My son was driving down memory lane and he stopped at this place that used to be a bait spot. When I saw "BBQ" I had to try it. I was very glad we did. The prices were good, and the food was tasty. The ribs were very tender and the sauce was delicious. The greens were meaty and hush puppies were crunchy but not dry. The service was excellent. This place is off the beaten path but a must visit dinner spot. After hearing great things about it we finally decided to make the trip and I am so happy we did. This will be a date night spot for us from here on out. I got the Brisket Sliders with Potato Salad (my photo was after eating most of it because I literally could not wait- the phone did not eat first in this case lol). The brisket was delicious and full of flavor. I got the coleslaw on my sliders (they gave me the option to have it with or without) and then I added the Pappy sauce (a tangy mustard type sauce) to them and it was AMAZING. The potato salad was good but I ended up getting too full and took the rest of it to go! My husband and mom tried the Brisket Grilled Cheese which was on their daily special menu and they really enjoyed it. They dipped it in the Pappy sauce as well! Staff were super friendly and attentive to all of the customers. It felt very personal and homey. There was plenty of seating inside and it was well spaced out so you can enjoy your meal with your table and not worry about being too close to others. I highly recommend you try this place! One of my favorite weekend places. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is laid back. It's almost like visiting a friend's house for a meal. The Pappy Sauce is the best combination of South Carolina and North Carolina sauces I've tasted. To top it all off...it's run by good people. I had an issue with my vehicle requiring zip ties. They went out of there way to find me a couple! My boys enjoy when we get to eat here. I only wish they were open more days of the week. read more

This place is 5 out of 5 strong!! After living in Jacksonville for years I can't believe I have never found this gem. If you're a bbq fan you have to check this place out as soon as possible. I got a 3 item sampler brisket, pulled pork and ribs. The sampler come with two sides I got Mac n cheese and potato salad! The brisket melted in you mouth and had amazing flavor! The best brisket I have had so far in my life hands down! The ribs just feel off the bone and was so flavorful with the dry rub on them. The pulled pork was also very good! Not to wet but not dry in bit! Tasted amazing mixes with there homemade "pappy" sauce. Mac n cheese was definitely homemade and tasted amazing. Potato salad had bits of eggs and dill in I it bring out great flavor. And if the food wasn't enough the sweet tea was on point! The thing that made this place worth while is the owners! They are very sweet and kind. Always have a smile on their face and very easy to talk too and always checked in to make sure everything was to your liking! We stopped here and the food was good. But the people who worked there were the most friendliest people ever! They talked to my 2 year old and were so nice to him and gave him crayons and a coloring page. I love Carolina style BBQ so I really liked the sauce they had on the table. We saw the great reviews and were looking for some good local Carolina style BBQ. Unfortunately, we drove out of our way to get there and arrived on Friday at 11am (which is their posted opening time on Yelp and on their front door) but the door was locked and lights were off. We waited around a few minutes just in case, but this strikes me as a place that opens when they want and they didn't want to today. Ok so, we were told "go to Skylight, don't go east for BBQ"... IMO, Caino's takes the cake for Eastern NC BBQ! They are known for the brisket, which is really good BUT, my favorite was the pulled pork with their sauce. Unreal. The pork was so tender and the vinegar based sauce was soaked up perfectly by the meat. I also loved the fall-off-the-bone ribs, subtle and so tasty. We ordered some smashingly great brisket (ask for fatty, you're welcome), off the charts pulled pork (pour that vinegary goodness all over and get extra for sandwiches the next day) and some serviceable ribs (forgettable in comparison to the rest but still very good). By far the best bbq I've had here in NC and really anywhere I've lived in my 37 years. I've lived in many states and I couldn't be happier being here in NC. I was really excited to try BBQ at Caino's. Reviews were great. We arrived at this out of the way establishment and were greeted by a really friendly staff. In fact, the staff was the best part of our visit. Unfortunately, the barbecue just wasn't up to standard. Pork was very dark in color, ribs were very over cooked, collard greens seem to be from a can. Brisket wasn't too bad but pretty dry. The macaroni and cheese was not good at all...the cheese sauce had separated and was chunky and noodles were dry. This is one of those reviews I hate even writing because like I said, everyone was so nice. Previous reviews describe it as so good and maybe we just arrived on a bad day but ours was not good at all. The best BBQ I've ever eaten in my entire life. The brisket especially, melt in your mouth. The baked beans brought me back to my childhood and the coleslaw..... it's not a gooey mess, it's textured and just perfection. When it comes out on wax paper, with paper towels in the center of the table, you know it's going to be a great experience. You'll drive out in the middle of no where, this place is a hidden gem.
