    Roast Beef Sandwich
    Walid F.

It's an ok sandwich place right next to the park. Roast beef 3/5 - The bread and meat were solid but I wish it had more to it like a sauce or aioli. The inside was very calm and the service was nice. Considering the sandwich was $16, I don't think it's worth it/recommend.

Best roasted tomato soup! The service is pretty fast and their bread always so fresh and delicious! Recommend give it a try to every drink in the menu cause they are amazing as well. Cool place to catch up with friends and grab a bite or work and sip on something. The staff is also super nice and friendly

I heard this South Park anchor cafe has closed for good. Rushed over and found a sad, but hopeful note on the door. They're trying to figure out how to reopen. Maybe a cooperative? This is a locally owned, one of a kind purveyor of caffeine products, sandwiches, etc., much more beloved than any chain. Guess I'll have to stand by for word of their resurrection.

Very relaxing area and nice quaint entrance

There are many positive words to describe "Caffe Centro". A few that come to mind are 'quaint', 'relaxing', 'therapeutic'. You can kind of get the picture of where we're going here. And this is on a journey to a little hidden gem in the South Beach area of San Francisco. Conveniently located next to South Park Playground and close to Bryant and 3rd St's, this little place has been serving up big things inside dating back to 2005. To those of you that remember, much of South Beach went through a major revitalization from the early-2000's to late-2010's. And there is still a ton of work and construction being done on a daily basis. Since I was in need of a coffee fix, I came here during the morning of Saturday 4/1/2023 at around 11:20am. Parking (at least on a Saturday) wasn't all that bad but I can imagine is tougher to find during the workweek. The exterior of the building has a light canary yellow color complete with the business name on the awning and several tables/chairs for outdoor seating. The inside of the building offers generous seating, a display case that showcases compact lunches to go, and drinks that include bottled water, sodas, teas, Kombucha, and beer. They do offer a nice offering of sandwiches, salads, bagels, and of course, coffee/espresso drinks. During my visit, I ended up ordering a "DIY Bagel" which included sesame seeds on the bagel complete with cream cheese, alfalfa sprouts, and cucumbers. To drink, I enjoyed a "Blended Mocha" (which was more or less similar to a Frappuccino drink). My +1 went with their "Breakfast Wrap" that included potatoes, eggs, and onions with an "Iced Vanilla Latte". Our drinks were done in just a few minutes while our food came out only a few minutes later. I will say that with the skyrocketing food prices everywhere you go, the prices here were fairly decent as I was able to get filled up on my bagel and drink for around $12 (including tax). The bagel itself was toasted perfectly and as you can see in the photo I took, they did not skimp on the food. I even tried some of the breakfast wrap and man, this thing is loaded with food; enough to fill you up for awhile. Overall, "Caffe Centro" was an above average and enjoyable experience if you're looking for a quieter spot to read, study, or do work on your laptop. They have generous hours of operating being opened Monday through Saturday from 8am-3pm and closed on Sunday. They offer a decent Wi-Fi speed and location-wise, this place is within walking distance to Oracle Park, nearby shopping, and public transportation. With that said and done, I am giving Caffe Centro a 4-star rating.

So happy this place re-opened! Always walked past it on my way to work when it was open and when it closed for a few months. Glad to be in on this little community coffee place. The workers are friendly and I can tell they really connect with their customers. The cafe itself is so cute and aesthetically pleasing to be in. It's such a relaxing environment in a busy city.

The sandwiches here do not disappoint. I love how stacked the insides are and how they really balance it well with the sauces.

Cool place to grab an espresso and seating to the right of the photo.

Just popped in for a quick cappuccino on a cold wet day. The service was quick and friendly and the cappuccino was delicious. Highly recommend.

I had the lunch special - grilled mushrooms on focaccia bread - SO delicious! Friendly place by the park and close to my office, with lots of windows that can be opened for ventilation.

