I've been coming to Cahuenga Vet for over a year now. I wish there was an option to make appointments online, but other than that, they are really great. They are always busy, but I don't usually have to wait very long to get seen. My dog has come in for routine check ups, cytopoint, itchy ears, and a CCL surgery. Dr. C (while not warm and fuzzy) is attentive and moves slowly with my anxious girl. He took the time to explain the surgery to me and walked through the results with me. First day at CVH and I really like the team here. Admin staff are professional, kind and efficient. We saw Dr.Lauren and she was excellent, she gave our pup a thorough exam and took great care to review her history and work around her epilepsy. Great energy from the team top to bottom. My cat had been struggling with hyperthyrodism all year. In mid-June, she was seen by a vet who, suspecting that an underlying condition was preventing her from thriving, suggested taking her to an internal medicine specialist if her condition didn't improve within a week. I took her to Cahengua Veterinary since their website indicates an internal medicine specialist on staff. I took her in on a Monday on an emergency appointment basis. The vet I spoke with indicated that she appeared to be suffering from 2 very serious conditions, both at Stage 4. Neither of them had appeared in previous lab rests. I was shocked since I had no idea any of this was happening. I don't remember him specifying what those conditions were. He suggested that I bring her in the next day for an all-day hospitalization where she would be given fluids, sustenance, and an ultrasound. I did that. I met him with that evening. He told me to give her subcutaneous fluids, a steroid, and an antibiotic for a week and bring her back. We weren't home 30 minutes before she completely lost all control of her bladder. At that point her body pretty much shrunk to the size she had been when I took her into the office that morning. She had very little appetite and drank very little water that night or the next morning. It became clear to me that evening that my cat was dying and probably wouldn't survive another week. In fact, she died the next night at home. I believe that I was not fully informed of her prognosis. I do not believe that doctor was truthful about her chance of survival. His care summary is full of possible diagnoses but nothing concrete, this after a full panel of blood tests the previous day and an ultrasound the same day. While I understand that veterinary medicine is not an exact science, I do not believe that I was fully informed of the grave nature of my cat's condition when I took her home and that she was denied the opportunity to die in a clinical setting in the care of a professional. read more

I called at 5:45 trying to get my dogs prescription refilled at a new pharmacy and he desperately needed his meds. I get put on hold for almost ten minutes then disconnected. I try calling back at 5:55 and they already set it to voicemail. Terrible. It says you're open to 6, I get you want to get out as fast as possible but people pets are depending on you to be there when your hours say you will. read more

Scotty my beloved service dog beagle just had two benign tumours removed. A smaller one at the base of his tail and one on his side. Once Dr Christian opened him up, and it was no longer compressed, this growth turned out to be even bigger than a grapefruit. The surgery proved challenging, when he discovered just how deeply attached this fatty deposit was. A lesser surgeon would have struggled to remove it all. And you can find some cheaper vets in LA, but if you want to have priceless peace of mind about your furry friend, this vet practice is the place. Scotty is healing beautifully and now he no longer looks pregnant & is starting to move like a happy show pony. read more

This is a great place. Went for the first time recently because the reviews were so good. It was definitely worth it. Our doctor was super kind, the veterinarians were respectful and informative. I didn't feel like they were trying to scam us out of our money, which is honestly uncommon when it comes to veterinarians in my personal experience. We needed an urgent appointment because overnight our cat developed serious symptoms of feline FIP (which can be fatal, we've lost a cat to it before). So it was a big emergency. Happened in twelve hours. We managed to get an appointment with them the very next day, and our cat was given extensive care for three days. They were a tremendous help. I like this vet and would recommend it! Love the convenient parking outside the vet too. read more

I cannot recommend this place enough. I have been bringing my dog, Bruce, here for the past few years and he has had quite a few health issues--from having epilepsy to needing his gallbladder removed to TPLO surgery and more--and Dr. Croquenois has always been there to provide timely and high quality care. He is very thorough, will take time to answer any questions you have, is very straightforward with whatever treatment options are available, and is great with Bruce (who is always happy to see him when he comes into the room, which hasn't been the case with any other vet). The staff is also very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They all take great care to make sure your pet is comfortable and that you have all of the information you need. They are incredibly transparent with pricing and treatment plans and don't nickel and dime everything. When I first moved up to LA, I put a lot of time into researching different vets to find the best one for my dog and I am 100% certain I made the right choice. The staff is actually compassionate, they listen, they understand... honestly I'm spacing on the doctors name lol but she was so sweet and very informative when I brought Cleo in. I mean I'm sure they aren't perfect all day every day, but I really appreciate them. It's hard to come by a good vet in a big city. The only thing that's troublesome is the parking. There is not much of a parking lot and the street parking isn't always great either..so just give yourself ample time for that :) it's worth it. read more

