Today was my first time trying this bakery and we decided to try the cupcakes. They offer a nice assortment and come in a 4, 6, or 12 pack. We tried snickerdoodle, strawberry, strawberry crunch, strawberry shortcake, Oreo and red velvet. HONEYYYY!!! They were all delicious. The cake was moist and very flavorful and the icing was smooth whipped and airy. Just delicious cupcakes all together. I ordered an 8 pack online to pick up later that day. You have to use PayPal or Klarna. I called to let them know what time I would be there to pickup (as requested on the site). Everything was ready when I got there. The turtle and snickerdoodle were my favorite. I am a sucker for snickerdoodle and these did not disappoint. The icing was perfect. First of all - the customer service here is hands down everything!! Whenever I feel the "where do I know you from?!" vibes I know I've found a worthy establishment to spend money. We visited strictly for the milkshakes as we'd seen a few TikTok videos that beckoned us to come check them out. We were not disappointed! My daughter, had the unicorn milkshake which sadly didn't come w a cupcake like many of the others but instead boasted all kinds of candy and frostings drizzled on the sides including a lollipop and rock candy stuck inside, yea more than enough sugar!! When I received my milkshakes, I was still standing there and one of the young ladies came from the back and was wondering why was i still there? I explained to her that I didn't pay and she looked surprised. I paid for the milkshakes and left. The milkshakes were good, but the cupcake on top was so hard I couldn't enjoy it. Let me just start off by saying this is not based only on their customer service. I'm sure the video on tik tok made their business boom, but....I won't be coming back here. We waited in line for over an hour to order. When ordering, the cashier informed us they only had the large shake available, no problem. Then after we ordered we were told we had to wait another 30 mins before the shakes would be ready. Those 30 mins turned out to be 45. We were so behind we had to change our reservations for what we planned over 2 hours after our arrival!! On to the shakes.... I got the birthday cake shake and it was....it just was. The shake itself tasted like straight milk. That probably had something to do with the fact 15 minutes after we ordered the milkshakes were sold out. I'm thinking they tried to stretch that last corner of ice cream. The rim with covered in icing and rainbow sprinkles. The icing had no sweetness whatsoever. I'm sure that's because they didn't want the shake to be too sweet. But good lord it needed a little. The cupcake on top tasted like a regular dry cupcake. Nothing special. My gf got the cookies and cream and was disappointed more than I was. Found Ms Cynthia on Instagram as she was hosting a cake decorating class for kids. My daughter being our resident baker just had to signup! Let's start by the WOW factor when you enter the party/class area. My little one was so happy, and even though I was leaving her in a strange place for 2 hours she seemed as ease and the pick ip was full of smiles and happiness! I have to be completely honest. After reading some of the reviews, I was a bit reluctant about visiting this location. I've put it off for a few weeks now. However, I promised my son that I'd take him. From the time we opened the door, the staff were very friendly. Even those starting their shift, coming into work, were very friendly. When I visit an establishment, I always see how the staff act. They genuinely seemed happy about working there which was a plus for me. There were 4 people in from of us in line. The line moved pretty fast. We ended up ordering a 1/2 dozen to take home and 2 to eat in the car. My son got the cookies and cream and I got Grandmas cake. OMG!!! The Grandmas cake was phenomenal, bouncy and moist. You know a cupcake is good when you can eat it without the icing. I was impressed with the size of the cupcakes as well. I hate to even post this but I'm disappointed after my experience here... the owner ran a special on heart cakes on Instagram to which I purchased a voucher in January 2024. She stated that the voucher would be valid for 1 year and to call a week in advance for them to fulfill the order. I needed a cake for March 9th so I called on February 28th to inquire (1 weeks notice). Sadly when I asked if I could use the voucher to get the cake made by March 9th, I was quickly told that date was booked. Before I could even ask another question, the employee hung up on me. I've messaged and emailed the business about getting a refund for the voucher since the business was unable to accommodate my request. I haven't heard anything to date. This is very disappointing since I like to support black owned businesses. The customer service needs to be better! Update: the company responded however this was after the BBB notified them of my complaint. They claim there is no refunds on vouchers, however upon purchasing there was nothing stating that! I decided to try this place after I found it on yelp and it was close to my houses. I actually come to the area every now and then to get food and I had no idea this place existed. It's in the lower level of the center near teppanyaki buffet and America's best wings. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised they had plenty of options. They have not only cupcakes but also cookies, brownies, cake slices, and even some desserts in a cup. It all looked great. I got an Oreo cupcake and a strawberry crunch cupcake. Total came to bout $4 which is pretty decently priced. The cupcakes were ok in my opinion. Nothing special but better than the ones you can buy at the grocery store. The cake was very average strawberry cake and a waste if calories. The icing's texture was inconsistent and unrecognizable. It thickness was like whip cream but airyer. My stomach did flips all day. Not again. -The Grandma cupcakes was attractive because it was simple. Yellow cake with chocolate icing. The cake was basic and lacked flavor. A box cake mix would have helped. This was very disappointing again because this is a bakery. It's suppose to be amazing. The chocolate icing was pretty good. I experienced the worst possible customer service with this business. This past weekend I had a baby shower In which this company was supposed to cater using their funnel cake truck. I booked this event and paid my deposit on July 22nd for a party on September 12th. On September 8th I reached out to this company to see when I would be lying the remaining balance and they emailed me back on September 9th letting me know that they were not licensed in PG county!!! Three days before my shower!! WHY IN TBE