When #worklife brought me back into the city, I was super stoked. Not having to drive everyday was a big part of that, but getting to hit up all that the Financial District and SoMa had to offer was even bigger! Right at the top of the list? Finally trying spots like Sushirrito, The Bird, and the Senor Sisig truck. After all that sinful gluttony though, it didn't take long before my hunt for nearby bookmarks turned into a hunt for delicious salads! Tucked away in South Park, Caffe Centro really reminds me of The Butler & The Chef - another quaint gem that actually used to be right across the park. However, while the latter always felt more like a weekend brunch spot, Caffe Centro, with its numerous salads, sandwiches, and coffees to offer, is perfect for grabbing a quick and convenient lunch, regardless of whether it's a lazy Saturday or a busy day at work! -- COBB SALAD - Grilled Chicken, Bacon, Egg, Tomato, Avocado, Blue Cheese, Mixed Greens, and Balsamic Vinaigrette...$11.95 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/caffe-centro-san-francisco?select=ujotU4-XrydJ5h_VTBnCDw) One of my favorite salads anywhere! Every time I've had this, the greens and tomatoes have been super fresh, they've always been generous with the chicken and bacon, and the egg and avocado have been delicious! -- ROAST BEEF SANDWICH - Thinly Sliced Roast Beef, Swiss Jarlsberg Cheese, Tomato, and Mayo...$10.95 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/caffe-centro-san-francisco?select=fMy0WF9tnBZLDawkhsQK9w) All together, this is a pretty decent "coffee shop" sandwich, In particular, their Swiss Jarlsberg and roast beef go really well together. However, I might have preferred a different bread than their foccacia. By no means did it taste bad; it just felt kind of brittle and dry after toasting it. If not for the sandwich, as well as the not always friendly service (more so when it's busy), I might have rounded this up from FOUR AND A HALF STARS. Especially when you consider their prices, which is notably less than salad spots like Ladle & Leaf and Mixt Greens. Considering how Caffe Centro is notably cheaper than the likes of Tender Greens, Mixt, and Sweetgreen (and just as good, if not better), I thought about rounding up from FOUR AND A HALF STARS. However, it's kind of hard to given the sandwich and uneven service (it's usually friendly, but not always). Regardless, I'll definitely be back to try some of their other salads, as well as that egg salad sandwich that caught my eye. Probably with a different bread though...HA.

A charming little bistro inspired by the Marlowe cows, I'm assuming, managed to stun us with several memorable dishes. The warm deviled eggs were an excellent start. Savory yet delicate enough to not weigh us down right at the beginning of our meal. The horseradish aioli wasn't for me, but I can see its appeal for a certain audience. You give me a Calabrian chili sauce and it's guaranteed to make me happy and this shrimp with sweet corn was no exception. Again, light but a punchy flavor that was enjoyable. I could go on and on about the different dishes we tried but the real standout of the night was the pork tenderloin with chorizo and peaches. The sweetness from the peaches somehow managed to enhance the flavor of the chorizo. This dish gives you a bold, savory and sweet bite all together but still won't have you feeling super heavy. The portion size is perfect. Im hoping to return soon for another exquisite meal.

The menu is set daily, so the dishes can vary from what's shown in previous photos. After ordering, it took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. The summer vegetable hash comes with beans, squash, tomatoes, corn, carrots, peppers and eggs. I typically associate hash with potatoes, but surprisingly this dish does not come with potatoes. The dish was fairly mild, with most of the flavor coming from the individual vegetables. It's definitely a lighter, healthier take on hash and would be a good option if you're looking for something with more vegetables. The plow comes with eggs, lemon ricotta pancakes, potatoes and choice of meat. The lemon riccota pancakes were the star of the dish- light, fluffy and not too sweet. The potatoes were crispy. The steak + eggs was a hearty option. The steak was tender and juicy and went well with the chermoula sauce. Overall, I'm glad I got to try this restaurant at least once, but hesistant to come back because of the long wait and value of each plate.
