My friend and I wanted a place in between Long Island and North Haven and we landed on Norwalk. We looked up places on Yelp and chose Caffe Social. When we got there, there was an hour wait and a very long line but I was determined to check out the food. The hour went by quick and we got a table towards the back of the restaurant right next to the windows. The service was a bit sub par as our waitress seemed to be new but she was sweet which added to the experience. I ordered the Nutella hot chocolate, which made me very happy after the first taste, and then I got the loaded waffles which had strawberries, Nutella and all the works. I'm excited to come back here post the pandemic as I truly loved the food. The ambience also felt great. read more

Myself and three others stopped in for brunch and every single person loved their meal as well as their drinks. We had a variety of items from one of the breakfast sandwiches (I believe it was the fully loaded) a cali Benedict and blueberry pancakes. Delicious! I definitely recommend ordering family style and sharing. For us, it was a rainy day which meant the patio was closed. The patio provides a lot of the additional seating and there is not a huge amount of space inside though it still accommodates quite a few. If its too cold or rainy for the patio to be open I definitely recommend calling ahead to inquire about potential wait times since there are not many other restaurants near by serving similar items. read more

Tried caffe social for breakfast on a Sunday around 10am and it was absolutely packed! The restaurant is so organized and well run so we sat within 10-15 minutes. Got a matcha latte and the Cali eggs Benedict. Super fresh and perfectly poached eggs. Came with home fries on the side. Service was quick and friendly. Went here with my best friend for a late birthday brunch celebration. We both had the Lavendar and lemonade mimosa. We intended to order breakfast but was persuaded to order lunch after reviewing the lunch options and based on our waitress suggestion. We ordered the salmon burger. The waiter said it was made inhouse so we had to give it a try. It came with a side salad that was so light, fulfilling, and delicious. It felt super healthy and not heavy at all. We did see a waitress pass by with a baklava and walnut pancake order, which happened to be a special on the menu. We passed it up as we didn't want to feel overly full. We both agreed we would be back. The room was super busy and filled with people. At thr bar they showcased numerous pastries, decadent desserts, and muffins. What a fun surprise! Stumbled on this place while searching for brunch one rainy day and am so glad I did! As you as you walk in you see and hear the place is a buzz with energy and all kinds of fun decor. We lucked out and scored a table for 4 on a Sunday with no reservations. The menu is super fun and offers unique takes on the normal brunch type fare. Most of us went with some sort of a Benedict but enjoyed them in several different ways (see images). There was honestly so much fun sounding options we want to go back and just order a bunch of stuff to share so we get the full experience. I heard amazing things about some of their creative drinks but sadly only got myself a basic coffee. Will for sure be back and will get more yummy food pictures to next time! read more

My first trip to Caffe Social was for brunch on a busy Sunday morning. Although the restaurant was packed, we were seated within 20 minutes, and still had great service on an extremely popular day. The atmosphere was bright and sunny, with an inviting feel. The waitstaff were fantastic and I was most impressed by the extensive menu that had pages of mimosa types, hot chocolates, coffees, breakfast, lunch, and daily specials. I tried the new Red Velvet Latte and special of the day: Black Forrest Pancakes. The latte was rich and full of mocha, with a beautiful display. The pancakes came in a massive mound, enough for me to have leftovers for days! The flavors of cherry and chocolate were not overwhelming, but subtle, allowing for the taste of an old fashioned pancake stack to come through. I will definitely be back to try a new breakfast special, mimosa, and coffee soon! read more

My Dad suggested this place for Lunch and it was fantastic! Across from the movie theater on Main Street. This place does breakfast and lunch and is decorated adorably. I had the pressed cutlet sandwich. I subbed provolone cheese instead of American, they were very accommodating with changes. It was excellent! The menu has something for everyone, fresh salads, omelettes, sandwiches for every taste. I also had an excellent cappuccino. Service was great and prices were fair! I ordered a mocktail, virgin espresso martini. I took 2 sips and didn't like it. I asked for another coffee drink to replace the one I didn't like. Later on, checking out I had the espresso martini on my check still. I talked to one of the servers. They said they had to keep it on a receipt with a discount of 4 dollars on returned item because there was 'nothing wrong' with the recipe of that drink. Basically this restaurant don't care about the drink they make tastes terrible. They will charge you in any cases. It's a terrible service operation where there's a lucky draw on food and drink items and it doesn't matter if you don't like it, you will need to pay. I felt robbed and this never sounds fair to me. We ordered the Italian Benedict and the Avocado toast, as well as dirty chai lattes. The food and drinks weren't especially flavorful or notable, but were quite expensive. Location is perfectly situated on a corner not far from the sono aquarium and mall, with great street parking. Ample seating outside as well as inside and bar seating. Visited caffe social for brunch and it was super delicious. I had the Greek Benedict and my partner had the classic Benedict with the turmeric latte. This spot is definitely "insta worthy", as they have rotating specials that will make your camera and your belly full and happy. MOTHER'S BEWARE!!!!! Had the worst experience dinning at this restaurant for lunch. Came in on a Thursday noonish the restaurant had 7 tables available I asked to sit down while waiting for two more people to arrive and they turned me away, meanwhile it's 20 degrees outside and I had an infant in a stroller. "I was advised I had to wait for my party to arrive". In addition once I was able to sit down they required me to close the stroller and remove my infant son from the car seat and put in a high chair (6month baby yeah right). The staff was rude and the food quality has really gone down. In addition I ordered a salad and it had no dressing so I asked the waitress for the dressing, when I received the bill they charged us for extra dressing (the dressing that was suppose to be originally on the salad wtf). The food from an extensive menu was delicious, in large portions, and beautifully presented. The various coffees and drinks were very good. The restaurant was made more special by the clientele. A little hip, trendy place..decided to give it a try. Smaller menu than most but we voted it just right. Service was excellent..our waitress was lovely. My friend asked if they had hash browns..they did and she highly recommends!! Food was delicious...and they know how to butter toast! Only downside was our lattes were only warm...to be fair, we didn't say amazing and I'm more than certain they would have redone them in an instant. Small place so pretty close quarters... The place is lovely, great location, fantastic comfortable and bright atmosphere. Very cute for brunch! The menu (perhaps maybe just the brunch menu) is pretty basic with sandwiches; paninis, eggs dishes that you could find at a deli. It wasn't anything that stood out. Nevertheless, it tasted very good and was well made. However, the reputation may have gotten a bit ahead of this place: The main issue is the waitresses -- who were tense, breathing down people's backs, watching the customers like hawks, and kicking people out once they had been seated for a little over 1 hour. There was a short line for brunch, and especially during COVID I understand the pressure to have high table turnover. However, while nice, the waitresses were aggressive, pushy, stressed, and watching every movement of the clients to get people out the door asap. As predicted, my friend and I were asked to leave after 1 hour 15 minutes because we were told there were others waiting to be seated. Furthermore, we were rushed all throughout the meal, I had food locking in my throat, and felt hounded and nervous for most of the time being watched so sternly... knowing that they would do just what I feared: kick out the customers after a brief shoved down meal, that had been uncomfortable the entre time. Really a shame. My advice to the owners/ manager: Avoid forcing service that is rude, uncomfortable, and unprofessional, in the name of profit, if you can help it. read more
