Do not get the Rum baba ones unless you like feeling like you are eating spoiled sheep milk and biting off wax from a candle or something all at the same time. I also got the strawberry biscuit cake and my sister liked it. However, the guy working also didn't give me even 30 seconds to answer him what size of a box I am getting, and just screamed the options at me again. This was my first and last time there. I walked in and one of the girls was so nice and the other could not have been nastier. I walked in said hi can I please have an Italian bread and the girl said she was helping "him", I said who because there was nobody else in the store not knowing there was someone loading there car outside with boxes from the bakery. Immediately the other girl(the really nice one) came right over like she was embarrassed and said that she would help me. I was so annoyed with the girl who was being nasty that I mistakenly took a small box of cookies that was in front of me as mine. So I will be returning one more time to pay for the small box cookies. But that will be the last time. I've never heard one good or bad word about the place so I'm assuming it is very average at best, so I don't think I will be missing much. Back over the bridge to Villa Bate!! read more

Bakery is delicious! You can find so much here and it all looks so good. Service and workers are mostly nice too. I wish the closing time was later though as it closes early. One time they hurried my family out cause we brought our dog in after not seeing the sign and i had to facetime and it was annoying. Other than that, nice shop. read more

Given that this place is the only bakery in the area I think it's okay, not terrible but not great. Their pastries are what you expect. Nothing special. Their bread is good. Staff is great. Given the changes in the island maybe management should consider doing some exclusives sort of pastries or something trendy. But keeping true to italian pastries is cool, too. read more

The iced coffee during the week here left me speechless. The smoothest most delicious coffee I've had in a very long time. A gentleman was working those days that I went (3 times during the week) and I was never disappointed. Just went today (Saturday) and there were two very young girls managing the store who sold me terrible coffee and they had trouble making change as they seemed incredibly confused and one was using her fingers to count. I think consistency is key when you have an establishment. I threw the coffee away the moment I stepped outside. Will only get coffee when mister Gilberto is there. The muffins are good. Living in Staten Island is hard to catch a great bakery well I'm a Lucky lady I had the original OG Bakery from Brooklyn in my neighborhood. Fresh everything great for cakes cookies pies an nice little snack. I go a lot ESP on Sunday's for their fresh Italian bread. It comes out so warm an soft it's like butter melting in your mouth. Love the cute girls their working they always know what I want an take care of me right away. They are open on holidays. No parking so everyone plus myself just parks in front which is iffy bc it's a main rode on bay street. The staff is pretty fast so it's not a long wait. Definitely a great go to bakery in Staten Island an Brooklyn. read more

This bakery has been here for a few years now. Great little place. It always smells great when you go in. Very clean also. Their semolina bread is excellent. I also have gotten their cheese cakes and cookies. Fresh filled cannoli on the spot as well. I believe they have Italian ices in the summer time but haven't tried. Cute little selection of cakes. This morning I stopped in to the main shop on Bay St hoping to purchase one of their Lobster Tail(?) pastries. I had seen some that were purchased by a neighbor while visiting, I'd seen and had them before at other bakeries. But never had seen them topped with a layer of chocolate. I had gone to the Hyatt location to get one but was told they only have them at the main store. So, I went today, Saturday about 11:30am. The very nice and very pleasant young lady behind the counter unfortunately informed me that there were none! She told me they would probably have some later this afternoon? Like myself most people I think like to get all their Saturday errands done Saturday morning so they can spend the rest of the day relaxing. Which was exactly my plan and this was my last stop on my errands. Makes no sense why you wouldn't have what seems like one of your most popular items until later in the day, especially a Saturday. But oh well. So instead I decided to not waste the trip and got a selection of individual pastries (4) a small strawberry shortcake, a large red velvet, a modified cannoli (sort of a pastry roll filled with cannoli cream w/candied cherry on top) and an eclair. Well, they can forget about me coming back for the Lobster pastry! The two cakes were AWFUL. So dry and hardened with the fillings/icings having the consistency of putty. I don't know how any of these reviews can use the word "fresh". These pastries had to be several days old at the very least. The only way I can describe the taste of the cannoli pasties... is that I took a bite and immediately spit it out! Maybe the whole cakes are much fresher, having not been cut into slices. But quite frankly having a customer feel cheated and sold old food is doesn't seem like a reputation a business would want to send? The shortcake (strawberry jam filling tasted like it had sort of weird cinnamon-pepper taste and not at all sweet. I tasted the same weird thing in the red and green decorative icing on top of both the cakes. Which I also spit out. What you would think is cream cheese icing on the red velvet had no flavor whatsoever. The only item of the four that I found halfway decent was the eclair which I did finish. But I do have the feeling it was, as well, a few too many days old. So basically essentially I paid $16 for a little 4in long eclair (to explain why I feel ripped off!) Sooo Sugar, butter, cream cheese, strawberry jam, vanilla etc are what cakes and pastries are made of ...you can almost taste those flavors just reading the words... Not one of those flavors exist in these in any of these. Not one. What an absolute utter disappointment! This bakery should be ashamed for selling this! Just now..sitting here as I type this... I do not know if it's just the anger... but I'm literally having stomach pains and a little nauseous. Like I might throw up.....yeah I'm gonna throw up. I'm gonna go throw up now. I enjoy Rispoli. It's a great neighborhood fresh baked bakery. I've ordered birthday cakes and even tried some of their sugar free turnovers. Each was delicious in its own way. Did I forget to mention their fresh baked pumpernickel bread which until recently was difficult to locate. read more

Driving by and decided to stop and go in. Got a red velvet cake, linzer tart and Italian bread. The cake and linzer tart were delicious! Cake was moist, just enough icing. Linzer tart was fresh with good amount of filling. The Italian bread was okay, I got to the store late,5 pm, only a few loaves left (gave the bakery the benefit of the doubt). Couldn't beat the price, $25 for cake, 2 tarts and a loaf of bread. Will go earlier and try the bread again. read more

I went in today for a cake wasn't sure what I wanted but something chocolate. The man behind the counter was very helpful and explained the different chocolate cakes he had. I chose the chocolate mousse cake it was pretty nice size. I didn't bother asking the price but figured it was going to cost me a pretty penny. Well to my surprise it was less then $20.00, $19.00 to be exact. Now I have to say it was delicious. I highly recommend this bakery great helpful staff, delicious food and very reasonable prices. I only get the almond cookies in here. That's the only product worth a star in the shop. The woman helping me looked like she had better things to do than wait for me to glance at the pastries. So I got a red velvet and a chocolate pastry piece. Brought it home and my god, all you could taste was salt and crisco in the frosting. Not only that, it crumbled into little pieces and had no flavor or moisture in it either. Terrible pastries and terrible help. If you have to get a pastry from here, just get the almond cookies and that is all. Good luck getting help from or a crack of a smile from the stone faced woman too. I regret all the money I've spent here. I gave them so many chances. First off,, customer service sucks. You are not greeted at all and the worker just stares at you, with a frown no less, unless you speak up. Terrible at making customers feel welcome. Basically, their pastries are always old and crusting. The coffee is blah and I've ordered hot chocolate from them before and I literally watched the girl working there make it- SHE OPENED A PACKET OF SWISS MISS and poured boiled water on it.