This is my first time ever leaving a review because it's so hard to find a good vet in LA. I have two dogs, and both have been treated by Dr. Christian for different issues (from lumps on the neck to itchy paws). He's always honest, genuine, and never pushes unnecessary exams or treatments. Compared to other vets we've tried in K-Town, Downtown, and Modern Animal, Dr. Christian so far is the best. As we all know, our pets mean everything to us and Sadly to say December 2025 we had to say goodbye to our beloved too pets within the same week just two weeks before Christmas. As you know how painful that can be, but you would think Cahuenga Veterinary hospital would provide you with the best service to the customer. Sadly to say that the service I receive the first beloved animal that we had to put down was sent to one cremation company and receive Their ashes in a wooden box And a memory Paul print of the animal, which is correct. But the other beloved pet was sent to a different And we did not get the service that we were promised Pick up the remaining ashes at Cahuenga veterinary Hospital location It was partly delivered by Uber to our location residence . And Upsetting issue is knowing that the remains was tossed around in a vehicle and not What and how the remains were treated for delivery will gets to me when I receive the remaining ashes It was not sent in the wooden box instead it was partly place in a cardboard tube like and admit did not mean anything to that and Sadly I did not receive the memory paw print of my poor loving animal. Therefore, as I would At my loving pet for the rest of my life, I have that missing memory paw print, and knowing the ashes are in a cardboard tube and not treated as a special pet in the wooden box hurts very much. We took our Belgian malinois, Kobe, to Dr. Croquenois and let me tell you, out of all the veterinarians I've ever dealt with, Dr. Croquenois is the BEST of the BEST. He was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and careful. Kobe is not the easiest dog to deal with when it comes to strangers, but Dr. Croquenois handled the situation with ease! Cahuenga Vet Hospital is what all other vet hospitals should aspire to be! I took my cats, Ben and Louie, to a few different vets but struggled to find one that I felt 100% comfortable with. I am SO happy I found CVH! Dr. Christian is incredibly kind, patient, and attentive. Being a semi-anxious cat mom, I tend to have a slew of questions at each visit, and Dr. Christian always answers them calmly and professionally. The vet techs are also amazing. They are friendly, warm, and most importantly, so good to all the furry patients. Having visited CVH many times, I got to see the vet techs interact with other furry friends in the lobby, and I know that my babies are in good hands. Also, like Dr. Christian, the vet techs answer all of my questions so so graciously. Another huge green flag I noticed at CVH is that the staff seem to get along very well with each other. hate writing reviews but thought we should share our experience with cahuenga veterinary hospital we have an 8 year old pit mix who developed a rapidly-growing tumorous growth by her vagina. it was hanging lower and lower and in a matter of weeks it burst and became bloody our longstanding and highly reputable veterinarians didn't want to touch it (!), which surprised us, and they didn't have a good referral for us! disappointing we knew enough not to want to fall into the vca maw and spend a million dollars. but we were coming into the christmas-new year's period and we needed to find a new vet/veterinary surgeon who could help us -- immediately we interviewed 2 veterianry surgeons, both of whom seemed good. we found both on-line, from reviews like this we decided on the 2nd vet we met, dr. croquenois at cahuenga veterinary hospital. he was twice the price of the first vet (l.a. veterinary in boyle heights), but we had a bit more confidence in dr. croquenois. can't explain it. it was a guess, really things we liked about cvh -- the staff is uniformly kind, friendly, and conscientious. and intelligent. obviously, this doesn't happen by accident. there is a strong guiding hand here. the facility is clean and lovely and lastly, dr. croquenois seemed intelligent, skilled, and caring as well. the hospital gave us a detailed written estimate (nearly $4,000) and did not play games. they stuck to it. they didn't nickel and dime us. they were generous, when they didn't have to be our dog just had her stitches removed today. she still has her cone on for a few more days. maybe it will all work out, maybe not. but either way, we wish to express our gratitude to dr. croquenois and his veterinary hospital. they gave it their best. they performed our dog's surgery on december 31, instead of chilling their champagne and spooning their caviar. merci beaucoup cvh read more

