i'm a big, BIG fan of caffe expresso. easily my favorite coffee shop in SLC. i've been to the sugarhouse location & 9th & 11th location more times than i can say. i'm not in millcreek much, so my first time at this location was yesterday. i was in the area to go antique shopping with my little sister, & i needed to get my SIL's boyfriend a gift for his upcoming birthday. they live down the street from the 9th & 11th shop & frequent it quite a bit. we get him gift cards every year for his birthday & he always loves it. we stopped by yesterday around 11:30 am. the building is a lot bigger than the other locations. the drive through is also a lot more spacious. i got my $20 gift card as well as a frozen white mocha (with an extra shot of course). my sister had an iced coconut latte & a poppyseed muffin. i gave a little bit of a larger tip since i got the gift card, & the barista even thanked me for the tip. that's never happened anywhere else before! the baristas working were so pleasant & seemed like they really knew what they were doing. my drink was absolutely delicious- my first time ever ordering it, totally recommended! the 9th & 11th location is still my spot since i'm over there all the time & they have great baristas there too, but i'll definitely come here whenever i can. the sugarhouse location needs some major work, the baristas there are all newer & don't give much of a shit about their jobs, so the drinks there have been sucking lately. that is NOT the case with the other two locations, just an FYI! read more

I tried the gingerbread man latte, iced. It was okay, not super flavorful but it was okay. It was better than the on my husband tried. (Peppermint mocha.) His was so bitter and did not taste like food coffee or any of the sweet holiday flavors either. Mine was better but it was nothing I would ever seek out again buy. I don't know if it was an off day or what but with what I tasted I would never go back, unless I was really desperate for some caffeine and had no other options. Such a good cafe in SLC. I love the iced caramel macchiato. They have oat milk and other alternatives too! It's drive-thru only and they are quick and friendly. Never messed up my order. Prices have gone up but not more than Starbucks and I prefer to support local business. Haven't tried their food but they have some breakfast options and seasonal drinks if you're into pumpkin etc. read more

The coffee and croissants are incredible. Unfortunately, it's uncomfortable that they verbally ask you how much you'd like to leave for a tip. I prefer places that let you select your preferred tip amount yourself. read more

I would give zero stars if possible because they practice 'add their own tip' Do not trust them with your credit card, they add a tip you didn't authorize. Basically they steal from their loyal kind customers. Very very sad. This experience was at the Highland Drive location. read more

This is my favorite drive thru coffee shop in SLC. The staff is always so fast, friendly and just great. If you drive by and see a long line in the morning, don't let that stop you from stopping in. They come out and take orders and it goes by so fast. I always love what ever drink I get, but my go to is an iced white mocha. I love that what ever drink you get, isn't as sweet as other places, and you can still taste the espresso. read more

I love the product - the coffee - but also the staff at the location on Highland Drive in Salt Lake City. I have varied the types of coffee drinks I've purchased over the years, and always the product is impeccable, the service is fast, friendly, and personal, and I am delighted to make this business a part of my day. Far and away the best drive-up coffee in Utah if not the country. While that might seem like excessive praise, I offer this: I estimate I've driven about 637,000 miles in my 33.5 years on the road and I've stopped at hundreds of coffee shops. I almost always get the same thing: a two, three or four shot Americano in my own mug. And I've been going to this shop for over ten years. Nowhere have I had such a perfect storm of (dog) friendly staff, fast service, delicious Americano and reasonable cost. If you want drive-up coffee service, I cannot recommend this location highly enough (the other Caffé Expresso locations are also good but this one is tops). If I have one long-time "complaint," it's that the dog cookies are too large and of poor quality. They give out the largest Milkbone made which essentially doubles the food my little dog eats in a day and both he and my larger dog are allergic to wheat causing them to scratch like crazy if they eat these treats three days in a row. Sure, I can break it up (I generally do just ask for one bone), but I would much prefer if they gave out the healthy stuff. Perhaps work a deal with Dog's Meow for healthy treats in a smaller size at wholesale in exchange for advertising? One newer item of concernt: the Americanos used to almost always be BLISTERING hot, just as I want it. But lately it seems to be much cooler than it used to be - both in the early AM when there is a line and in the afternoon when it's empty (sometimes when it's busy it's cooler because the heater can't keep up). Sadly, I am taking this location of the list as a place to get coffee. Of late a few times they have tried to over charge me for a 16 oz coffee ranging from $2.50 to $3.75. I always get the same drink so I know the price, either better training or get off the social media. Also if you are handling cash and other peoples punch cards, please wash your hands and don't rub your entire hand around the rim of the cup, it's basic common sense. read more