WORLD should a customer have to reach out to you in order for you to tell them two days before the event you cannot come. Not to mention when the manager finally did call me after me leaving several messages..she nonchalantly tells me that there is nothing she can do to rush my deposit back to me. My money would just be tied up while looking for another vendor. And her excuse for not telling me that she was not licensed in PG county because she "thought she could handle it." We waited for an hour to order, ordered the cookies and cream and birthday cake shakes. We were told it would take 20 minutes, but it took another hour. About a half hour after ordering the guy comes out and says they're out of shakes but everyone that already ordered was fine. We get our shakes and I immediately recognized the ice cream had no flavor. Tasted like frozen milk and water with Hershey's syrup (which btw, is NOT the same as hot fudge). I suspect they ran out much sooner and tried to stretch the ingredients. If that's the case, just refund our money. The cupcakes were okay, tasted like a box cake. I absolutely love this little place in the heart of our urban community I am huge on customer service and I have never been treated with anything but the upmost respect. I went to visit a few friends in Baltimore that have a ton of kids and I wanted to bring the kids cupcakes for the new year so I did a quick yelp search and found cakes by Cynthia in the Arbutus area of Baltimore. This cake shop is located in a cul-de-sac by the huge Walmart on Washington Avenue. Upon entry I was greeted by a nice young lady who immediately asked me what I wanted. All of the cupcakes and cakes looked delicious so I decided to try a half dozen of assorted flavors of cupcakes. The cupcakes were well displayed and immaculately decorated and the kids absolutely loved them. The cupcakes were moist and delicious which is all a girl needs. A half dozen cupcakes will run you $19 which is standard for this area. 1 star is actually too much for Cynthia and her staff's lack of professionalism BUYER BEWARE! Read reviews and check her nasty responses before buying. A cake was ordered during a Black Friday sale from a local bakery. The date, time and colors were confirmed in December. The date was January 22, 2022, colors green and blue, and pick up time at 11:00am. This information was again confirmed in January 7, 2022. The bakery was called today January 21, 2022 today to share that there would be someone else picking up the cake tomorrow at 11:00am. At that time the bakery stated that the order could NOT be picked up at 11:00am, but could instead be picked up at 3:00pm or after. This caused an inconvenience because the party starts at 5:00pm and the person who was to pick the cake up wouldn't be able to. My sister asked to speak with the owner of the bakery and was told she was not in the bakery. At this time my sister was told that if that didn't work she "could just get a refund." The entire interaction with the bakery associate was unpleasant and unprofessional. While on the way to the bakery the owner started a live stream on Instagram. My sister commented that she called the bakery and was told that she wasn't there, the owner proceeded to end the live stream after the comment was posted. We headed to the bakery to get a refund for the cake while trying to find someone to make this order at the last minute. The cake was for my niece's 16th birthday party. When we arrived at the bakery my sister asked the associate to speak with Cynthia. Cynthia came out from the back visibly annoyed and asked my sister to share what was going on. My sister shared what happened on the phone call including that she was told that Cynthia wasn't at the bakery. To this Cynthia replied "I tell them to tell people I'm not here because I can't get the stuff done that I need to if people know I'm here. Like right now, I'm out here dealing with this and I have someone on the way to pick up a cake." This indicated to me that my sister's order was of no importance. She then asked my sister if there was "anyone else who could pick up the cake" to which my sister answered no so she just wants to be refunded. My sister went on to say that it was unfortunate because she would have to find someone to make a cake last minute to which Cynthia agreed and said that there most likely wouldn't be anyone who could make a cake so last minute. My sister then said that she wasn't even being accommodated for her inconvenience. Cynthia stated "you actually are being accommodated with a pick up time of 3:00pm because your party isn't until 5:00pm." At this time I stated that having to pick up the cake at 3:00pm wasn't an accommodation. Cynthia placed her hand up to the glass as if to put it in my face and stated "I'm not talking to you, I'm talking to the person who paid for the cake." After being completely disrespected by this woman, she and I began to exchange words. And she said I "could leave" to which I replied that I wasn't until a refund was provided. She then laughed and said "oh you not leaving? You not going to leave? Go get my phone." I assume this was to prompt me to leave which I still did not. I took a phone call and explained to the caller what was going on. Cynthia continued to address me and state that I was "doing too much." All the while my sister still has not been refunded. Rather than refund the purchaser she wanted to go back and forth with me instead. This woman had the audacity to say that she was "trying to be professional" when obviously she has NO BUSINESS ETIQUETTE at all! So it was too late to put on a fake professional front! When my sister was FINALLY refunded, I made it clear to Cynthia and her staff that we would not be supporting her business again and left. This is an example of a small/black business that makes it extremely hard for the rest. My sister has been supporting this business since she was on Baker Street selling $1 cupcakes. Instead of apologizing for the incompetence of herself or her staff who made an error in recording the pick up day and time, she would rather lose a loyal customer. read more

I placed an online order for a cake for my daughter's sweet 16th. Placed the order on 6/16. Gave the store a call that same evening, was told to give a call the next day, to provide details for the cake & date of pick up, which I did. Young woman took my information, told me we'd be good to go for the 24th. Fast forward to yesterday (24th), I call to confirm the cake was ready for pickup.... These people never made my cake & acted as though the had no idea I even placed an order! I'm 100% sure the young lady that acted as though she was unsure what happened is the very same person that took my order the week before.
