First off, EVERYTHING they make is amazing. Crumb buns, doughnuts, scones, muffins, cupcakes. You name it, they can do it well. But this review is about the professionalism of the business and a testament to their customer service. So I order a sheet cake over the phone and I am told that I need to come in and leave a deposit the next day to secure the order- totally understandable. Well, in the craziness of planning and preparing for my event, I forget to stop by and give them my down payment and I totally forget until the morning of my event. When it hits me that I forgot to secure my order, I call them early on a Sunday morning in a panic. The manager gets on the phone and after retrieving my order tells me that he spoke to the baker and that they baked the cake but didn't assemble the cake , in the hopes I would call or come by the store. He asks me to give them a little while to assemble it. I drive down , pay them and thank them profusely for covering my screw up and not ruining my party by not having a cake. As they boxed me up and got me out of the store -quickly, they courteously reminded me that they really need a deposit next time to guarantee my cake is done right and on time. I get it, that won't happen again but I can't thank you enough for covering my absent mindedness. PS- The cake was awesome as usual. Great bakers, staff, management and products. I have gotten many cakes from here and have yet to be truly disappointed. On my last trip I got an apple horseshoe cake for my fiance's mother. I noticed Lobster Tails in the case and I wanted to get one until I was informed that it was cannoli cream inside. I do not like cannoli cream so I decided to pass, however the owner was nice enough to offer me a Lobster Tail to taste their cream. I must say I am hooked now. A very cute bakery, one I would want to come back to. The bakery has a decent location, there is parking on the residential streets nearby. The selection is extremely diverse, filled with cakes, cookies, assorted pastries, and pies, as well as some creative options. Everything is reasonably priced. The ambiance is slightly less modern, with wooden walls. The two items we tried needed a little more sweetness, so it may apply to their other items. We sample their freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Although the were slightly less sweet, they were strong cookies. They were thin, quite large, irregularly round (which means that they are homemade), and very tasty. We ordered an apple ring, which was very creative. Again, it lacked sweetness. But it was huge, the apples were yummy, and the crust was flaky. We enjoyed these two items and we would definitely trek back to eat here again. read more

Everything is fresh here. My husband, mother and I especially love the fruit tart. My inlaws love the walnut kringle (I think that's what it's called). Excellent Cake Rings! Have only been to the actual bakery once, but have gotten many cake rings for several of our company parties. We have had them at least 4 or 5 times over the past few months and they are always delicious. Availability: They are CLOSED on Mondays and Tuesdays. Not many people realize this and find out after they've gone and it's not opened. Happened to me when I hadn't checked first so be warned so you don't waste your time. Being a bakery, weekends are busy so they probably take their time off during the week. Not going to lie, selfishly, its annoying that they are closed during the week but also understandable. They deserve time off too. The Bakery: The bakery itself isn't big but it has a decent selection of items; cookies, pastries, donuts, cakes, etc...I personally went there about a month ago for a party and they were open right at 6. It wasn't too busy so made it easy to get in and out quickly. Everything is in plain view and makes for an easy selection process. They don't always have certain things out at certain times during the day so I'm not sure if its a once it goes, its gone, kind of routine. I had went in for the cake rings specifically and they had about 12-15 to choose from. Of those, there were about 3-4 different actual kinds of flavors out. I had asked if they had another one of one kind and they told me, no, its whatever is out. So I'm not sure how it really works but It was still fine. We took our cakes back to the office and they were delicious, as always. There really isn't a bad flavor. Even things I don't personally like, like coconut or cheese, I will eat from here. Service: When I went it was early so wasn't busy. They had about 2-3 people working up front. I think that was sufficient. The girl who helped me was very sweet and quick, but not in a rushed kind of way...if that makes sense. Efficient. Prices: I have only tried a few things from here, the cake rings and the donuts but I can say that they are truly priced well. A cake ring is only like $10 for handmade, fresh. You can get a store bought one for slightly cheaper but not as good and less variety for sure. Go with the real thing. That is a great deal if you ask me. And the donuts, they are a tad more expensive that donuts at Dunkin and obviously much better!. I was actually shocked because I thought for sure as a bakery, they would over price, but they didn't. Great selling point for sure. As for other items, I'm not sure of the prices but Id assume they are on par as well. Parking: There is no parking for the bakery. Its quite annoying. You can pull up front and hope not to get a ticket, which most do, or you can park across the street in one of like 6 spots if they are even available. My family and I have been getting all types of goods from here since a relative told us about it years ago. If you want to get your loved one a birthday cake or any kind of cake, check this place out. If you like red velvet, they got that here. I get it every year, it's not super sweet nor is it plain. The atmosphere there is vintage(?), they have these old fans, phones and cash registers there that give it that vibe that they're old school and friendly. Red Velvet is our favorite and I must say there is a bakery in Brooklyn I used to go to has nothing on Cake Chef Bakery's Red Velvet Cake. The people that work there are very nice!!!
