I was quoted $240 to clean windows screens and tracks by Joseph. Very pleasant guy showed up on time after a text confirmation the night before. He said the job would take about 3 hours. While he was here, I asked him about the mildew spots on the front of my house. (One single story area measuring 21 ft wide). He said he would try his cleaner on a patch and see how it worked. He never said another word about it. Did not follow up with a revised quote. I was available the entire time. Apparently, he cleaned that front area of the house He was here 30 minutes longer than anticipated. I paid him cash and he left. Apparently he texted me while I was out and didn't see my phone saying he was underpaid and to please have my husband call him. Before I saw the text, Joseph came back requesting to speak to my husband, not me. He said that the charge was for 440 not 240 for the extra work. He never quoted me an upcharge before doing the extra work. I never would have agreed to such an exorbitant price! He really DID NOT want to deal with me, only my husband saying he knows how it is - he has a wife too! I told him it was poor business the way he approached it, but I would pay him for his time asking him how long it took, and he said an hour extra. I told him that was not accurate that I had it on my ring camera and the time he left was only 30 minutes past the time he had quoted the job would take. Doing the math I told him I would pay him an additional $80. I came in to get payment and when I got back outside, he had left after continuing to speak with my husband. Bad business! Too bad because the job was good except for my sliding glass door tracks, which I have spent the last hour cleaning the wet muck out of! if you use this business make sure you get everything in writing ahead of time and you better have your husband deal with him. Having waited too long to have our windows cleaned after being disappointed with out last two services we reached out to Joseph at Cal Clear Window Cleaning. He arrived on time, was polite, professional and got right to work. He spent more time than either of our previous two services combined and it showed! I cannot recommend Joseph. Although he did an excellent job washing our windows, he switched the screens in our bedroom and bathroom that have alarm wires in them. This mistake resulted in our inability to use our house alarm system and a necessary service call to our alarm company which cost us $150. I understand that anybody can make a mistake, but I specifically asked Joseph before he took the screens off if he had experience with alarm screens and he replied yes. In addition to this, when I texted him to get back to me so I could discuss the unfortunate outcome with him , he never called back. I then texted him once more, sending him a photo of the bill from the alarm company with their diagnosis of the problem and asking him if he would be willing to reimburse us part of our payment to him given what we had to pay the alarm company, but I never heard from him. Unfortunately, I find this to be somewhat unprofessional on his part. Hence, I would not recommend him in all good faith. read more
