We went here on a weekday and walk in's were fine. The place is huge, nice and clean. This breakfast/brunch buffet had a lot of food choices. From hot dishes like scrambled egg, frittata, chicken or pork sausages, bacon, beans to assortment of cheeses, pastries and made to order omelets, waffles and eggs Benedict. They were all delicious. They even have several infused water to choose from. They also have fresh fruits, yogurt and bowls of chia seeds. The staff was great specially our waiter Luigi. Christmas Day brunch at Cafe Osceola was an excellent experience from start to finish. The extensive brunch spread had a first-class variety of hot and cold items, fresh pastries, made to order omelettes AND pasta, that were indulgent and plentiful. There was way too much to sample it all in one sitting. My faves were the shrimp cocktail, sushi, and fresh salad selections. The unlimited mimosas meant our glasses were never empty. Service was attentive and friendly throughout, with staff checking in often and making the entire meal feel relaxed and special. There was a bit of a wait when I visited for Sunday morning brunch. Nothing excessive, however. I was truly impressed by the expansiveness of the buffet offerings. As you can see, I had no problem loading up my plate with an exciting variety of items. The standouts for me were the potatoes, the roasted tomatoes, and the corned beef hash. The fruit topping for my cottage cheese was also delightful. Although I didn't have any, the fresh honeycomb slab was a nice touch. A server came over to offer us coffee. While the variety was certainly impressive, the actual flavor of the food was a major disappointment. Everything tasted bland and average at best--nothing stood out, and most items felt like they'd been sitting out for too long. What made the experience even worse was the price. The menu listed breakfast at $30, but by the time two of us added drinks and left a tip, the total came to **$90**. For food that was this underwhelming, it definitely wasn't worth the money. What a creative menu! We actually had the buffet, and it was fantastic! In addition to the buffet, they do offer an a la cart menu. Like I said, the buffett was fantastic. A few of the more Creative items were the egg white bites (They reminded me of the sous vide offered at Starbucks.). There were also a variety of chia seed puddings and oatmeal flan! This is on lower level and seemed to be open only for breakfast. That said, the buffet had some unique selections. Very nice egg white frittatas, great grits, an oatmeal flan, lox, and a selection of meats. This is a bit on the pricey side, but expected in a post-pandemic resort. The coffee was a bit weak. Had the Christmas Brunch. The service is excellent. It is immaculate. There was an Asian bar including dumplings and sushi, a salad bar -make your own or specialty salads that were delicious. The was a seafood area cold shrimp, oysters, ceviche. A seafood dish like paella, carving stations with turkey-I didn't like the texture-and prime rib. Soups, or dishes. An omelet station. A pasta station. Pastries and an ice cream station. I am sure I forgot some things. Our servers were fantastic and friendly. Unlimited mimosas. We have been here a number of times over the years, some on different holidays. Christmas seems the best. It is pricey but a nice treat. read more

We went for their Christmas Day Brunch and selected this location because of the buffet menu and the fact that they listed a resident discount. When I called to make the reservation, I confirmed that they were indeed offering a resident discount and asked if I needed to prepay to get it and was told we just needed to show our proof upon check in. However, when we checked in yesterday for brunch and I asked for the discount, I was told they no longer offered it. We paid the full price, $383 for 3 people, since our only other option was to leave. I looked online while we were seated and did not see the discount listed anymore. I wish I had printed it when I saw it online and I would upload it with my review. The food was very good until we got to the entree. The salad bar, soup and sushi were excellent. The dumplings, I believe, came from the freezer and weren't good at all. The prime rib was the biggest disappointment and one of the reasons we picked this brunch. It was like cardboard and extremely hard to cut - we only ate the first bite, set it aside and headed to the dessert table, which was also very good. Service was very good; however, the 26% that they automatically add to your bill seems a bit extreme when the servers only pour your water, mimosa and clear your plates. We learned out lesson though; we will be looking for another place for Christmas Brunch next year. read more

