Finally got the chance to check out caffe Nero located in west Hartford center ! The shop itself is cute and cozy they have a large beautiful bookshelf with lots of books and a cozy fireplace. It did die down by 2 pm . They offer a variety of coffee and food options ! I ordered the cappuccino which was delicious ! And the roasted chicken baguette which was good , a little dry . This is an adorable spot to meet up with friends for coffee. It's roomy, with plenty of seating, and I appreciated that they offer a variety of milk options. The staff was friendly and attentive, which made for a welcoming experience. That said, the coffee was a bit of a letdown for me. I ordered a skim latte with sugar-free syrup, and with tip it came out to $7 -- a little steep. Unfortunately, when it arrived it was lukewarm at best. I actually wished they had a microwave so I could heat it up. It was disappointing because I really wanted to love it here. Gotta love breakfast at Nero Kitchen by Caffe Nero! Their coffee blend is absolutely delicious, I want a cup after cup! They have a slew of breakfast options. The butter croissant can literally go with anything! The establishment was easy to find. Parking is also available either behind or on the street upfront. Be prepared to pay meters though. Popped into Caffe Nero in the center early on a Saturday morning just looking for a quick coffee stop. I ordered a Honey Spiced Latte and my sister got the lavender one... I forget the exact name, but both were so good. FYI- They had all the milks. Not too sweet, not too floral, but just right. The whole menu looked fantastic, and the baked treats were seriously tempting. Even the prepackaged salads were appealing for a grab and go lunch. I reserved temptation this time, but I'll definitely be back for the breakfast. I saw a plate of eggs go by and did a double take. Service? Nothing too notable about the service. Everything was relatively quick and we were greeted with a smile. Happy customer. The space itself? Gave me old bookstore vibes in the best way. Cozy, peaceful, and perfect for a change of scenery. I could absolutely see myself coming here to get some work done, check emails, or just enjoy a quiet moment out of the house. And shout out to Nero for the homage to West Hartford. I ordered an iced matcha and brownie. The matcha was not good at all! Very watery, not enough ice, and my request for oat milk was ignored. I ended up throwing half of it away because it wasn't being drank. The brownie carried the show. Very moist! Inside was beautiful and smelled amazing! I love the vibe inside, it would be a great place to come and get work done for a few hours. I've been twice and tried the smores cold brew and the nitro cold brew and both were pretty average. I would say not really worth the price unless you're coming and staying for the vibes. The food does look good though so I'd be curious to try. read more

They had a chocolate pistachio croissant I bought one for my boyfriend and one for myself it wasn't bad but I also don't think I would get it again. The space: Absolutely beautiful and clean with plenty of seating options (as long as you get there before the crowd). The bathrooms mirrors are only tall-individual friendly hehe. The service: I have been here a handful of times already and the service is always friendly, but as others have stated, ordering can be a fun experience. Perhaps it's the way they are being trained but it is off putting when you want to order your go to coffee drink (2 shots of espresso and syrup, iced...) and met with push back, but again they are very nice and lovely individuals The food/drinks: The only time that my order was correct was when I got a plain iced tea. The other times it ranged from my breakfast sandwich being on the wrong bread or the drink just being wrong. Just minor things but it adds up to the whole experience. I'll chalk it up to Caffe Nero just having an off day. I have a feeling Caffe Nero was shorthanded during today's lunch hour for these reasons: The young lady on the register told us she is rarely on the register, so ringing up our lunch turned into a round of 20 questions due to unfamiliarity with the menu and register buttons. Example, "I'd like a Roasted Turkey & Avocado Sourdough sandwich" was met with "do you want avocado on that?". Numerous sandwiches have Asiago cheese, but when I asked for some on my Avocado Toast, I heard "not sure we can do that". Other signs of short staffing were the empty water dispenser, a full trash container overflowing onto the bathroom floor, one empty TP roll, and the other with about a half inch of paper remaining. But the food was very good -I enjoyed my iced Americano Coffee ($3.65) and the Avocado Toast ($13.65) with EVOO, cherry tomatoes, radish, Asiago instead of goat cheese, carrots, crunchy sourdough, with a generous topping of delicious smoked salmon was fantastic. My wife's Roasted Turkey & Avocado Sourdough sandwich ($12.50) with bacon, vine ripened tomato, avocado, lettuce, roasted tomato on sourdough was very good. Could it have used a bit more turkey than two slices? Yes indeed. We both agreed that the sourdough bread was exceptional. And overall, our lunch for $36.66 after tax, tip, and fees was pretty good. In case you're puzzled as to what "fees" is all about, as perceptive Yelper Kristen B. pointed out, Nero's assesses a small "eat in" fee to your bill, and the bill has to be asked for, it's not automatically given out. read more

