We got an assortment of spring cupcakes for the office and they were a HIT! I am so grateful for how kind and sweet Devin was when helping me pick out flavors-- they even reminded me to try and get a gluten free option which I almost forgot to do! All cupcakes were deliciously filled with flavor, not too sweet, and felt like eating a luxury for a great price! Their buttercream is divine. The texture is so luciously buttery without feeling fake. You can tell they use quality ingredients. The shops itself is super easy to get to on the el or the bus. I had no trouble carrying everything to work on my own in their packaging (although my coworker dropped the bag bringing them upstairs...) but everything stayed put together and of course the flavor was not hurt at all! This shop has amazing, extended hours and a really cute interior. This review is regarding service only but unfortunately still warrants the 1 star. We came on Friday Mar 21 right before closing. We were reminded of that by one of the staff members when she said "just so you know we close in 3 minutes." This was rudely conveyed to us, not in a "making us aware" of the situation way, but more in we clearly interrupted cleaning before closing way. Understood. We still stayed because we like the desserts. As we were deciding on 2 or 3 of red velvet cupcakes she turned to help someone else. Fine you're closing, we get it. But then she got our order and we were outside by 8:59pm. The store closes at 9. In a service business, sometimes later, like 9:04pm. It sucks, but that's how it goes. Speaking from experience. Not an excuse to be mean or crass. You represent a business that pays you a salary. Some days are harder than others, but you can't mistreat paying customers who spend $40+ and are going to make a fast order, respecting the fact you're closing. When we got outside we opened the box to give a friend his cupcake we noticed the order was wrong. My wife knocked because the door was locked (it's about 9:04 now at the latest) and when the worker saw her, she went back to cleaning. She knocked harder and to be let in. The other staff member was nicer and gave us the right cupcakes. The incorrect ones were placed back in the cupcake case. The mistake on the order was made 100% by the frustration of the staff member having to work at 8:58pm, 2 minutes before closing. Because there were 3 of us there and heard the order. The frustrated employee did not have time to rectify her mistake because she was too busy trying to leave. I hate leaving reviews like this but it was one of the worst service experiences in recent memory. The dessert is great, but we can never come back because of this experience. If leaving early is so important that you are unable to provide quality service, then close at an earlier hour than the one advertised online. read more

Well, decided to stop in and grab some gluten free desserts for a baby shower for ironically a police officer. Couldn't tell you how they tasted because we didn't try them, just look at how we received them. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and that's great, but it was very awkward to walk into this establishment with a Police Officer and see this sign while trying to get some desserts. An attempt was made to engage and ask about their specific concern with police, but couldn't get a word from the counter person. Although, that's a businesses right to post their opinion, be able to have convo about it or flat out say you won't serve us instead of us getting this. Before anyone thinks the box dropped, or slid in the vehicle, it didn't. This was what we were given, which made us skeptical to even eat. Such a shame. I got my cake here last year for my birthday. I liked it so much, I decided to get it from here again for my 56th. You can order an advanced custom one ahead of time online. I'm not one for cheesecakes but for some reason their Chocolate Chip Cheesecake was calling me. If you want 'Happy Birthday' written on the cake they will happily do it for you. Lots of birthday candles, cards and merch on display for sale as well. I love how bright and colorful the shop is. Their lattes are amazing here. Price was on par with other bakery cookies I've had. Unfortunately, for me, the croissant was a miss. The croissant itself had a beautiful flaky texture and light fluffy inside, and the za'atar flavor was excellent. However, I hadn't realized that the croissant was filled with a vegan cream cheese and I really could have done without that. There was so much of it and it was an odd texture combination with what you'd expect with a croissant. I think it would have been great maybe laminated into the layers of dough, but as a mass in the middle of the pastry it was a miss for me. Less cream cheese would probably make this cheaper too...I didn't realize it was a +$9 croissant (including tax) until it had already been packed for me. If I'd actually paid attention to the price label I would have skipped it, but that's of course on me! read more