This is a lovely, albeit pricey, restaurant located on the lower lobby level of the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel. I came here for breakfast, by myself, planning on having just a sandwich and coffee. The waiter informed me, thankfully, that the price of a sandwich and coffee together would only be a dollar or so cheaper than the full breakfast buffet ($18.50) that included hot, cold, fruit, pastries, omelet bar, coffee(!) plus fresh squeezed OJ, etc. Well, what do you think I did? Yes, buffet, here I come. I tried to have a tiny bit of everything but failed miserably because there was a LOT of stuff on the bar. Never did make it to the omelet bar, it was very popular and busy. Everything I did try was delicious. (See picture.) (Not pictured, I did go back and grab a couple of tiny pastries. Also delish.) The coffee was amazing. Had multiple cups. Just the right temperature and half & half cream provided on the table. What really thrilled me was they had an OJ machine - a real one. I haven't seen anything like that since I was a kid. They put the oranges in the top bin, they rolled to the bottom, and when you put your glass under the spigot and pressed the button, the inside turned like a waterwheel and squeezed the oranges and it filtered right into your glass. First, the good. Michelda was an EXCELLENT server. Her attentiveness and pleasant attitude blew me away. She is what other servers should be striving for. You better keep her! The lady chef ( sorry didn't get her name but she's there at 4 am) was so friendly. Now the not so good. Food was just ok unless it was made to order. Not sure if warmers not doing its job but stuff was not hot. Flavors were kind of bland for me. Second, be aware of the 18%! service charge that does not include your tip. ( If it does go to tip, that should be disclosed, imo). Therefore it may be more costly than you want ( and can get better quality elsewhere nearby). This place was great! First of all, we had some trouble with parking and the manager of the restaurant (Aziza) helped us right away and greeted us by name when we stepped inside. Once we got to the table we got greeted right away by ur server, Edwing. There was so much amazing food. Such as fruit,cheese, waffles and pancakes, breakfast meat, and potatoes. They also had things you wouldn't usually see at buffets such as chia seed pudding, a large piece of honeycomb and oatmeal flan! As we left Edwing put my drink in a cup to go and offered to refill it too. The price was very reasonable for how much food you get and half price for 11 and under. We recently moved back to the mainland after living in Hawaii for the past 3 years. Our extended family tried Cafe Osceola (which is one of the restaurants in the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel) last year for Thanksgiving Dinner as a new tradition. They really liked it and suggested that we join them this year on our first year back. It was kind of strange not to cook on either Thanksgivings (Canadian or American) and as sad as I was to not cook my favorite meal of the year, I couldn't resist giving up all the long hours in the hot kitchen, let alone the giant mess to clean up afterwards. I mean, twist my rubber arm! I had heard that this was quite the buffet, so in preparation, I had a very light breakfast and stopped eating until dinner. We were heading out around 4 pm. I took a peek at their menu on their website and I just couldn't believe how long it was! And also, it's one thing to read it, it's another thing to actually see the whole spread. OMG, it is ridiculous! I tried as much as I could to literally taste one of everything and it is impossible! There were so many stations and just such a variety at each one. Just to give you an idea, these were the stations: Soups Appetizers Salad Bar Fruit Bar Cheeses Antipasto Seafood (included shrimps, mussels and ceviche) DIm Sum Yakisoba Stir Fry Paella (this was too soggy in my opinion but impressive to look at) Sushi (assortment of nigiri and makis) Pork Belly Baos (these were yummy!) Make your own Pasta Chef Action Station (breakfast) Omelet, Pancakes and Eggs Benedict Kids (chicken tenders and Mac and Cheese) Prime Rib and Turkey and all the fixin's for Thanksgiving Dinner Dessert Table including a Chocolate Fountain Just check out their website and you can see a full list. I have just listed the stations above. Just the Dessert Table alone will make your sweet tooth fall off just looking at it! Some of my faves were the Prime Rib, seafood, sushi, the pork belly baos, the sage stuffing was good and of course, the dessert table. Parking - They had valet parking which was great. There was no time to waste to get to the food. I was hungry by then! Pricing - I think for $75 a person, if you are a good eater and love to try everything, this was worth it! Kids 4-11 was $30 and Ages 3 and under eat for FREE. Both my kids ate their weights worth of food and thoroughly enjoyed everything, especially the sweet waffles and desserts. Service - Service was impeccable. We had at least 2 servers to come and check on us as well as others to just clear the plates. Vibe - This restaurant is downstairs from the lobby, going down a beautiful winding staircase. The hotel is beautiful itself. I also loved that they added the photo booth (free of charge) complete with props and you can take all sorts of pictures and keep the photo both in print and you can have it emailed to you! I thought that that was a nice touch and something thoughtful of the hotel to provide. All in all, this was a great alternative to Thanksgiving Dinner where your family comes together and everyone just ditches the cooking and you can all sit down and enjoy a meal together. read more

