That's why we decided to order it from them for our baby's first birthday. We were so excited initially with our choice of bakery... ... It was also mother's day and I know they are overwhelmed with orders but quality should be maintained. 1. Butterscotch cake is dry. It wasn't moist at all like how it should be. Not even a little moist. Just dry. Guests told us that it was really dry... ... 2. I wanted a "naked" cake as communicated to them. Even sent them a photo. But it came patchy and looking like the baker did a sloppy job with it. And there's a big crack right at the center of the cake. 3. One of the alphabets are not attached properly to the "string". I fully understand that there might be differences to what I've communicated (with a photo via email and talking over the phone). But the taste of the cake and the patchiness look and the crack right at the middle are too much of a disappointment for us. Won't order from them anymore. read more

I got a Falooda, Pani Puri, Papdi Chat and Samosa from Cakes and Bakes for the first time Honestly - they should teach the people how to make a Falooda. I have never had a Falooda this bad in my entire life. It's so watery that I need a straw to drink it. The vermicelli is not cooked well and the taste of it was so off. Then the Pani Puri - no masala (potatoes and Chickpeas not there) just got some Green water and some onions and tomatoes and now you can imagine the taste. The prices are ridiculous that it not a price anywhere in Dublin or Pleasanton. Samosa was ok and the Papdi Chat - my son it was good. Please improve the food that you give. We ordered 3 cakes so far and all of them turned out Outrageous. Couldn't have been much happier with the results. Alex is great in listening to what we wanted and his execution was brilliant. If you have a lot of time in your hands and are ready to wait 30 mins to get one samosa and a puff (premade) then this is the place to be and oh yeah this was at 5:30 pm on a weekday. Be ready to spend $2.50 on a veg puff. I guess it's more profitable to open a bakery than being an engineer. As far as quality goes, it's just ok and price isn't justifiable. To the mgmt: Get a grip on delivering items on time. Should have walked out similar to a customer where he ordered one pastry and was waiting for 15 mins. This review is for their Dublin location store. I ordered a black forest cake for my daughter's birthday from their shop. I gave the order well in advance so that i get nice eggless and fresh cake. The cake that i received was the most awful cake that i ever tasted in my life. I dont know wht it was, but it was definitely not a black forest cake. None of our guest ate that cake and it literally ruined my daughter's birthday party. When i called their shop and spoke to their manager and asked for the refund, he became defensive and started arguing with me. After my persistent complain this guy asked to get sample cake to their shop and get it tested. I brought couple of pieces of cake to this guy and asked him to test and taste. He clearly denied that there is nothing wrong in this cake and started talking to us very rudely. Then this guy asks to get the whole cake so that i can be tested thoroughly. I mean that was ridiculous to demand such thing. We cut the cake without knowing the fact how aw ful it is, how can I bring the whole cake to him. He was literally making excuse. I told him that i dont need money but just accept the mistake and learn how to behave to their customers.
