I've been wanting to try this place for a while. It located in a food court the grocery store. I thought that was pretty cool. It's nice to be able to walk and that that's plenty of food options to go with the matcha. It was so hot outside, so I was glad to have something to help me cool down. I got the matcha latte with oatmlk and the matcha hojicha mixed soft serve. The matcha hit the spot, though the latte was a bit grainy, not sure if that was because of the oat milk or the actual matcha. I enjoyed the soft serve. It's pretty strong though and to me was a bit bitter, but that could have been the hojicha. Plenty of open seating to chose from to enjoy the treat and have a nice hang out.
3.5 stars I only got one item: Matcha Float ($9.20). This is definitely on the pricier side. I think it's safe to say that there can be too much of a good thing because matcha was rich and a little too much for me. The powder was grainier than I'd like. It's a decent quality matcha! Just too much for me. I guess I should have stuck with a latte.

Pretty much how it is at any Japanese market food court if you've been.
Everything is so good here!!! If you are looking for authentic matcha, this is the place! They have drinks to desserts! I wish there was a location in Northern CA! The next time I am in town, I need to come back and try other items at this store. I hope to come back again someday! Service was excellent!
If you're into desserts that aren't too sweet, the matcha soft serve here is perfect for you. The matcha soft serve itself was creamy and smooth. The matcha flavor was bitter, but in a good way. It was earthy and not too weak which I liked. It was also super aesthetic with the chocolate square which provided a nice and sweet contrast to the bitter matcha. Definitely a high quality dessert. This spot is located inside the Mitsuwa marketplace food court area with parking outside shared with the Del Amo mall. It can get pretty packed in the area. I would get the soft serve here again, but I am a bit skeptical about getting the drinks here. That's because the matcha drinks look super diluted based on the color.

Yamato absolutely deserves five stars. This place is a gem, and the matcha alone is worth the visit. Hands down the best matcha I have ever had. It is rich, smooth, perfectly balanced, and tastes incredibly high quality without being bitter or overly sweet. Everything feels thoughtfully prepared and authentic, and the atmosphere is calm and inviting. You can really tell care goes into what they serve, especially when it comes to their matcha. If you love matcha or are even just curious about trying a truly excellent one, Yamato is a must visit. I will absolutely be coming back just for that matcha alone.

If you're looking for good quality, ceremonial-grade matcha goodies, Yamari Matcha is one of our go-tos. Tamari's service staff is friendly, youthful and customer-focused. An order and take-away sharing the large food court seating allows you to add this and that to your meal from many different sources, including Mitsuwa Market itself. Yamari has some purest form of matcha soft-serve of the many different places in So Cal, and has less sweetness than most others allowing the high-grade matcha powder used to shine through, even in the Premium parfaits. Wish they had a take home pint available, but until then it's a great option inside this varied food court. And... parking is often a waiting match at this end of the mall.

Yamari is one of those places we will always stop by whenever we're in the area. It's become a must for us. The matcha here is freshly whisked and consistently excellent. You can taste the care and technique in every cup--nothing rushed, nothing diluted. This is matcha (and hojicha) for people who genuinely enjoy nuance, depth, and the natural flavor of tea. It's unsweetened and unapologetically so, which we really appreciate. If you're used to overly sweetened drinks, this may not be for you--but if you love true tea character, this place delivers. Consistency is another big reason we keep coming back. Every visit tastes just as good as the last, which says a lot. The ambiance is simple but charming. It feels like a small Japanese stall tucked inside a supermarket--casual, cozy, and authentic. You're still very much in a market setting, but that's part of the appeal and adds to the experience rather than taking away from it. Yamari is a gem for anyone who values well-made, traditional matcha and hojicha. No frills, no excessive sweetness--just excellent tea done right.

Ice Cream 5/5 Yum!!! I had their matcha/hojica soft serve and loved every part of it. Tea Master in Little Tokyo still wins my heart when it comes to matcha ice cream since theirs is really creamy. However, this is one of the best hojicha soft serves out there. Service 5/5 Standard, nothing special. Ambiance 4/5 Located inside Mitsuwa. It was a toss up between getting the matcha soft serve or matcha drink. I had a feeling the soft serve would be the better option but since we were about to leave, a drink was more convenient. I heard Yamari had great matcha so I had high hopes. The matcha latte I got was average- sure, not powdery but not super smooth. It was not overly sweet, maintained some of the matcha bitterness so that was nice. But for what it was and the price, I didn't feel it was worth it because it wasn't too far off from what I could make at home. I was disappointed with the drink. Fret not, I am still willing to come back to try the soft serve one day.. and what's the difference between the matcha latte and matcha au lait? read more

This is Matcha! Comparing Yamari to all the other places I've orderd my Matcha at, I'm so much more satisfied with the quality here than anywhere else. The service was okay. The workers were wearing masks so it was hard to read their expressions. The person who took my order did make eye contact. There are plenty of places to sit though it does get loud because the space is open to the Mitsuwa grocery store and all the other food vendors. read more