I love Caffe Nero. I've been here many times and everything is always consistently great! Today I had the tiramisu latte which was delicious! I've previously had the chicken pesto sandwich on chibatta (instead of baguette) and loved it! Their food is always fresh and great! Coffee is delicious! Smoothies are also wonderful! Pleasantly surprised by this spot! It's a chain but this is the first in CT and I'm told they're very popular in Europe. I went during my lunch break and enjoyed their tomatoe mozzarella panini. We've gone to Cafe Nero several times since they've opened. I say, go for the coffee and pastries, which they do great, but skip the food. Their lattes are excellent, including the matcha and honey flavors, and their selection of pastries is one of my favorites. The chocolate almond croissant is one of the best I've had. You can't skip it! The food is subpar. It's left us still hungry. We've tried a variety of salads and sandwiches. I don't think I'd return for a meal, especially since you can get something more filling for the same price right around the corner. The most noteworthy thing about Cafe Nero is the ambiance. They are rocking the vibes. With a fireplace, a wall of books, and a variety of seating, it'll make even the Grinch feel at ease and at peace. I came in for the first time early in Summer 2025 and it seemed good. I think I picked up a Caesar chicken wrap. However, I ordered takeout recently: fig flat bread, eggs benedict, and ham and cheese baguette. It was par. Nothing to write home (Yelp) about except it needs improvement. The eggs were overdone, fig flatbread was chewy, and the baguette sandwich was okay. Perhaps eating in is better because there are frequent diners in the establishment whenever I visit. Depending on their response, it will determine if she'll return to the particular establishment or not. Today we went to the brand new Caffe Nero in West Hartford. I tried going here last week, two days since their grand opening, and the line was crazy long, every seat in the house was taken. This is obviously a very good sign. So today was my first real visit. This space is so lovely! The space on the inside is so cozy and modern looking. They have what appears to be a wall full of books. I'm not sure if they're actual books or some fancy wall paper, but regardless it's pretty nice. There's a few options for seating, on the couches, or at the table. You can also sit outside under their shaded umbrellas. I got a Pumpkin Spice Latte, my mom got their cappuccino, we also got a Strawberry Dragonfruit Lemonade and a Pistachio croissant. We paid inside, and found a table outside. Our drinks were brought out to us quickly. The presentation of these coffees was excellent. They were super creamy and foamy, and came in their own branded ceramic mugs. Sadly mine had a bit of a spill. My Pumpkin Spice latte was mild in the flavor, but rich in coffee, that's how I prefer it anyway. My mom had her first sip of the cappuccino and was immediately followed by a long "mmmmmmm...". It had her approval. On to the croissant. This croissant appeared stuffed, it was actually not. It was very fresh, and had some chocolate along with pistachios. The Strawberry Dragonfruit Lemonade was another hit. I could see this being a go to during the peak summer days. It's a refreshing but tart lemonade. I had a very pleasant first experience at Caffe Nero, they've been a long time coming. Now that they're here, I can see my self returning here time and time again! read more

Caffe Nero is a new cute little spot located in West Hartford Center! The interior is gorgeous, you wouldn't think it used to be a Sweet Frog before! There's often long lines whenever we go, but it goes very quickly! The service is always so friendly. I really enjoyed my quiche. My only feedback is to be mindful of the quality of the arugula as some pieces of mine were wilted. It's also just plain arugula, it was not dressed as I expected it would be. My partner loved his breakfast sandwich and said it was meaty. Great little place and look forward to coming back! read more

