My new go to place for custom cakes. I am so glad I found this gem! I ordered a somewhat last minute cake for my son's birthday a week before my event. I had a specific design in mind and sent Cakes and Bakes the image. They got back to me immediately and just had a minor tweak that they couldn't replicate from the original design. I liked the fact that they told this to me upfront rather than surprise me last minute. When I picked up the cake,I wasn't expecting it to turn out as amazing as it did. It looked just as good as the picture did! On top of that, the flavor (butterscotch) was delicious! The cake was just the right amount of sweet and also perfectly moist. I normally don't like fondant but there's was decent in taste. The cake was such a huge hit at the party. Best of all was the price. I couldn't believe how affordable the cake was given the custom design and the size I was given. This is a unique kinda place combined with a restaurant next door. There is a private parking lot but can get busy at times. They had a lot of different pastries and cakes. We ordered my son's 3rd birthday cake. We were looking for an egg less and nut free cake. Since my son's school, where we had his bday celebration, was strict about it. The cake turned out good. It was close to the design from the picture. And it tasted pretty good considering that it was egg less. But I felt a bit short changed because the cake didn't include the stars decoration that was shown on the picture. The cake was not cheap, but I think the $80 price tag was worth it for a themed cake that fed more than 30 kids and teachers from my son's birthday celebration at his school. on 11/28 I went to Cakes and Bakes to pickup the cake, Looks like recently there was a management changes. I like cakes and bake, but the the service was vert horrible, they are rude and treating that we are getting cake for free. I Ordered the cake for 11/28 but they called me on 11/27 saying that your cake is ready and I told them my pickup date is 11/28. When I went to 11/28 @11:30 AM they asked me to wait for 5 minutes whenever I asked them they always says almost done and 5 minutes, but I ended waited for 40 minutes. I lost my patience, after that when I asked them the front cashier went inside and told to cake maker he came and see me in the kitchen window. The Service is very poor and customer treatment is not good, They is no sorry from them after after I waited for 40 minutes. The cook is staring at me multiple times, this is the first time I am seeing in US shops. It happens back in India. Looks like the new management is not doing good. We're in the middle of COVID and the majority of the workers weren't wearing masks or wearing them properly. The cashier was talking with his mask completely off and when he did put it on, it didn't cover his nose and seemed to be slipping off. When he went to speak with the workers in the back, I noticed that the kitchen staff wasn't wearing a mask and another one had his sliding off. Totally puts you off your appetite to think that these people might have been breathing over the cakes and interacting with so many people throughout the day and I'm there to buy food. Not trying to get COVID and it's a shame that these restaurant workers weren't wearing their masks properly.
