I was in Chinatown on Saturday morning for an appointment and was way too early. Since I had time to kill, I decided to partake in my favorite side quest in Chinatown, which is to find the best cup of coffee. I've been to all the cafes within a 5 block radius of say, Mott and Canal, except for apparently Park at Kims. Well, it was a great side quest. It was busy, but I was able to grab a spot to sit and enjoy my iced Americano. The coffee was fantastic, honestly one of the best I've had in not just the area, but in the city. I actually went back when I was in the area a few days later for another appointment. It was out of the way, but I still did it. Tasted just as good. read more

It is a rather small cafe with seats. They were playing soft music. It was pretty casual. The order process was pretty efficient. They answered my questions about the drinks offered (I didn't know what a Chita was). The sweeteners they had available was simple syrup, honey and vanilla (which comes at a charge). I ordered an iced matcha with oat milk and vanilla. It was pretty smooth and the sweetness came through though it didn't overwhelm the matcha flavor. Straws are available on the side. Stopped by this cute little Korean- and Nepali-influenced cafe. Their matcha latte was solid - well mixed with a good ratio of matcha and milk. They currently are utilizing Kettl matcha but previously was offering a different brand I believe. The cortado had good espresso but it was slightly too milky. Next time I'd love to try their chiya, which I learned is a Nepali-style chai that they make in house with a stronger ginger flavor. The chocolate chip cookie was very solid! I really enjoyed the overall crunch, the generous amount of delicious dark chocolate chunks, and the sprinkle of sugar granules on top. The space has a decent amount of seating but it gets busy on the weekends. Laptops were allowed but not sure about the weekdays. They also showcase a variety of coffee beans and alcohol. Super simple and clean interior, nice clean bathroom (although one stall), and friendly staff are enough qualities to bring me back in NYC. Park at Kims is not a merely a tale of a coffee shop's beginnings on a sleepy block of Elizabeth Street in 2025 but is longer larger book that one can experience the products of its effort, imagination, culture, genuine hospitality, and a lil bit of magic via in a cup of coffee to stay or go. passed by Park at Kims (PaK) during their soft opening a few months ago and saw a line but didn't have time to stop, but thankfully I did not forget this place and have stopped by quite a number of times recently. there is Korean influence in the vibe and feelings evoked in the coffee shop while still navigating the contours of being a coffee experience in NYC and representing both places in obvious and subtle ways. the main takeaway is that Park at Kim's set a high standard for its coffee offerings and potable alchemy, small menu of small bites, and its welcoming nature to guests. the quality of coffee served and how it's prepared is top-notch and represents itself in each brew of coffee. only have tried the drip (Loquat coffee, Los Angeles roaster) as well as Americanos (one of several Korean origin coffee beans served here). coffee is a serious business in Korea, huge consumption by the populace, and coffee shop competition there is insanely high--Park at Kims takes the best of that discipline in terms of coffee without "harshing the vibe" or removing the energy from the fun because ultimately it's about great tasting coffee and a pleasant memory whether it's by a one-time visitor or a regular. the Loquat coffee bean used in the drip coffee has a light fruit notes with a hint of sweetness...honestly, the drip is so consistent here that you don't get that crazy variance that you are often faced with at many other coffee spots...another hat tip to the folks operating PaK and their dedication to coffee-making as a craft as opposed to being a generic "product/service." forgot the blend i asked for in the Americanos i've enjoyed, but it's a smooth medium roast with a mellow flavor of chocolate, nuts, and je-ne-sais-quoi! don't sleep on the small eats here--typically a limited offering of doughnuts, kouign amann (or similar pastries), and the Doenjang jambon beurre sandwich. haven't tried the sweeter options like the doughnuts, but the Doenjang jambon beurre sandwich is a must-have. seriously. thinly sliced ham, compounded butter (butter infused with the savory flavor of Doenjang a soybean paste), a pickled element (maybe radish), all of that is sandwiched is a baguette roll that might be one of the finest breads to be had in lower Manhattan (not sure where PaK sources the baguette, but keep it a secret!)... the sandwich is really good bc that baguette takes it to the next level. the interior is medium-sized with seating options spread on either side for solos, pairs, small groups and a couple of seats at the counter bar. the vibe is modern and friendly with a light warm clean-to-the-eyes aesthetic for those staying for a coffee or two. seating is frequently occupied during prime time hours or like the weekends. the service is excellent--friendly, authentic, and clearly focused on making a cup of coffee a bright spot to the day as opposed to a commodified one. whenever i have had q's about what coffee or brew to get (even when the shop is superbusy and I appreciate that), the kindness in the answers goes above and beyond what's typically doled out elsewhere. in fact, have had several fun chats with Sojan (sp?), one of the owner-operators about some of the coffee beans that they sell by the bag as well as ones they use in-house. he's a cool dude along with his fellow owners and staff who understand how a customer experience is not just a transaction for tangible product that ends once the coffee is made, but in making a connection with the coffee that lasts beyond the last drip. looking forward to eventually having a cortado, a flat white, and a pour over there...when there's a seat to snag--heh. highly encourage anyone who enjoys coffee to head here for the excellent coffee vibes and beyond. read more

