What a lovely little specialty bakery with a friendly staff. My friend found them and we planned a trip for the following Saturday. (They're only open Fridays and Saturdays.) Since the bakery *may* sell out, we planned to arrive right at opening. There were a few people there already when we arrived but after they left the staff immediately helped us. They were very helpful, explaining the current offerings, pricing, and that each "individual" portion contains two shots of alcohol. Note: The "individual" portions are still quite large and are easily shareable. These are $20/each and the full cakes are $75. (I think that's what she said for the large.) My friend bought three and I got two: Red velvet cheesecake and Butter pecan cake. I haven't tried the BP yet but the RV was deelish!!! Very creamy, smooth, and an extra thick Graham cracker crust! I never did :( But one random day, a friend of ours brought us a mini cake from Cake Buzz called the Southern Situation. It was a cake with Hennessey and Butterscotch Schnapps. It was soooooo delicious! I was sad that it was a mini size because I wanted more. Even my hubby liked it! I knew I needed to get this for his birthday. So I ordered a medium-size cake which is 7-inches. I ordered and paid ($75) over the phone with no problems. When I picked it up, it was ready, and I was in and out. Both the ladies there were very friendly and nice. Once it was time to eat the cake, everyone enjoyed it, and they all asked where it was from. Yay! FYI: Parking can be rough. So I've written a review on the old Cake Buzz yelp page (when Sean used to sell his cakes out of a pizza joint *forgot the name* on the corner or Inglewood and Marine), but not on this page yet. Let me first say, I am proud of Sean's success. I've been ordering cakes from him for YEARS, back when he used to sell them out of his car, literally. I would meet him around the downtown Long Beach shipyard area to pick up my cakes. Now he has his own shop and his business is doing well! Now let's talk about these alcohol-infused cakes...Y'all!!!! Just get over to that shop and buy a cake (or two). I've tried many flavors and each one are distinctively delicious. What you see (read on the cake label) is exactly what you get ( taste). The Lemon Drop Martini, for example- you will actually taste a lemony flavor, the ciroc vodka and all the other alcohols. All of the cakes are super moist, sweet and did I mention that you can actually taste the alcohol lol. These cakes are between $16-18, and are well worth it! This bakery is my husband's absolute favorite bakery ever. He loves alcohol and he loves baked goods, and Cake Buzz has truly found a wonderful way to marry his two favorite indulgences. Every single time he talks about this place, he raves about it with such passion and always encourages his friends to check it out. I feel like he dreams about it because he loves it so much! Every cake he's tried here has been amazing, but I think his favorite is Heaven. His friends also love every flavor they've tried from here, too! We ordered a large peach cobbler for a friend's birthday once, but we really think the individual cakes reign supreme over anything they offer! They accept credit card and have easy street parking on the street out front and nearby. They have a check-in offer for 10% off one cake, but they don't always honor it. Tried out this cake spot and it was super cute! I had a sweet tooth all day and was looking for a cake/ice cream combination. These canes are made with liquor and abs attendees offered samples right away. Shop is small, but very bright and airy. I got to sample purple rain and there red velvet. Both were moist and had a nice flavor. I settled on the lemon cake and when applying the yelp first time discount the cake cost about $16. I bought a can of whipped cream on the way home and have been enjoying little pieces for the last few days. I keep it in the refrigerator. I would say 1 cake (they are mini - about the size of a cinnabon) could feed at least three people and they all have lots of icing. read more

I initially found this place on Facebook because my friends tagged me in a post. I immediately thought "I need to try this. I love liquor in my cakes so I'm curious about it!" When I placed my first order with Cake Buzz, it was for my best friend's birthday. I ordered the AMAZING AND DELICIOUS southern situation. I was nervous at first because I was not too sure how everyone would react to the cake. After the first bite, everyone was hooked. The flavor and the alcohol that was mixed inside was perfect. This cake was a major hit. A couple months later, I decided to get a smaller version for my sister in law. She absolutely loved the cake. All I can honestly say is the cakes here are so worth it and you get a good buzz *wink wink* What I was told and I will say it too so everyone has a heads up, try to call and order a couple weeks in advance. Everything about this place appears to scream 5 stars.... the friendliness of the owners, the quality of the cakes, the amount of booze clearly evident, yet you only see 3 stars handed out in this review. Well, there's one reason for the 3 instead of 5 stars... for a SMALL cake, which is about 3.5 - 4 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches tall and virtually no decoration other than a pool of icing, they cost $17.00 EACH. I rarely bat an eyelash over prices, especially if it's food...but $17?? Oh, and if you want one of their "large" cakes, which is maybe 12 inches in diameter (I could be wrong about the actual size on the large), THOSE cost $75.00. Come on. That's ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, Cake Buzz makes a really good cake, and there definitely is a decent amount of alcohol in them, but for me, I found the booze to overpower the other flavors and cause it to be a bit stronger than I liked. I just don't need to have THAT much booze in a small cake. Nor do I think the amount of alcohol in each cake is worth $17. I just don't. Yet, I was willing to pay the $17 several times over (to try different flavors), so shame on me for doing that..... but I expected a lot more for the price I had to pay. I really enjoyed speaking with the owner and her daughter. They were very sweet and accommodating, and it was fun to taste some of their flavors, but now that I've experienced their cakes, the novelty has warn off...... and so has my buzz. read more

In the past month, my family has been 3x. I have tried at least 8 different cakes. Cadillac Margarita, Lemon Drop Martini (cake and cheesecake), and Heaven reign supreme. The cakes are moist and loaded with flavor. The cream cheese icing is to die for; they are very generous with it. I'm not a heavy drinker so to me the alcohol is strong, but it's not over powering. I have given several away as gifts. I tell them don't eat and drive. Positive feedback always!!! I can eat on a slice of the cake for 2-3 days, so it's worth the $20. The alcohol is milder in the cheesecake; it's good, but the cakes are better!!!! Glad I found this gem. read more

They artfully blend Godiva Caramel Liqueur, Baileys, Banana Liqueur, Vodka Espresso, and Tres Leches on this one. I always love them. The owners are great and everything they bake is delicious. My latest enjoyment was Butter Pecan and the Red Velvet. They call me the Heaven girl, because it's been my favorite for a few years.