While the staff appear friendly at first, the interactions often felt insincere or fake and the overall environment was uncomfortable. I would say that most of the staff are trolls and bullies. And they are after on the money that's why they have those big smiles and less concern on the animals, don't be fooled! One concern is the cost of the consultations. I was charged $80 for a very brief 5-minute conversation with the veterinarian. Unfortunately, during this visit, my dog was not even physically examined--nor even touched--to assess the problem. Additionally, I feel the veterinarian may only be equipped to handle mild or routine issues. When my dog's condition worsened despite the expensive prescribed medication, the response I received was essentially, "There's nothing more we can do." It felt like he gave up on my dog rather than exploring further options or referring us to a specialist. I need to beg him that he needed medications. The consultation fee should apply only to new patients--not every visit, especially when you're paying $70-80 each time. The prescribed medication is already expensive as it is. I would not recommend this veterinary hospital. Please prioritize the well-being of the animals above financial gains. Show kindness to the animals, be genuinely kind--and please, to the staff, don't act like a troll and bullies. Veuillez privilégier le bien-être des animaux aux gains financiers. I've been bringing my dog to Cahuenga Vet for about a year, and looking back, I regret not switching sooner. In all that time, the vet (Dr. Christian) has never once given him a real physical exam. Every visit feels rushed -- he barely touches my dog, maybe listens to his chest for a second, but it never feels like he's actually assessing anything or paying close attention. Most recently, I brought my dog in because his poop had become irregular. Once again, the vet didn't do a proper exam. He told me to switch his food cold turkey to a bland diet, prescribed a round of antibiotics and probiotics, and ran a stool test that morning -- which was very expensive. And despite the cost, the results took an entire week to come back. By that point, my dog was already getting worse. Over the next two weeks, I called them repeatedly, begging for help. I even went in twice. Still, no new advice, no actual exam -- just the same response: "He needs to be on hydrolyzed protein." It was getting to the point where he would shake his head at me and say "why haven't you ordered that food yet." I asked multiple times if there were other medications or things we could try, and they had absolutely nothing to suggest. Then his poop turned neon orange (a major red flag for parasites, which I didn't know at the time), and he ended up in the ER with vomiting and diarrhea. I told Cahuenga Vet everything, and they still didn't recommend running more tests or seem concerned at all. They literally had nothing to say. I felt like I was calling begging for help and they just sat on the phone and gave zero suggestions. The final straw? I brought in a fresh sample of his stool, and the receptionist refused to take it -- literally turned it away -- saying "something would have shown up in his poop." Jaw was on the floor. That was the moment I knew they didn't care. I took the same sample to another vet, and they tested it immediately and confirmed he had giardia. Wild. Cahuenga Vet missed all the signs, delayed diagnosis, wasted time, and left me to figure it out on my own while my dog got sicker. They're careless, dismissive, and clearly more interested in pushing products than actually helping animals. Never again. The only positive is that once I called to tell them his new diagnosis they let me return the prescription food. read more

We are so grateful we found Cahuenga Veterinary Hospital. When we moved to LA, we were reviewing the vet reviews and there are seemingly a lot of sketchy veterinarians out there. Luckily, Dr. Croquenois and the team at Cahuenga are NOT sketchy. They keep your pet's welfare in mind, are super-helpful and go above and beyond in terms of explaining treatment plans and the "why" behind what they recommend. They are also very responsive and empathetic. The only minor drawback is that because they're a popular practice, sometimes there can be waits at peak times on weekends - but the lobby is nice and it's worth the wait so that your animals get the best care. read more

Thanks to Dr. Croquenois, Dr. Pedraza, and all the staffs. 1. My corgi was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at her young age of 20 month. Dr. Croquenois was very knowledgeable, professional, and caring. He explained how to understand the results of the xray to us and the severity of the hip dysplasia based on the images. He didn't suggest surgical treatment immediately but oral/injectectable treatment first. 2. After the trial period of oral/injection treatment for about 1 month, we decided to proceed FHO surgery. It was Ms. Sandrine Croquenois who helped me to make this decision. She helped me a lot in many ways too. She's very very kind and caring and I could see she had sympathy for my concerns. Thank you!!! 3. This place have surgeons which is really a big plus. So we didn't need to look for other animal hospitals accompanying surgeons. They explained the surgery procedure to us thoroughly and what to expect after. 4. The FHO surgeries were done by Dr. Pedraza. He is very confident, professional, and caring as well. He always gave us opinions beginning with "If she's my dog ...". He gave simple recommendations for us to guide her recovery. 5. The FHO surgeries went very very well. My dog got the first side done on 4/20/2022 and the other side on 5/21/2022. Now she seems to be fully recovered. She doesn't suffer from the pain anymore and gained all playful energy she used to have. We're happy that we don't need to worry about her limping/whining issues anymore. 6. Dr. Croquenois gave us a follow up call after surgery himself which we found very sweet. What kind of vets do that? We are officially done with vet hopping. 7. I really feel better when I bring my pitty here. You can tell the staff love what they do. They are kind, understanding, and helpful! I wanted to bring in my dog before the fireworks kicked off and they were able to squeeze me, but then had a last min cancelation and called me right back to offer me the spot. He went out of his way- appreciate it! The facilities were recently renovated and is clean & modern. Doctor is great as well. I would like to share my incredible experience at Cahuenga Veterinary. It is, by far, the most wonderful hospital I've ever brought my dear dachshund Lucy to. Lucy had to have a radical surgery to remove numerous mammary tumors. I was terrified for her to have this surgery until I met the amazing Dr Pedraza. He is the most kind and compassionate doctor that I've ever encountered, as well as being a master of complex surgeries. I am so grateful that I found him! Dr. Pedraza also finds time in his hectic schedule to take care of homeless animals in need of his brilliant skills. What an awesome human being he is! Delaney, his wonderful nurse, was so reassuring and gentle with my Lucy. She assured me that she would stay by Lucy's side throughout the surgery, and she did! I knew that Lucy was in the best care ever. I only briefly met Dr. Christian, the owner of this wonderful clinic, but he must be an awesome doctor to bring together all of these incredibly skilled and compassionate doctors and nurses.
