Oh my gaw! I have literally died and gone to heaven! The cakes are amazing! So soft and moist. And the flavor packs so much in one bite!! Wow. We completely devoured our cake. Even the frosting and fondant was delicious. And normally that's just too much sugar for me. But wow. Yeah. I'd say we nailed it here! The decorations..the service.. everything was awesome. I heard about cakes by Frosted because my sister ordered from the owner for her son's first bday. Everyone was impressed with the design and the flavor. So when it came to my son's birthday, I didn't even bother looking around and just went ahead and ordered from Stefanie. I told her the cakes I have in mind, and I was very happy with the delivery. Quarantine times birthday for my 8 year old. Can't have a party, he has barely left the house, misses his friends, family, and even school! So it's whatever we can do to make his birthday special. I was going to make a cake but my husband rightly realized we might want to find a professional. Stephanie emailed with my husband about what he wanted - a very specific combo of Naruto (Japanese anime) theme with lime and coconut. The result was amazing- a Naruto coconut cake with a lime cream cheese filling! It was beautiful and delicious and it completely made his day! Thank you Stephanie!! read more

I don't know how I missed writing review for this gem of a business! Stephanie made the most perfect cake for my daughter's first birthday. The theme was "Wheels on the bus" because it's her fav song and as you can imagine that's constantly playing in our house or in our cars. I couldn't believe how excited a one year old can get by looking at a cake and that's all thanks to the magic created by Stephanie. The cake turned out great and tasted delicious. We also ordered mini-cupcakes for the party - Vanilla with coconut topping and chocolate with mocha cream topping. Our guests loved them. Asked for a cake weeks in advanced and was waiting to hear back for a pricing about the cake, I didn't hear from her so I called back a day before thinking I would be on the schedule since we talked about how I can pay her, when I wanted to pick up the cake, what I wanted the cake to look like and, how many people I wanted to serve. Just to hear that I should have called her back earlier because she has to many people ahead of me ( I called 1/4-1-6) and she can't make my cake by the date I need it anymore. Which is tomorrow. I'm Left to find someone to make it happen. Just very disappointing. And I won't be ordering again. read more

Let me start off by saying thank you sooooo much, Stefanie!!!! I ordered a birthday cake from her when my friend wanted a birthday cake for her party! I'm so happy I found her she was the first person I saw on yelp and I'm happy I clicked her page. All the other cakes that customers had posted were beautiful!!! I emailed her explaining what I had wanted and it was in such a short time span from when I messaged her from when I needed the cake. All the communication was through email and she was able to have the cake ready 4 days later!!! And it was sooo cute and better than what I had expected !!! All the make up on the cake was amaziI'm super upset at myself that I didn't get more pictures of the cake ‍‍ ... I can't write about how it tasted the birthday girl refused to let us cut it Becuase it was too pretty to eat at the time lol. Also, don't get confused when the GPS takes you to an ace hardware store as I did lol her shop is inside the hardware store to the left all cute and set up to the side!! Incredible experience from start to finish. I reached out to Stefanie about 6 weeks before my event and she was responsive and easy to work with on my order. The cupcakes she made for my daughter's birthday were SO delicious and exactly what I had in mind. Everyone at the party raved about them and asked me where I got them from. The perfect cake! Stephanie was easy to work with, and designed this incredible fire truck cake for my son's 2nd birthday. We went with chocolate and vanilla swirl cake w/ chocolate buttercream inside, and everyone commented how delicious it was. Will definitely order cakes from here again. I was looking for a bakery that can make the Annaprasan Cake for our daughter's rice feeding. It is a hindu cultural ceremony for the first rice feeding of baby besides milk. I was not able to find places that can do it, since this is not common around here. However I contacted this place, and chatted with Stephenie on phone, and she asked me to send design pic/idea on phone. I sent couple images to her, and she made exactly the same, or I will have to say even better. Cake was very tasty as well, not just the look. I definitely recommend this place, esp if you have unique requirement and design. Stephenie rocks !!! read more