I've been eagerly anticipating this opening, and today is its first day open! I discovered this chain in London, UK, and loved them in Boston too, so I was SO excited to find them finally in West Hartford. The decor is warm and welcoming - just what I needed on a chilly, drizzly day. I ordered a pastry (forgot the name, see pic) along with a single origin (Honduran) flat white - both delectable. If you're looking for a place that has comfortable seating and food, and decent coffee, and classical music that is soothing to work to, and doesn't have a coffee smell so strong that you get a headache, this is a solid option. But there are a few key things that could be improved to make this go from a decent experience to an exceptional experience. The service: the best way I can describe the staff's overall attitude is like they smelled sour milk. They're not outright rude, but just simple things like impatience accompanied by huffing - irritation, accompanied by eye rolls. And these are for simple things like asking where the napkins are or asking for your receipt. Which, by the way, they do not offer you your receipt. As another poster mentioned, they have a bunch of little fees that they do not acknowledge when you are placing your order. It's up to you to basically guess what your order totaled. Personally, I find this unethical, but that's just me. Now, I always ask for my receipt. The space: decorated and designed beautifully, bathrooms are consistently clean, and they usually smell like fresh baked croissants, which is awesome! But the number of gnats is really offputting. And the seating isn't cleaned between patrons. I sat on jam two weeks ago and a few weeks before that, a piece of bacon was stuck to my thigh. The food: very overpriced but the baked goods are tasty and very fresh. Their chicken is often extremely salty. read more

This is a new spot that opened up and it's lovely. The ambiance is very cozy, warm, with ample seating. There are Caroline's of seats available from couches, table setting, stool facing outdoors. You have to order and then they come and bring the food to your table which is a nice gesture. The bagel was very fresh and soft and my bagel with egg and cheese sandwich was very so simple and tasty. The coffee which is served in their ceramic cup was also pretty tasty. It has a very old vintage vibe to it with soft jazz music playing. There is a nice atmosphere of getting work done as well as enjoying the cafe vibes. Highly recommend. read more

I think I really found a gem in cafe Nero! Really large spacious area perfect for those that are looking to get some coffee and get some work done or just have a nice brunch. This place really is the best of both worlds and perfect for someone like myself who's truly looking for a laptop friendly spot. You go up to the counter and order your food/drink then take a number and find a seat. My breakfast was tasty, however the bacon was visibly burnt. I'm not really someone who sends food back, but I could easily seeing that being a reason to do so. Otherwise the eggs and potatoes were nicely seasoned/cooked. I would have really enjoyed a small thing of jam with my sourdough bread, however they did butter and toast it. I also wish they offered free refills of their drip coffee. Mine went cold after a few minutes with it being out in the open and with a small crisp breeze within the restaurant where I was sitting in the back. I just had to jump back in line to grab a chocolate chip cookie & chocolate croissant I had been eyeing and they were both delicious! I so badly wanted to give this place 5 stars, but it just wasn't quite there for me. However, I would be happy to come back soon and give it another shot! read more

Been experimenting with different coffee shops for study spots and decided to try out Caffee Nero. Instantly was charmed by the large book shelves and cozy seating. Got a hot chocolate, the turkey & avocado sandwich, and coffee cake. Staff were friendly and efficient getting the drink and food out. Food and cocoa were DELICIOUS. You can tell the bread and pastries are fresh. The inside is very spacious and offers an array of different seating (armchairs, window seats, tables, booths). They have free wifi (no password needed) and books to choose from. Music isn't too loud which makes it easier to focus. Street, lot, and parking garage nearby. Good for groups or just going solo. Will definitely be back in for another visit soon read more

The Nero vibe is very nice. Comfortable seating and good lighting. The feedback is it's an adult venue...what's up with elementary school napkins? It's should not be necessary to keep pulling more and more napkins to get enough to make one comfortable wiping their mouth and fingers. A larger napkin that's found in Starbucks and upscale coffee locations offer that reasonable amenity...and most likely customers will use less napkins. Nero is focused on cost per napkins when they should consider cost per customer use. Additionally, on June 3 the outside temps were in the 80's...the A/C was not detected. I asked is it on? They said yes, but if so the thermostat was not allowing cold air to permeate the seating area. read more

This place has a lot of hidden fees. We were charged extra for single origin coffee even though we didn't ask for single origin. They also charge you for having your order to stay. I was told it was a fee to use their cups and plates, and they don't charge for to go containers. So weird for a place to encourage single use containers that will end up in a landfill rather plates and mugs that can be washed and reused. They don't automatically give you your receipt, you have to ask for it, so I think many people don't even know they are being charged for these "extras". read more
