Let's talk about Café Leon dore! So I visited this place while I was on a trip to New York City. Well, getting here consist of taking trains. There is some small amount of parking available. If you know where to look. Now Let's talk about the coffee. I ordered a vanilla latte and got to sit outside in one of their two seaters. Taste of the coffee was great. It was strong, rich and really got you going. The vanilla syrup was settled, but you can still feel it. The price was adequate for a drink of that type. The space is very small for the café, so don't expect to sit inside at all but what you will find is a curated menu. Great staff and a great selection of accessories. I popped in here the other night as I was in the area, and looking to warm up. The space itself is very cozy and cute, with lots of wood accents. Just as a note, there isn't anyplace to sit, so if you're looking to sit down, this spot might not be a good choice. The menu had a good selection of coffees and teas, and also had some pastries. Beautiful little cafe giving off Nolita/Soho vibes. They have repainted the shop to black this year (from white) which still looked good and gave it a fresher look. There wasnt any seating so we just did a grab-and-go. There are some merchandise for sale and I was so tempted to get an espresso cup. I don't know what stars to give this place as I have not tried their drinks or food yet. I came down to this area and wanted to find a coffee shop to stop by at before I had to go somewhere else that I was early to. I walked in the door was open so I figured they were open. When I walked in I got stared at in an odd way for a second. One of the ladies said it a pretty rude way we are not open for another 15 min, I said oh ok sorry didn't realize. I asked if it was possible I stood by the door or by the window just to keep warm for a bit. She said no as they weren't opened yet. I figured that is what they were going to say. But she could have said it in a nicer way. I walked out but was not going to wait around for 15 min in the cold when she was rude to me. Maybe next time I am in the area I will stop by to try their coffee drink they are known for but not 100% sure. This place was very small and from what I read in other reviews its connected to a clothing store of sorts. When I walked in, it seemed like a very chic, upscale bougie coffee shop and I was excited to try it. Oh well. There's a few tables right outside the cafe, which was perfect when we stopped by because the weather was so nice, but there's no seating inside. The cafe sells branded merch (aprons and towels etc), and the pastries looked yummy but we ended up just ordering their iced freddo cappaccino. They give you the option of adding either sugar or honey to the coffee (I opted for honey). Overall the drink was fine - the coffee was strong and and milk foam (they said it was made from 2% skim milk) was thick. Came for the viral Freddo cappuccino. It was super popular last summer and now that the hype has died down I was finally able to check it out without waiting in long lines. When ordering they ask if you'd like sugar or honey added to the drink. As someone who usually prefers sweeter coffee I opted for both sugar and honey. I think this is what really made me enjoy it. I saw reviews state that the coffee itself tasted sour, but for mine the sugar masked that a bit so I enjoyed it. It wasn't the best coffee I ever had, but the presentation is pretty and I loved the aesthetic. We also ordered a chocolate croissant and chocolate chip cookie. I actually really enjoyed the croissant. It was soft and had a good amount of chocolate inside. The cookie was ok, a little too cakey for my preference. There's no seating inside, just a small counter to stand and eat if you'd like. No outside tables either. It's good to try the Freddo cappuccino once, but not sure if it's for everyone. As someone who has a poor sense of fashion, I was intimidated by this entire area--I mean come on, even the coffee is aesthetic. my friend and I waited around 15 minutes in line to order coffee here, after which my friend also went to look in the clothing shop. I think they can serve 2-3 people at a time because the shop is so small, and I just stood by the barista to watch him make my drink after ordering. There's also free candy that you can take. It had strong notes of chrysanthemum which I love. The crowd that hangs around in front (not the staff) does make me feel a little uncomfortable and a lot of pedestrians pass by this street; plus a restaurant with outdoor seating is right across so it's very busy here with a lot of people weaving in and out.