The space was such an experience! It felt like a fusion of East Coast & West Coast vibes. The coffee was delicious; We ordered two pourovers (one iced, one hot), and you could tell the staff really took their time carefully crafting each drink. The only downside is the limited seating, so it might be tough finding a spot, esp if you're hoping to wfh. Overall, great vibes, great aesthetics, and great coffee! read more

Amazing new cafe with wide array of specialty coffee. When I went they had espresso and drip from Loquat coffee which is a west coast all-time-favorite of mine roasted in Los Angeles, California. They have various hand brews from their in house Park at Kims coffee roasted in Seoul, South Korea. Very sweet and informative staff and prompt service. Good amount of seating and great location that's easy to get to. Since their coffee rotates often I look forward to returning often to keep trying new coffees! read more

The coffee here is so good! I had an iced vanilla latte and immediately wanted another one. The space is very aesthetic and vibey. A gem of a cafe in the Little Italy / Chinatown neighbourhood that has seen a spike of options in recent years. However, the novelty wears off for many while PaK easily stands out upon first visit with wonderful hospitality and helpful staff. Being able to pass by on a daily basis, you can the patronage of loyal regulars working in the cafe or hanging outside enjoying their beverages, Doubt Ill get a chance to secure a seat in the near future! Even if that is merely anecdotal, the coffee offerings are excellent from personal experience. The hand brew is beautifully aromatic yet subtle and diligently handcrafted. Park at Kims is my latest little obsession. Upon entering, I was greeted by the staff warmly, and my order came out with a little smiley face to signal I had asked for it sweet. The coffee is a tad bit more on the acidic side, but just a light touch, so that it's not overpowering, but more so a little nudge at the end of each sip. They use expensive beans here, and the owner seems to really enjoy their craft and the way they greet, speak, and interact with the guests shows how much they love coffee and community. The space itself is more on the medium side (at least for Downtown Manhattan), where quite a few cafes have trouble seating 2 groups. The ambiance is light, warm, and cozy. There's a good amount of seating, unless you're coming by on a weekend, where the line gets a little longer and the seats become scarce and well sought out. Demographic here tends to lean a little bit on the pretentious side, at least for what I'm used to in the LES. That, fashion m*kers, and the smiski/samba wearing type of girlies. The coffee makes it worth it. I like to sip and finish my drink at the cafe, allowing myself a little escape from the bustling nature of Chinatown that's very lively just outside the door. Ambiance is nice here. The barista seems friendly enough. First time here but I didn't feel that it was that welcoming. I was taking a look around and love visiting coffee shops. Was excited to see another new type of beans to try. The sandwich looks very plain with pickled radish and Black Forest ham but ended up being the spotlight for the whole place. The sandwich gives it a 5 star for the crispy of the bun but still a little soft. The balance of the paste and the radish with ham is a very god balance. When I got to the latte. That was very disappointing, it was pretty much like every other place I've been where their milk over powers the taste of the beans. It was milk forward and coffee aftertaste. Super disappointing not much flavor in the beans. I'll be back for the sandwich again and maybe give their pour over a try hopefully it'll have more flavor. I got the pour over #2 and it was actually really pleasant. Reminds me of a black tea. Not too dark. Clean finish with a little acidic at the end. The first sip of the pour over was very clean, but when you get to the end of the bottom, it becomes more acidic and I got nausea drinking it. Came back a few times got the sandwich again and tried all the donuts. The donuts are pretty decent. Cortado you can taste the beans slightly more than the small latte I got. Cute spot and the baristas are friendly depending who you get in the front. I would recommend here but if you want strong, bold flavor beans this is not the place to go.