Time for an overdue update. Instead of giving up after our first visit we gave them a second chance - so glad we did because on multiple return visits we had much better experiences. All visits were for their Mother's Day and Easter Brunches. While not the cheapest buffet around, the variety and quality of food are top notch. The service staff has been consistently attentive and very friendly. There is always a good assortment of both sweet and savory buffet selections, and there a always a prime rib cutting station present now. The dessert selection and presentation is awesome too. You really have to pace yourself and have a game plan so you don't fill up before you get to some of the must try items. The champagne and mimosa glasses are always kept full be the service staff and used plates are quickly removed to make room for returns to the buffet line. On several occasions the owner, Harry Rosen, has even gone table to table checking with the guests to make sure everything is good. The grounds are pretty too and the valet parking is validated for your restaurant visit. Be sure to make reservations early to reserve a good time and be aware that they offer a Florida resident discount. An 18% gratuity is automatically added - but it is well earned. The Rosen Shingle Creek hotel is beautiful. So I had high expectations for Cafe Osceola. It's located downstairs with a couple other shops, so we made our way down the staircase. The entrance opens directly into the restaurant without any doors (or ceilings, for that matter, as you can look into the restaurant from the second floor). We were seated at two tables for our group of 8. There was the option of ordering off the menu or the buffet line, and after a quick walkthrough of the buffet offerings, we ended up eating from the buffet. The buffet has four main components: the soup and salad bar, the cold bar, the hot bar and the dessert counter. Each is substantial and has a bit of everything. There were two soups to choose from and a salad bar that had many of my favorite salad toppers - win. I dove right into the minestrone, which wasn't bad. After that, I got a huge plate of the Caprese. That fresh mozzarella, though. Now, if they had some basil to add that, it would have been perfect. There was a shrimp cocktail station, which started out with some plump fresh shrimp. Once it ran out, it was refilled with some soggy shrimp that just didn't look as tasty, which was pretty disappointing. The hot bar had plenty of meats to choose from. Everything here was good, but not super memorable. The hot sliced prime rib and the BBQ pork were big hits at my table. The fish dishes were a bit overcooked and not very appetizing. The dessert bar was probably the most disappointing. With all the delicious looking and sounding cakes on display, you would have thought they would have all been delectable... The Black Forest cake was just a simple chocolate cake, not the moist and rich Black Forest I was expecting. The other cakes were also just simple and standard, not exciting. The guava cake was probably the best - light but sweet and a little exotic. Overall, the buffet wasn't bad. I suppose for a hotel restaurant, I can't complain. read more

This is one of the cleanest and highest quality buffets you will find outside of a casino. Miles above Golden Corral, although with a smaller number of choices. They rotate in new entrees each day so, if you are staying at the hotel for a few days, you'll get a different experience every time. The soup, steak and pasta bolognese options were always great. The price is also reasonable. I think it's about $20 and then, if you sign up for the Rosen card, you save 25% on top of that. Enjoy! read more

A group of us teachers went to celebrate the last day of school. When we got there we were told we would have to pay for parking no validation even though we were eating at the restaurant. We said we were teachers and if they offers a discount they said no. We said there is a party of 11 you will loose that business they did not care so we left. Cafe Osceola is a large restaurant in the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort. It is probably one of the more expensive options here, but at least for breakfast it was well worth it. The price was $17.50, but believe me, I have seen many hotel breakfast buffets that were more expensive and the quality was not as good. At least during the week the items were all breakfast related (no hot lunch entrees) but there was lots to choose from. There was one station with cereals, yogurt, and other cold items that I did not even get to. The next station was my favorite. It had tons of fresh fruit, sliced meat, cheese, charcuterie, smoked pepper salmon, honey smoked salmon, and smoked mahi. I tried all the smoked fish and it was delicious. This station also had hot cereals and an "oatmeal mousse" atop muesli. I gave this interesting looking dish a taste but I thought it was a bit strange. Cold oatmeal just did not float my boat. A third station offered breads, muffins, pastries, and cake. I had a bagel but none of the sweets although they looked fresh and delicious. The last station had omelets made to order and several hot items. Besides omelets, the omelet man made a really mean Benedict with thick bacon and perfectly cooked fried eggs. Most of the hot dishes were pretty traditional: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, tater tots. The whole grain pancakes were a nice touch...they had texture, taste, and the whole grain at least made them seem a bit tastier than the average pancake. The blintzes, with a creamy cheese filling, were served on an apple compote. They were more like a dessert and tasted heavenly. Servers were friendly, polite and on top of filling coffee, juice, and other assorted beverages. This restaurant is at Rosen Shingle Creek. They validate your parking, so don't forget to give them your parking ticket when you pay. This place was surprisingly good. Everything was fresh and served at the right temperature. And the