The brunch experience was just okay. The table wasn't very clean, and we had to move it ourselves in order to get seated comfortably. What was most disappointing, though, was the service. I have been hearing so much about this place and finally got to go. Arrive around 8:30am and we could walk in and get a seat. Service was brisk-- also with the check. They gave it to us before we were halfway finished. Food was okay. My matcha latte was done well, the Glazed and Blazed eggs benedict was delicious and balanced-- didn't need any of the sauces. My partner and I decided to go to the city one weekend and decided we wanted brunch. After looking through some place, we came across Sisterita and it looked very promising. It seems like this place is an asian fusion brunch place incorporating french dishes into thai/asian themed dishes which is up our alley. We made a reservation at 1:45 PM and we had to wait for about an extra 30 minutes before getting seated. Initially, I wanted to try their crab fried rice but unfortunately they were out of crab. We decided to get the Alcatraz Escape and the Brioche french toast which were recommended by the wait staff. The staff was generally friendly and accommodating but I can tell they were swamped and stressed out with all the people they were trying to serve. The food itself tasted decent, the Alcatraz Escape had a tasty flavor which incorporates tom yum paste (sweet, sour, tangy flavor) into their scramble with about 4 shrimps. The side of crispy chicken was good but nothing that stood out to us. The brioche was soft but there wasn't much flavoring besides the fruits and caramelized banana. It was served with evaporated milk which made the brioche soft but not adding much flavor to it. The price however was quite pricey. My husband likes his French Onion Soup with lots of cheese and he ordered a side of bacon which he said helped a lot with the soup. Waffle & Fried Chicken - the menu isn't lying when it says "sweet Belgian waffle" because it is definitely on the sweeter side! The fried chicken thigh was golden crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I could had done without the strawberries because it added more to the sweet factor along with the maple syrup. The spicy Mayo for the chicken was a nice factor that balanced the dish out a bit. Voilà French Toast Brioche - definitely a dish to share. It is thick and filling. The citrus butter balanced out all the sweetness. Drinks were sake based and just okay. Also more on the sweeter side. If you like your food on the sweeter side then this is definitely the perfect brunch spot for you. I would go back to try some of their more savory options. My team took me here to celebrate my birthday. We came at 11 and were seated immediately. The place was so cute and perfect for taking pictures. All of our drinks were delicious! I ordered the New York steak and eggs. I asked for medium rare, but it came out medium, so I had to send it back. The replacement was still not medium rare, but since they already made me another one, I didn't bother sending it back again. My team enjoyed their dishes. Parking is impossible, so don't drive here. My son was married at City Hall and they wanted to have brunch at Sisterita! There were so many great things on the menu. It was hard to choose. All the food came out looking and tasting delicious. We were stuffed and loved all of our dishes! We had a large group and I sent an email to book the table ahead of time and they were very accommodating ! We brought sparkling wine and a cake, and although they charge for both, they were amazing in serving all of it. The space is cozy and decorated like you might see in someone's home . We were so excited to try this restaurant after reading all of the amazing reviews, but unfortunately our experience was incredibly disappointing. My 8-year-old son and I spent 30 minutes just trying to find parking, so by the time we arrived we were starving and excited to finally eat. We were seated quickly, which was a great start, and we loved the cute outdoor seating where our dog was welcome. We ordered our food, and my son's $22 French toast arrived first. As I cut it up for him, he took one bite and immediately said, "Mom, there's hair in my food." I turned the plate around expecting to find a single strand, but instead found a bundle of hair cooked into the middle of the French toast. It wasn't something that had fallen on top--it was embedded in the food. I discreetly found our server and politely explained what had happened. She took the plate away but never apologized. At that point, we completely lost our appetite and did not eat any of the other food we had ordered. We waited another 15 minutes, and no one came to check on us, offer an update, or even acknowledge what had happened. The couple dining next to us asked what was wrong, and we were hesitant to even tell them because we didn't want to ruin their meal. Eventually, I had to go back inside myself and explain that we just wanted to leave. By that point it was already noon, my 8-year-old still hadn't eaten, and the entire experience had been handled so poorly. To top it off, I was brought a $60 bill for a side of soup, a side of eggs, and avocado toast--food we never touched after discovering the hair in my son's meal. While they removed my son's $22 French toast from the bill, I genuinely believe the entire meal should have been comped. Finding a bundle of hair cooked inside a child's food is unacceptable, and the complete lack of apology, urgency, or customer service afterward made the situation even worse. We came for Sunday brunch with a reservation and would definitely only recommend coming back with a reservation. There was a sizable line for walk-ins which I would not want to be in. The restaurant is pretty small and very tight. Expect to sit, what feels like, right next to the party next to you and hear every word of their conversation. Service is straightforward but took quite some time to get our food. I heard the French toast takes about 30-40 minutes, which lines up. Everything tasted delicious, with my only complaint being that the drinks came out lukewarm instead of piping hot. - London fog: super foamy and perfectly lightly sweet - Vanilla latte: super smooth and so good - Crab fried rice: amazing. delicious egg fried rice topped with generous crab. - Viola French toast brioche: the star of the show. This will forever redefine how I think of French toast. A thick, circular slice of brioche that's super crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside- tasting like it was fried in browned, salted butter.