I've been to Mitsuwa countless times and always walked by Yamari, but this time I finally decided to give them a try. I decided to order the mixed parfait, which comes with half matcha and half vanilla soft serve, shiramata dango, bean paste, and has a base of matcha jelly along with the chocolate piece for decor. The dessert was honestly very refreshing, and the matcha flavor is really pleasant, definitely reminiscent of that you can get in Kyoto. I really enjoyed how the matcha was sweetened by the vanilla soft serve (which was amazing in its own right), and the jelly was not too strong either. Definitely recommend you give them a try if you visit! read more
Love at first bite!! There was hardly any line when I went and the order became available quickly. The soft serve was just what I was looking for. With a strong punch of uji matcha and something not too sweet. It nailed it 100/100! The shop also offers matcha drinks and it's conveniently located right within Mitsuwa. You can find the shop right next to J Sweet within the food court. There's ample seats inside and outside albeit it can be very crowded and loud. Parking is free and Amex accepted too. As always, I'm on the hunt for the best matcha, and I stumbled upon this spot serving soft serve! I ordered the matcha soft serve on an artisanal dark chocolate cone (the cone was perfectly crispy and so delicious). My partner went for the Premium Matcha Soft Serve, which came beautifully topped with two shiratamas (Japanese glutinous rice dumplings) and a scoop of azuki (sweet red bean paste). I've heard nothing but good things about Yamari Matcha, so when I happened to be in the area, I had to give it a try and it did not disappoint! There was no line when I went, which was a pleasant surprise. My friends and I ordered a matcha latte and a matcha parfait. I don't remember exactly which drinks they got, but I took a sip of each and they were so good. You could really taste the quality of the matcha earthy, rich, and not overly sweet. The matcha parfait was the highlight for me. I'd honestly give it a 9/10! It had just the right balance of flavors and textures, and the red bean paste paired perfectly with the matcha. The only bummer was that they were out of jelly, so we didn't get to try it with the full topping experience. Overall, if I'm near a Yamari again, I'm definitely coming back especially for the ice cream! read more
If you love matcha, the matcha here is simply delicious. Whenever I'm the area, I have to make a point to stop here. They have a variety of matcha products - not just drinks. Located within the Mitsuwa food court. Matcha items here are consistently delicious! Haven't had a negative experience here yet! I always make sure to stop by here whenever I'm at the Del Amo Mall. There's convenient parking in the lot right outside, but that lot frequently gets packed. Started avoiding that lot by parking in the North parking structure close to Levi's. read more

Every time I'm in the area I visit this spot. This place has some of the best matcha in socal. It's located in the Mitsuwa in Del Amo Mall. I'd only recommend this place to people who enjoy strong matcha and have a good caffeine tolerance. I've tried the matcha einspanner, latte, matcha latte float, and soft serve. If you love matcha, you need to try Yamari out. Located inside Mitsuwa's food court. However, it was quite packed on a Saturday afternoon. It's better as a grab and go instead of trying to fight the weekend crowd to find a seat. Matcha Soft Serve - very strong, quite bitter with a hint of sweetness. Texture is smooth and creamy still. Whenever I am at the mall and am craving a matcha latte, I know right where to go! I appreciate how the matcha is whisked as well. I usually like to stop by for ice cream and order the swirl whenever I am craving a sweet treat. I am unsure if Yamari no longer offers the matcha and hojicha swirl anymore because I really enjoyed it! I received a matcha and vanilla swirl and unfortunately, the matcha tasted a little too bitter and it lingered. The syrup was very bitter as well. I might skip out on the soft serve next time but I'll definitely be ordering a latte again! read more

I've tried this place several times and given it way too many chances. Every drink I've had here has been disgusting - the matcha doesn't even taste properly bitter and when getting a sweet drink, there's little to no flavor and tastes watered down. I tried the mango matcha yesterday and it felt like the texture of vomit. The matcha, mango, and milk mix were too thick and the flavor of the mango was not fresh, it tasted artificial. The service is fine, I don't really expect much out of 2 college kids making a matcha latte to be acting like an overbearing Trader Joe's cashier. I won't be coming back here again, nothings wrong with the service and staff, it's just the actual products taste like dookie. read more

Food: this is the most authentic matcha I've ever tasted, not just for icecream but like any matcha! It's so strong, so green, so fragrant. Don't expect a sweet artificial flavor matcha flavor, this stuff is really good but also has the signature bitterness, which I absolutely love. I swear this is packed with caffeine from so much tea leaves, I'm usually sensitive to caffeine and wasn't able to sleep at night after eating the whole cup haha Price: matcha parfait is about $10, soft serve is about $7, which are on the pricier side, but well worth the money Ambiance: located inside the food court of new Mitsuwa location in Delamo, there are a lot of open tables/seats you can pick from. Good to come with friends for casual hangouts, the store itself is small hole in the wall, cute and clean, traditional Japanese vibes Service: great, very polite, mostly Japanese cashiers and workers, no issues at all paying and getting my dessert here Parking: since it's located inside a big grocery store, it comes with big free parking right outside. Although it can get crowded, haven't had a problem finding a spot within 5 minute walk. read more
