Had a large, defective Amazon item that AMAZON wanted returned (an industrial cart with stripped wheels after just 90 days of light use around home). Had the QR code, took it in, UPS worker said it needed to be broken down and boxed up (Amazon said it didn't because the pieces lock in place). UPS worker (a guy) said it could be wrapped up in a bag. My caregiver went and purchased furniture wrap and duct tape to return it. Took it back, they refused it "due to dimensions." "We don't take something that large wrapped up in a bag." This from the same individual who had said "Put it in a bag" just 40 minutes before. Called Amazon, they said the individual at this UPS Store should have accepted the return. Now Amazon has arranged to have the same item picked up at my home. I'm on a very limited budget and spent $23.88 to wrap it up as requested. Now get to wait for UPS to come get it from my home and I'm out almost $25. Never previously had a problem with this store. Always used them. But if the UPS Store person is not going to accept a package though Amazon explained how to return it and the very same person re-explained how to return it, and then would not accept the package as wrapped for return--as explained because they "don't accept anything those dimensions unless it's in a box" they should have called Amazon about it! They should have said from the very beginning, we won't accept this wrapped up in a plastic furniture bag. My caregiver said she'll never use this store again. read more

So I pay an annual fee to have most of my packages rerouted for pick up and chose this location, it is not the closest to me, there are several locations I pass to get here, but the service here is always a 10/10. It is a busy location. But they always deliver customer service to customers. I over hear their conversations while in line and it's always about good service. I have been coming here for about 4-5 years, and although they recognize me when I come in, they still ask for my ID to verify and I appreciate that. I travel often so if I need to extend my package pick up by a couple days they always help me out. And because of that when I have to pay for any delivery services I make sure to come to this location. They are patient and efficient. Unfortunately the scan it myself and avoid humans option wasn't running but the long hair guy at the counter made it so quick and easy. Back home and isolating watching Netflix is under 15 mins. Ok, whoever is the manager/owner at this store? You need to read reviews and make the connection about the one employee who is reigning in the lower ratings for this store. Tatyana is her name. She is a horrible employee with the worst attitude I have ever seen in a customer facing role. Today was "third time's the charm" of being treated horrible by this entitled and rude individual. But, that is just the tip of the iceberg from this visit this morning. After I left the store, she watched me get into my vehicle with the nastiest look on her face and literally THREW my return package to her coworker a good ten feet away. The package needed to be handled with care. She looked at what it was and still threw it, not caring if it went back broken or shattered. If you doubt my observation? Check your store cameras from this morning at approximately 8:45-9:00 am. If my refund doesn't come through because of your employee? I will expect the refund from your store, or more specifically Tatyana's paycheck. She should not be customer facing nor should she be so disrespectful in handling return items as she has/does. Came in to drop something off. No other services needed. And the employees both immediately said hi to me even though they were serving other customers. When it was my turn to drop it off. They gave me a detailed explanation of how long I should keep the receipts. And what happens if I need to dispute anything. Great service. Happy I came to this location to return my items. Went in to drop off a return package and Tatyana greeted another lady who was already being helped by another associate. Tatyana continues to chat with the other lady and gestures me to walk up. Doesnt speak to me not once, too busy talking to the other customer hands me my receipt copy and says "have a nice day". Just didnt appreciate the lack of customer service. Never had an issue with the employees here before but today the worker name Tatyana was so rude to me for no reason. I asked a simple question and she gave me attitude and gave me a stare that made me feel really stupid. I'm a manager and I work in customer service and I never treat a customer that way. Someone needs to check her because the way she acts towards customers is not okay. I was so nice and now i will probably go to a different UPS store and will definitely tell people not to come here because of the attitude. You don't know what someone is going through and for someone to just be rude like that for no reason is so wrong. Also i was not being a Karen at all, i did not do anything like that. I had a "Happy Returns" drop off and I'm so Glad I chose this store. The two gentlemen at the counter were very busy and had a line. I grimaced and thought this will take a while because I've had bad experiences at the post office. 5 whole stars for each Allen and Steven. Both were extremely kind and professional. They addressed each customer by Ms or Sir and made sure each of us knew we were to be helped asap. I really long for that type of service and it's basically nonexistent these days. We have had great service for years but I guess there is another owner! Recently had terrible service and they refused to give us money back on a huge box that was 3x larger than the item we wanted boxed . We couldn't even fit it in the car! The other item was " boxed" with literally pieces of cardboard and tape that the receipt said was the same as the other box but was packaged smaller. I take back everything I have ever posted positive on this location as the new " owner" is a younger guy who doesn't care about the neighbors that have been giving that office business for years! read more

