U-Haul Moving & Storage at Tulane

It's Moving Day. Again…read more Three kids. Moving to three cities. Across the country. In one month. Boxes. Boxes....and more boxes. Moving furniture, appliances and boxes filled with memories from New Orleans to Baton Rouge and Houston. Overall a very good experience at this U-Haul at Tulane. Reserved a trailer and pads. They were so helpful, but forgot the pads. We called to let them know. They added that to our rental agreement. Not sure of the drop off location. The one they assigned to us in Houston was actually a thirty minute drive from our home, so we asked them to leave the return address blank when we rented the trailer (which they did). No issues until the return. They gave us a hard time about the missing pads and the drop off location. Wanted to charge us extra, even though we paid for services that we did not receive. Sorted it out, sort of, eventually. Still, a good experience moving from point A to B to C.

Will never use this location again. TLDR: always use the app, and give yourself at least 30 mins…read moreextra to do it, because it doesn't work. 2nd update: it took me about 12 calls and over a week to get my refund approved. Looking back, it appears that they took the equipment off the truck and then officially checked in my truck as "returned" over 4 hours after I actually returned it. When speaking with corporate customer service, they advised the only way to avoid this and to cover my *** is to use self-check in and out on their nonworking website. According to uhaul themselves, their employees can't be trusted. Awesome. They charged me $168 today for "missing equipment" but will not refund me today because the manager is out. They let you submit photos of the truck before you take it out but not when you get back. They won't do a walkthrough with you to confirm equipment return so there's no way to prove that you returned the equipment. I feel like someone is trying to steal from me. Hopefully I get my refund tomorrow as promised. UPDATE: did not get a refund because whoever I talked to yesterday lied when they said a manager would be in today, because apparently managers do not come in on Sundays. So I have to call again for Ms. Shay tomorrow, because nobody left a note, they just blew me off. The guy who stands around with the hat on not behind the counter is angry all the time for no reason. He expects you to know how everything works without anybody telling you. I waited in line at the counter to check in because the Uhaul app doesn't work. DO NOT attempt to rent a truck outside of office hours, it will not work. First, the app couldn't find my reservation. Then when it did, it wouldn't load the next page. Then, when it did, it wouldn't let me access my phones camera to take the required photos. When I got to the counter the lady gently reminded me, you know you can check in on the app right? No ma'am, I cannot. There weren't enough staff earlier in the morning so there was a bit of a line and when we got to the counter they were trying to help 3 people at once instead of just focusing on who ever was at the counter and it wasn't working out great. I don't recommend you rent here, but If you rent from here, please allot 30 minutes for pickup.

I will preface this review by stating that up until today, 01 OCT 2020, I had never set foot inside…read moreof a Tractor Supply Company (TSC) store. In fact, I don 't even own a tractor. With that being said, I did however, purchase a new pickup truck this year and low and behold, it's almost time for my first oil change. My truck uses 8 quarts of 0W-20 full synthetic oil. After a little research, I opted to use Shell Rotella gas truck full synthetic oil. Shell Rotella is a popular engine oil for all makes and models of diesels (and tractors), so although this gas truck oil is "fairly" new, I wanted to use it, as the reviews for it are stellar. A quick internet search of the Metro New Orleans area revealed that TSC was one of the only places that had the 0W-20 jugs in stock. I called TSC and was greeted pleasantly on the phone by employee Jennifer. I needed two five-quart jugs and she advised that she only had 2 left, but would hold them at the counter until I got there. 45 minutes later I arrived at the store and was solemnly greeted as I walked through the doors. I saw my "reserved" oil at the cashier's booth and purchased it at a price was $3.00 cheaper (for each jug) than anywhere else, including Amazon. I didn't have time to browse the store, but there is a lot of eye candy in there. I'll be back soon.

Ridiculous and frustrating! Management is failing big here---or the entire staff is just full of crap! I know it's hot outside but damn.
