I needed 144 pages of good quality colored print copies to present in court regarding a property dispute. Photos were taken with an IPhone 14. I emailed Mr. Rahim at 2am, and at 9am he responded to get the job done. Picked up the goods at 12pm! He even took the time to separate the copies with colored paper, UPS would never! Mr. Rahim and his wife are so lovely, always sneaking a discount for me only charging less than half of what UPS would charge me. Even without me ever asking! UPS charges $1 per colored copy. Support small businesses please! Remember, small businesses don't have fancy marketing teams. They invest in the quality of services. I have been using CalCopy in La Mesa for a couple of years and they have always done an excellent job for me. I use them for color copies/flyers for work and it's important that the copies look good - at a reasonable price. I've gone to other places - for convenience- but now I just make the drive because their quality is worth it. I send them an email with what I need and it's done in no time! Came in for a last minute paper binding job for my MGT401 Internship class. I walked in and let them know that I wanted to bind it and without saying anything else about the specifics, the worker asked me how many Appendices I needed. He already knew what I needed for my project which included different labeled tabs (that I didn't even have to tell him, he just got them ready for me). My family was referred to Cal Copy to have a photo blown up for my father's memorial service. Because of some miscommunication with our original printer, we then had to request 100 obituaries be made in 2 days with no real design in mind. Not only did Cal Copy handle both requests in a calm and reassuring matter, we had some minor changes and edits on the print day that he added perfectly, and still printed out by our 2pm deadline. Cal Copy is the best printer in the SDSU area. Even when it gets busy, Lee and Ray are always helpful and if you're a loyal customer (like me! ^^), you will often get discounted copies, which is really cool. Only con to this well-established site is their $5 policy (if the print work is less than $5, you have to use cash) and hours. They close at 6 pm and they don't open on Sunday. Rush hour is usually between 12-1 and 2-3, so if you have something due for your class (I'm talking to you art majors at state) come here earlier. (cause you never know what happens when it prints....) --- Even when I look like a crazy person and boss Lee and Ray around, I always get stellar service and I often use them as magic 8 balls to give me the scoop to what paper I should use and what everyone in class is doing. --- Although it sucks that they don't open past 6 pm on weekdays, Cal Copy is HANDS DOWN WAY BETTER than Kinkos at Mission Gorge. read more

I've been coming here for the past 3 years to print all my art projects. The prices are probably the same as printing on campus, but Ray is always eager to help to make sure you get your print job done right. He's really the only one who knows how to print each thing correctly, so if the store is full then you might have to wait for him to finish helping others before you. To avoid the long lines for the computers what I usually do is email him all the files that I need and I tell him exactly which files to print in which size and whether it's in black and white or in color. I then tell him that I will be there in __ minutes (usually 15), so then when I get there, the prints will already be done and all I have to do is pick them up and pay. They are always willing to help, and will also advise what the best prints to make are if you are having trouble deciding which size to print on if you want to cut it smaller. They also have paper cutting tools that you can use if you want to make closer cuts to outlines. They will also print and mount onto foam boards for you for presentations. (Tip: for large prints, the printer ink shows up a little darker than it shows on the computer, so I would advise you to adjust the brightness of whatever you want to print on photoshop before sending it to print). This place will always accommodate to your needs and will make sure that you are satisfied with your prints. I will always be a loyal customer as long as I am still in San Diego. read more

I always get good service here.. I don't get charged by the minute if I want to download a document from the server.. there are macs and pcs.. I used to have a color inkjet printer for the sole purpose of printing out Christmas labels. Invariably, whenever it was time to print, one or more cartridges would be either empty or dried out, necessitating a new expensive cartridge. Instead, I ditched the color printer and went to Cal Copy. I was done in a flash at a very reasonable rate. Couldn't be happier NOT owning a color printer! read more

This place was a Yelp find, I needed a old picture scanned and enlarged for a gift. and these guys were amazing, did error correction on my older photo, (this was a polaroid type picture taken from a album) and enlarged the darn thing to 2 feet square with no problem, everything was done promptly and one time. I needed my resume printed in a hurry. I had an interview later in the day. I sent them my resume via e-mail. They had the prints I requested ready to go when I got there (11 of them) on snazzy paper in color for 6.00. It's a family owned business. They were super helpful and nice. One of my attachments was sent from Google docs and required permission. They had computers there to use but I was able to rectify it from my phone. Access to print from a computer is FREE (unlike Stinkos.. I mean Kinkos.) And the customer service is usually helpful and friendly. PROS: Nice prints. Good prices. Accessible Mac + PC computers. They are cheap and reliable and have like five working, state-of-the-art Macs for customer use. Cal Copy is legit. The people there are semi-normal and not that exciting, but I guess that is what happens when your life profession is dedicated to making copies. I think it is a family business because all the employees look alike and shit...haha WHOOOO! But I have gone there to make flyers to advertise for events, class readers, and to make large amounts of copies in general. The price is reasonable $0.10 cents per copy...and on class readers if you pay with cash or check you get 20% off your purchase! HOLLLA! Gotta love the discounts! But for any purchase at Cal Copy, if you buy anything that is less than $5.00 you cannot use your credit card. I think that is such a lame rule because I NEVER have cash on me..so even something as ridiculous as $0.15 cents I always charge to my debit card. So just keep that in mind. However, I went to Cal Copy earlier this week to make 50 copies for a survey for my Marketing Research class. There was hardly anyone in the store, but the lady who helped me took freaking forever! Like it shouldn't take 30 minutes to make 50 copies...come on now... Overall, all the other experiences I have had at Cal Copy have been quick and convienent make sure you get the older looking guy there..he rules! read more

I found this wonderful place right here on Yelp. Both Lee and Ray gave me fabulous service. I can barely believe how wonderful, polished, and professional my flyers look! Frankly, I was a bit nervous about going through the process of figuring out how to fill in the blanks on my pdf file, but Ray was a great help. The parking here is tricky (some diagonal spots in front of the brown building across the street worked well for me, thanks to that nice customer who told me about it!), but worth it for the great service and more-than-reasonable price. read more

I thought the pricing was a little pricey but they look good the guy who helped me (Lee?) was friendly, and I was out of there quickly. Major drawback is the parking situation.