flavors were on point! The salad bar had a great selection, and the hot foods were original and tasty. Not sure that there's much here for kids, but that's a good thing. Why shouldn't there be at least one restaurant that caters to adult tastes? we had the privilege of being served by Michelda here - I have travelled all over and was blown away by this waitress - we did the buffet which is awesome but she would come to our table always smiling making sure we had everything we needed which in my experience with buffets that the waitress shows up once or maybe twice then you never see them again. There were 5 of us and we all agreed that her personality showed how much she enjoyed her job and servicing her customers - this could of been a one time deal but we were there every morning for 10 days and the days she was working she was always the same. She talked very highly of her manager and the place she worked for. Whomever does the hiring should be commended as the restaurants we went to at Rosen were not only good but the staff as well. This is the quintessential resort/hotel restaurant at the Rosen Shingle Creek. There are numerous dining options here, but this is the backbone of the hotel. It's your typical Vegas-style buffet restaurant with an a la carte menu as well. The dinner buffet was $25 per person which is pretty expensive for the offerings available, but if you buy a $25 certificate from Restaurant.com, it brings the price in line. You'll find the usual suspects on the line: salad bar, peel-and-eat cocktail shrimp, soups, desserts, prime rib, chicken, pork, potatoes, etc. Nothing particular local about the food with the exception of the gator stew. There is enough selection to keep your whole party happy. Some dishes were hits, some were not, but you definitely find something to satisfy you. The decor of the place could definitely use an update. When you're sitting at your table, you definitely know you're in a hotel restaurant. Old carpet, dull colors. AMAZING lunch buffet. I can't speak to the cost/value, as I have always visited as part of a work event, but as far as buffets go, this spot is top notch. Located in the gorgeous Rosen Shingle Creek resort, the restaurant is bright and airy, located on the lower level of the resort with multi-story ceilings and a wall of windows looking out onto the resort grounds. The buffet features a great mix of high quality foods, including a soup and salad bar, prepared salads, a sandwich making station and a hot line with a variety of high quality proteins and sides. Dessert offerings are expansive and delicious as well! You can also count on prompt service at your table for drinks and plate clearing! On my most recent visit, there was a large convention in the resort creating a long lunchtime line, but the staff at Café Osceola were able to keep things moving and keep their guests happy! I had previously written a much longer note than this so I'm just giving fellow Yelpers an update. We have visited Café Osceola and been served by Zebrina twice since our Easter visit. The next time was their normal Sunday brunch. Normal isn't really a fair word for this place. After experiencing Easter, you'd think this experience wouldn't match up. Certainly this was the eggs and bacon and French toast selection but to be fair, at almost $50 less per person, it again was a great experience! Zebrina was great, always attentive and we love chatting with her. Never overbearing, just nice and ensures we are always well taken care of. We were just there on Sunday for Mother's Day. Bravo - another fantastic experience. Very similar to the Easter Buffet but with it's own twists, we were overwhelmed by the variety and wonderfully prepared dishes. Zebrina was there again (she must be getting tired of seeing us!) and did a wonderful job. The displays were beautiful, the food was hot and fresh and so tasty and the staff was smiling and sweet and were there with whatever we needed. Mr. Rosen swung through again offering my wife a Happy Mother's day. Zebrina gave my wife Sherry the pretty plant from the table (if this gets her in trouble - SHE DIDN'T DO IT! lol). which we'll be sure to plant. So that's it. I can't wait to go back again. Table for 2 --- 18% tip automatically included. Table for 1 --- 18% tip automatically included! Just go for the buffet. I was here for almost a week and got one of the breakfast plates. This plus a side of orange juice already makes the buffet worth it. Grab a banana or a box of cereal while you're at it to go to make the 18% tip worth it. The service does vary... so you're not getting 18% service quality consistently. read more

Our main reason for coming here is that we were staying at the Shingle Creek resort. They are also currently offering restauarant certificates on restaurant.com so it is worth trying! I ordered the ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes. The steal and mashed potatoes were the best part of dinner! And as an appetizer we had the spinach artichoke dip. The dip was great but the accompanying chips could have been better. On the menu it says "garlic crostini" but they only gave us a few garlic crostini's and a basket of chips. As for dessert we had the "peace offering", it was delicious. The only thing I would change is to have a warm brownie at the bottom. Service was incredible and all the food was beautifully presented. I would still eat here again if I was staying at the Shingle Creek resort. And the entire grounds of the hotel are beautiful. read more