I am very disappointed with the customer service I received on Monday, March 30, 2026 from the UPS Store on El Cajon Blvd, La Mesa, CA. I was trying to return a couple Amazon items and had trouble getting the return labels. A young lady was helping me. A young man appeared at the counter and just told the lady to step aside and and he proceeded to help the next customer. He treated me as if I did not matter. I was appalled and felt humiliated. I stepped away from the counter and retrieved the email to send the label to UPS. When I went back to the counter and the young man received my email, I asked to speak to the manager and he stated he was the manager. I proceeded to tell him how the two young men treated me and I saw a smirk on his face but he did say when the store clears out he would talk to them. I feel as though I was discriminated against due to being an older person. I will never visit this store again. read more

I unfortunately did not get the young man and the lady's name. They opened the door and greeted me with Ms. Picked up my package that spilled out of my cart. Showed me where to go with cart. Went in to get an item box for shipment store pre-charged me for the box when I went to pick it up. The box was three times as big as it needed to be so I said never mind the box take it off my bill. I'll package it at home. They said absolutely no refunds or returns even though I never took the box out of the store. It was untaped and not used. The store manager and store owner refused to take it off the bill, even though it was not used was not taken out of the store and completely reusable for anyone else but the owner and the manager both yelled no returns no refunds and asked me to leave the store so I left the box in the store. I took my item home and called UPS. They said they couldn't do anything. The stores are independently owned and refused to help so I had to go to the credit card company and had them take it off my bill I will never ever ever use UPS on El Cajon Blvd. and Baltimore in La Mesa horrible horrible customer service. they charged me $43 and change for the box. read more

With rare exception, this is the only UPS store I go to in San Diego. I drive about 40 minutes round trip from the city. Why? Great customer service and the trust they've earned. I've used a UPS in Texas for 16 years. But it was this UPS that asked if I had AAA or AARP membership so they could give me a discount. It's a huge savings in some cases. Today, Steven saved me $16 on an overnight package by applying that discount. (So be sure to ask if you have those memberships.) The other thing this UPS does that the Texas store doesn't is provide a receipt for USPS packages. Just another Steven compliment: When they started using the automated Amazon return station, I just wasn't comfortable using it. Steven very nicely told me that he would help me with the returns. I've since learned how to use it and it's truly more convenient. I still highly recommend this UPS. Worth the trip. read more

Literally the best UPS store I've ever been to. I'm always greeted with nice smiles and the people who work there are so friendly and efficient. Nothing has ever been lost or stolen and everything gets to where it needs to be. They tape things up if you forget and they never make you feel bad. So far, so good. I've been going to the Navajo store for a really long time. They are really screwing up lately, so I've switched to this location for Amazon returns. Time will tell, on how this goes long term. Super unfriendly clerk on my visit, but my returns made it back, and that's the whole point. Parking is not the best, at all. We will see. I hope this place works out. It's closer to me than the Navajo location, so that's another plus. Fingers crossed for a great long term, successful relationship. Update: I've been several times, there is always a long line. It moves quickly but customer service is awful and been a really negative experience every time I've gone. The clerks are really sour and clearly don't want to be there. At least they aren't stealing my Amazon returns like the Navajo location. I have not needed to return a lot at once yet, but it will be a nightmare because they only have two close parking spots, and limited space inside to wait. You will be standing out in the heat sweating your tail off, holding a heavy package. I like the food next door, that is the main reason I still use this spot. Eh. Very underwhelming. read more

I'm currently here and the guy that's attending me "Allen " is taking wayyy longer than the first time he faxed my paper and gave me attitude when I came back because they didn't receive it. I've been using this UPS store for about a year and a half and I have always had a consistently pleasant experience. Everyone who works here is polite, knowledgeable and helpful. The line builds sometimes, but they're efficient and keep it moving. Their prices are also reasonable. Parking is easy and they're convenient located right off the freeway, the store is small and only holds a handful of people, but the short wait times make it livable.