Coffee is good but they over do it with the flavorings. Drive thru could be more friendly. Anytime they come out the door to take my order they never like to come up to the car so I have to yell my order and hang my mug out the door and waive it around so they know I have a refill. read more

I've worked by this Caffe Expresso for 6 years. The quality of service & items has decreased dramatically. The prices keep going up. The microwave all baked goods . Prices are very high . Quality is low these days. I recommend going elsewhere for your morning routine. read more

I lived very close to Caffe Expresso for a few years, and nobody makes a cup of iced coffee like they do. I order it with cream and sugar and it comes out perfectly nearly every time. Pretty dark and a little sweet, it almost has a chocolaty quality. I was very pleased on my first return visit in months to see that they're still doing good work here. The service was good and quick and the iced coffee was marvelous. Can't wait to for the next trip! read more

Espresso is always great. Nothing but great coffee here. I highly recommend Caffé Exspresso. Make sure you stop by espresso anytime you need a quick fix. They really have stepped up there service and the coffee is significantly less expensive than competitors while being high quality. Make sure you check out their selection of Christmas coffee chocolates and many of their holiday drinks. read more

Love this place! It's right by my apartment and so easy to just zip in and out of. I've gone several times over the past few weeks and every drink I've ordered has tasted great. I especially like that they serve Rich's Bagels! My only complaint is that the drinks are sometimes barely hot, so I have to drink them faster than I'd like before they go cold. read more

Signature lattes are amazing but their regular coffee is so good - medium strength, not bitter at all - I end up getting that! Servers are absolutely delightful, so friendly. One of my favorite coffee shops to stop at if I'm in the area. Often, I'll even go out of my way to go to Cafe Expresso. Don't let the long line scare you, it always moves fast! They have someone come outside and take orders from multiple cars while multiple baristas make them inside. Everyone here has always been friendly and my drink has been tasty every time. My go-to is a cinnamon and vanilla latte. Prices are great too. About a buck less per drink than Starbucks. My only negative is that the hot coffees are often not hot enough for my taste. I'm sure it's impossible to please everyone though. read more

I'm not a coffee drinker, so this may not be the most useful review for the core Cafe Expresso customer. I did, however, stop by to grab a sweet treat while out and about. I was hoping for one of the pumpkin chocolate chip squares mentioned prominently on the menu, but no luck. They'd sold out earlier in the day. I instead for a peanut butter cookie and a chocolate chip one. They were both wrapped in plastic wrap and clearly homemade. The peanut butter variety had some crushed up peanut butter and chocolate candies on the top. Both cookies were about ten minutes from being officially stale, though were in good enough shape to eat. On the upside, Cafe Expresso has a convenient drive-through window and is blocks from my house, so I suspect I'll give them a second try at some point. read more

Great place! I love my columbian coffee however i wanted to try something new. Ive always passed this cute little coffee shop on my way to work and today i decided to try it. I ordered the Guatemalan coffee and it was so good! I also ordered their blueberry oatmeal which was alright. I think Mcdonalds is better but i always loke to support local businesses so it wasnt too bad. Overall, i liked it. Definitely will go back foe their bomb coffee and try their other pastries. read more

Terrible, even after I went back to give them a second chance. Both times they somehow managed to mess up a 16oz nonfat latte, and implied it was my fault. Same thing I order, everywhere I go, always. The first time they gave me the 12oz size, though they had charged me for the 16oz. The second time I did have them remake it, because they gave me something that was iced and had pink in it, so first glance told me it was wrong. Sadly, I didn't check the remake, it was a mocha. I am not into drinking an extra 100-150 calories in one drink, so I dumped it. 13+ dollars, and a lot of frustration later, I have learned my lesson and will not go back. read more

Even though I am suspicious that somehow you have a tracker of who gets what each time they come, I am amazed at the high quality of customer service. It may be the direct access of caffeine, but the employees are always high energy and wonderfully friendly. Give them high fives and raises for being the best coffee slinging team ever. read more
