Custom birthday cake. Flavor Gulab Jamun Cake

We have ordered and been to several occasions where I had tasted the cakes from Cakebakeyum. And, it's with no absolute doubt that it's one of the best I have had. Especially, the Gulabjamun and Rasmalai cakes are my favorites. The dessert cups are equally amazing (& addictive ).

    Beautiful and delicious cake.

From the moment you step inside, there is an unmistakable warmth to the space not just from the ovens but from the overall vibe. It is bright, upbeat, and welcoming in a way that immediately puts you at ease and sets the tone for a great experience. We started with the Pop Tarts which deserve special recognition. These are not novelty pastries. They are elevated, flaky, buttery, and packed with flavor. The kind of treat that makes you pause mid bite and immediately realize this place takes its craft seriously. The breakfast burrito was equally impressive. Hearty, well balanced, and comforting without being heavy, it was clearly made with intention and quality ingredients rather than shortcuts. The waffles with blueberries and whipped cream were outstanding. Crisp on the outside and soft and airy on the inside, with fresh blueberries that added brightness and a whipped cream that felt light and indulgent rather than overly sweet. It was the kind of dish that manages to feel nostalgic and refined at the same time. Then came the pastries. Any attempt at restraint disappeared quickly. Everything in the case looked incredible and after tasting the first few items it became obvious that passing on anything would have been a mistake. We ended up buying far more pastries than planned simply because the quality across the board was that high. There were no weak links. What truly elevates Life Is Sweet beyond excellent food is the energy of the place. There is a positivity that fills the room and it is completely effortless. It makes you want to slow down, sit longer, and enjoy where you are. Whether you are stopping in for a quick breakfast or lingering with coffee and conversation, the environment naturally lifts your mood. Life Is Sweet is not just a bakery or breakfast spot. It is a place that genuinely enhances your day. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere is inviting, and the experience stays with you well after you leave. This is a must visit in Danville and the kind of place you will find yourself thinking about long after the last pastry is gone.

I walked in and was immediately greeted by a young lady behind the counter. I decided to try a variety of cookies on display in the case. I went with- Oatmeal Raisin, Peanut Butter, Cookies 'n Cream, and Snickerdoodle. So 4 cookies, total $19. Good, fresh and tasty cookies. Not too sweet. Cafe was clean and neat. Lots of tables inside, and some outside. I will definitely return if I'm in downtown Danville again.

Karen, the owner, took the time to walk me through the sampler box of the different wedding cake flavors, even though it started to get busy in the store she was very kind to make it a personal experience. There were 12 different flavors in the sampler ranging from standard red velvet or vanilla cake, to some fancier ones such as poppy seed cake with lemon curd. Our favorite was the vanilla cake with apricot preserve and we will almost certainly be having that as one of our layers. I am very excited to continue working with them as we design our cake and next time I go in I will definitely be grabbing one of th delicious looking cannoli!

I was super overwhelmed handling other wedding details, and every conversation with them made me feel so comfortable. I talked to Karen a week beforehand to confirm all cake details, and she was SO warm and had the best "We got this! Don't even worry" attitude - I can't even describe how relieved she made me feel. They were able to make our whole cake gluten-free due to my own allergy. I have had celiac for almost 20 years, and still can't even bake anything remotely edible after countless attempts. The fact that they made this cake gluten free and we all RAVED about it is 1) a miracle in itself and 2) makes me actively very jealous that I can't try their normal baked goods! I didn't even really eat dinner at my own wedding, but you bet I had two pieces of cake. We are super grateful, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding cake!

My friend sent me some matcha sesame madeleines for my birthday, and my family finished all five of them in one day. Not only were they beautiful, but they were also so light, fluffy, and balanced in texture and flavor. I was actually so happy with these that I ordered a box of confetti cupcakes for another friend immediately after. Tori was so accommodating with my request and promptly delivered the goods in adorable packaging. These were also unlike any cupcakes we had ever had; they were so fluffy and soft, and filled with cream instead of iced outside. They were truly delightful and made a wonderful birthday present. I'll definitely be ordering from Tori again. I love seeing small businesses from around here, and I cannot express how pleased I was with everything - from the packaging to the ingredients to the taste. I love the variety on the menu and I cannot wait to try some more goodies soon!! Cant recommend enough!!

Recently, I finally splurged and ordered something for myself! A Mystery Box. In it, I received a lovely variety including 3 matcha cookies, and 1 each of berry, matcha sesame, and citrus madeleines. My favorite was definitely the cookies, I enjoy matcha in general and thought the combination of matcha with chocolate was a tasty and creative one! They were sweet but not too sweet and had a great chewy texture that held up well in their journey from SF to NYC. Overall, the customer service is prompt and the goodies are clearly made with care. I appreciate that shipping is available nationwide and that the delivery cost is incorporated into the menu price so it is easy to mentally calculate my total bill. Glancing at the menu, you can tell that After By Tori is pricier than your average bulk box of cookies at a grocery store, but you get the high quality that you pay for :-) They are open and receptive to feedback on their products and packaging as well. On social media, you are gifted with the additional treat of behind-the-scenes photos and videos as orders are being fulfilled and new recipes are being explored. I'm looking forward to seeing (and tasting) what After by Tori creates in the future

We noticed tables of candies and a whole wall of candy that you can choose from each candy was labeled with different countries where the candies came from which I thought was pretty cool. The people asked us if we need any help to let them know. We did notice that the prices were pretty high. So for 1 pound of candy in the bag it was $25. However, the girls did pick out a couple pieces of candy for each and we spent about $4.50. This place is definitely cute and provides a lot of different types of candies, but it is kind of pricey. I would definitely still come back when I have the extra funds.
