If I could give zero stars I would! I went to the bakery Yesterday, the display was full of desserts, the baker was in the back and some RUDE employee behind the counter. I walk in and they're both just staring at me, the guy behind the counter walks away, leaving me standing there. The guy in the back finally comes to help me and I tell him I'd like to order a cake he said sorry the baker is on vacation. REALLY??? It's a BAKERY, and they clearly had baked goods in the display. Worst cake ever! I went to this place because I wanted eggless cake. I had not ordered in. But this was last minute, so I just picked up some pastries. I got eggless pineapple cake and eggless black forest cake. This was for my husband's b'day. It was a total disappointment. We had a great evening celebrating his b'day. But the cake just ruined it. They are NOT giving Fresh Foods. I bought the cake couple of Weeks back; it is not Fresh; my Son and myself started Vomitings. Last week When I went back again to buy Dil pasand, Cake and Rasmalai. I informed my experience and asked them to give fresh one. They Asserted that it is Fresh. This time Cake is good but Dil Pasand is not good and Rasmalai is spoiled. Complete family is down with Stomach ache when we ate Dil Pasand. Also I bought Dil Pasand on Friday. Dil pasand is a Special Item which will be available on Fridays and Weekend. This is a great place to stop by if you're looking for some authentic Indian sweet n savory snacks and it's perfect because its one of the very few restaurants where the consistency and proportions of the sauces in the chaat is just right and it tastes like a perfect "Delhi chaat". I have tried Alu tikki Burger ,Papri Chaat, Tikki Chaat, Samosa and everything was fantastic. Well I'm not very fond of there baked goods as I'm in love with Paris Baguette. Tried their eggless cakes Sunday. Sadly, very disappointing. The body had a powdery taste. Cakes were bulky, did not feel like a pastry at all. Icing/topping was also not up to the mark. I have been to Country Oven on several occasions now. When I am going to visit someone in the Bay Area, I like to get pastries from here and take them with me. They have quite a variety of flavors in their display: Pineapple, Strawberry. Black Forrest, Chocolate, Mango, and the list goes on. They have most of their flavors in regular and the egg less variety. The cakes always taste fresh and have a light, airy texture to them. It's a good alternative to the normal American bakery bought cakes as these are a lot lighter. We also got a cake from here for my grandma's birthday. I think it might have been a 12" round cake in a pineapple flavor. The decor is not like your traditional sheet cake you get from Safeway. It's the type of design you would get on a round cake in India. Although I didn't like the taste of the cake that day, everyone else did. For me, it was just a little too sweet. They also have breads, muffins, and a variety of fresh baked cookies as well as ice cream you can try. read more

This review is for the baker Alex and his team. We had a custom order for a 'Solar System' cake for my son's 5th birthday. The cake came out great and my son loved it. My son had very specific instructions on the color of each of the planet and things like the Saturn's ring etc. The baker was attentive to detail and though I had provided a sample model for reference, he has put in his ideas too. Each of the planets was multi-colored/ patterned just as we wanted and my son was super excited :). They were also quick and accomodative for the last minute changes (removed the Pluto , not counted as a planet anymore :) and creative to add a design on what appeared as a small cut on the cake) . I need to give two reviews for country oven - though it was opened recently, it was a part of peacock restarant before when we ordered a cake for our daughter's first bday party 3 years ago. In 2010 - we met Prem and requested for a monkey theme cake, I asked if he can make an edible monkey and just said surprise us - OMG, we were pleasantly surprised, he put a great effort and made 5 edible 3inch size monkeys eating bananas. The cake was a big big hit! Honestly, we became famous because of the cake and everyone remembers our daughter's first bday. It was a rectangular cake --half sheet butterscotch flavor and the other half black forest. All the guests absolutely loved the cake! 2013- Recently, we had a Mickey and Minnie mouse theme party for my daughter's 3rd bday - I contacted him again just a week back and asked if he can make a Mickey Minnie theme cake. I just gave hima brief description of what balloon colors I am using for the party and gave a general idea. He, as expected, exceeded my expectations and the cake became a big big hit! Everyone loved the flavors - this time we had a half sheet of kesar badam and the other half was butterscotch.. We had about 90 guests including kids - to our surprise the whole cake was over. Everyone kept on praising and enjoyed the cake so much! I will only order from country oven for all our bdays and would highly recommend them.
