Cute spot that was recommended to us by a local artist, Tim. We enjoyed the meatballs and loved having a true Swedish meal! Their desserts looked delicious. There is not a bad seat in the house! I recommend you sit inside to get the full jail cell vibe! The host at the front was a bit rude and the waitress never came back to give us our check so we finally got up to go pay(unsure if this is normal there). The pasta needed a bit salt and pepper but I would say it's the spot for the meatballs! I think they should add plaques about the history too!

Hidden gem! It was raining, so we looked for the first Hobbit we could find and stumbled upon this quaint little cafe. I order led some dun cake and a round of hot chocolate; definitely hit the spot. So if you are looking for a place to relax, why not Cafe Sten Sture??

This restaurant, which is an old underground prison, was located seconds from our Airbnb. It was the first place we saw after dropping off our bags. Normally we wouldn't go in the first place we see, but the decor was very intriguing. We were cordially greeted and sat in a private booth. The history is just amazing and the food is the same! My wife and I both ordered traditional Swedish dishes and we were both very impressed. For dessert, I took a Swedish chocolate ball to go with chocolate syrup drizzled on top. We highly recommend this restaurant at least once during your visit to Stockholm!

This is my favorite place to go for fika whenever I'm in Gamla Stan! It's a hidden little treasure of a medieval dungeon turned cafe! I wouldn't have found it unless someone had showed me it, it feels like a secret spot! The cafe has loads of charm and cozy nooks to eat their delicous fika and they always have the best music playing! The staff has always been so helpful and willing speak English. The cafe also accepts some different currencies, one time we paid with Swedish Crowns, US dollars, and a few Euros!

Interesting cafe down some dark stairs but turned out to be pleasant. A nice relaxing drink away from the cold.

The Cafe in the hotel was fantastic and convenient and offered a wonderful breakfast. The staff were also very kind. What we didn't love: apartment 5 was on the first floor and was very very loud. We heard delivery trucks coming in as early as 4:30 in the morning every day. We heard Tour groups walking right by our window every day at all hours of the day. If we opened the windows, the noise was very very loud. There was also a clock from the Stockholm church that rang 24 hours a day every 15 minutes. The bed in the apartment was two small Narrow beds pushed together. Unfortunately the shower did not drain and caused a lot of flooding in the bathroom every time we bathed. Anytime we used the bathroom automatic lights would turn on which would light up the entire apartment because there was glass around the bathroom near the ceiling. There was no way to control this. The lights would stay on for five minutes. There was a smell in the apartment that was similar to kitty litter which we were told was likely from the drains in the sink. Lastly a fire alarm went off one morning time is the fire alarm go off at 4:30am---we didn't hear this initially because we had earplugs on. Once we heard it we called the front desk staff and sadly they didn't answer---prompting us to get dressed and run across the street to notify them. One of the perils of wearing earplugs so you can sleep!! If you are assigned to apartment 5 we recommend ear plugs and a sleep mask over your eyes any time you attempt to sleep, flipflops for the shower as you will be soaked in water on the floor, a candle to freshen up the smell in the unit, and fans to try and remove the smell from the unit. This unit may be ideal for someone hard of hearing or deaf. Enjoy!!
