restaurant is very small and has zero ambiance. The food was a bit pricey but good. And the wait staff was very nice.

Not only…read moreare the desserts incredible, but the employees were so friendly and pleasant to deal with as well. The star of the show is, of course, the Merveilleux. It's made with light, airy meringue and whipped cream, then covered in chocolate shavings. It somehow manages to be rich and delicate at the same time. I can see why it's their signature dessert. They offer different flavors and sizes too, from mini versions to larger cakes that are perfect for sharing. One of the coolest parts of visiting is that the kitchen is completely open. You can watch the pastry chefs assembling these beautiful creations right in front of you. It's mesmerizing and makes the whole experience feel special. The bakery has roots in Northern France and Belgium, where the Merveilleux originated, but pastry chef Frédéric Vaucamps reinvented the classic recipe to make it lighter and more modern. Whatever he did worked because these pastries are unforgettable. A quick tip: cash only, so come prepared. Honestly, if you're anywhere nearby, I think you need to run there. Between the amazing desserts, the friendly staff, and the chance to watch everything being made fresh, it's one of the most enjoyable bakery experiences I've had in a long time. I know you won't be sorry!

Aux Merveilleux de Fred is a tiny, beautifully fragrant shop on 8th Ave. I ordered the cold brew black and it was one of the smoothest, most satisfying first cups of the day I've had in a long time. Finding genuinely good black cold brew in this city is harder than it should be, and this one hit the spot so perfectly I made a second solo trip before sundown. The chocolate and almond croissant was delicate, flaky, and exactly what a croissant should be. The shop itself is small, no indoor seating, but two benches out front! The staff was warm and the whole place smells incredible the moment you walk in. I've already earmarked the Cramique for my next visit, because if it's anywhere near as good as everything else, I'm in trouble. Do yourself a favor and stop in!

The staff is all very nice and the food comes out quickly. portion sizes are decent for lunch items and things like french toast are above average. I liked that they used real tableware that had some weight to it as opposed to plastic, we accidentally knocked over a glass as we were leaving and it hit the ground but didn't break so that was a big relief but it makes the dining experience feel like more thought was put into it when even the table ware is of good quality.