Stephanie is amazing! Her work is incredible. She will bring your vision to life. From the jump, Stephanie was responsive, professional, and accommodating. She helped us figure out the best option and design. We went with a round chocolate cake with a bus topper. The final design completely exceeded my expectations. I'm still shook! I have no words! Stephanie is communicative, kind, responsive. (And I only met her when I picked up the cake!) Then there was the cake - wow! A masterpiece. Honestly - she went above and beyond. If I were to share the picture of my favorite 3 year old in the world (grandson!) you would see a little boy who sat and smiled in a way that moved me - he studied each of the characters that Stephanie so carefully crafted and placed on the cake. I really didn't know what to expect - but again - beyond surprised! Miss Mona was an actual mouse - and the way her tail was placed coming off the cake - oh my. And Trash Truck himself! Wow! Walter, Donny - seriously, I could go on and on. And I shall - because here is this beautiful piece of art and sometimes you sacrifice taste - but not with Stephanie - we took our first bites and all the adults were like - what!? This cake is magnificent. And we all sat quietly after that and just took bite after bite. Okay, fine - that what's I hate for dinner tonight too. My daughter is a super fan of the Nightmare Before Christmas and so I wanted to surprise her with a themed cake. I found a picture and sent it off to Stephanie and the specifics of my order and she was super quick to respond and said we were good to go. She was very communicative about picking up the cake and kept me up to date. When I picked up the cake I was amazed at how much it looked like the picture only better. My daughter absolutely loved it. So, the true test would come down to the taste and OMG it was awesome. Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting...so moist and dense it was heaven and the frosting was not overly sweet. Just sheer goodness. If you want an amazing tasting cake that looks exactly how you picture it then Stephanie is the one to call. I recently ordered a cake, cake pops, and cupcakes from Frosted for my sisters co-ed baby shower. Her desserts were a huge hit!!! The parent to be loved all of the desserts and she offers some really interesting different flavors from other bakers. My favorite, the lemon cupcake with passion fruit buttercream frosting!!! Established in 2010.

Cakes by Frosted debuted at the Edmonds Farmer's Market in the summer of 2009. We established a relationship with Nama's Candy Store and worked with them from 2010-2016. Now Frosted operates out of Ace Hardware in downtown Edmonds.

Meet the Business Owner: Stefanie B.

Sole owner of Cakes by Frosted, Stefanie Buono got her start in the baking industry at a local Edmonds restaurant where she worked as pastry chef learning new baking techniques and perfecting cupcake and cake recipes. From there she went on to running a catering company for almost four years. Knowing that her real passion was in baking she began the journey to staring her own business. Cakes by Frosted started selling cupcakes inside of Nama's Candy Store on August 19th of 2010. Nama's quickly became a front for patrons to order not only cupcakes but cakes as well. Since the recent closure of Nama's Candy Store (which we'll miss dearly!) Frosted is now operating out of Ace Hardware also in downtown Edmonds. Pre ordered specialty cupcakes and cakes are available for pick Wednesday-Sunday from 10am-4pm. Please contact Stefanie to place your order. We look forward to working with you soon!

We reserve well in advance and mostly sit at the sushi bar. The space is on the smaller side but I've seen hopeful walk-ins be seated (I've also seen many turned away--I suggest reservations.) Service has always been stellar. We normally enjoy a salmon flight, a tuna flight, the kelp-cured scallops (must be ordered in advance) and whatever else strikes our fancy or Nakano-San recommends. It's always spectacular! I find the nigiri to be just about perfect--just enough rice to offset the fresh taste of the fish. There is plenty on the menu beyond sushi but we admit to coming here for one reason only so I can't speak to much else (although the green salad is very nice, as is dessert.) Plenty of wine, cocktail and sake options. I remember the many years we didn't have a sushi restaurant in downtown Edmonds so I never take an evening here for granted. We both got 2 portions of the 11 piece omakase ($53) and the great pacific northwest roll ($20) to share. The omakase offered good variety and came with an explanation of each cut of fish which was nice. We both enjoyed everything just fine but were left a little disappointed with the quality. Because of all the great reviews and the price point, I think we just were expecting to enjoy our meal much more than we did. The fish quality was not poor by any means but just not that good. The roll also lacked a bit of flavor as well :( I don't know if we just went on an off night or not, and I am hopeful that might be true. The ambiance was nice and balanced, the tables were spaced apart well, making the hum of the restaurant nice but not too much. I don't think we would be back due to the overall quality of our meal but it think it is worth a stop if you are craving sushi in the area.

I ordered a cake from Frosted for my husband's college graduation. She worked with me to get exactly what I wanted and I couldn't be happier with how it all turned out!
