It's super hard to find an office supply anymore! This location is close so I stopped by. I needed acrylic stands for signs, they had 4 boxes so I grabbed them. I got home and 1 box was used all scratched up and instead of 4 stands inside the box someone swapped out a different sign inside. This was frustrating because it meant another trip to the store. They really need to check when people return items and not restock it at full price $29.99. I understand it's not the fault of the people who work there but they really need to check returns. Because this is a waste of time & gas for anyone. My first trip out was great the workers were very helpful and it was a fast check out. The return trip took so long, only 1 cashier and 5 people in line and 4 of them were returns, and it took a lot longer not sure why ‍. The cashier didn't really care why I brought it back but did mark it with a sticker that read damaged sold as is (or something to that effect). So they were clearly putting it back on the shelf. I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding my recent printing order. 6/18/2026 I spent a significant amount of time preparing and submitting my banner and business card files for production, only to arrive for pickup and discover that the order had not even been submitted or started. They require that you pay upfront for all services prior , in which I did . No one notified me of any issues , leaving me completely unprepared for an important event this Saturday. This situation has caused me considerable inconvenience, wasted valuable time, and created unnecessary stress. I rearranged my schedule, invested hours in preparing the artwork, and relied on your company to complete the project. As I arrived for pick up , the representative states he was just left these projects to do and was not comfortable in handling the job as he hasn't performed those service in awhile , so nothing was done. The manager console the representative by saying this is not your fault... What.. not his fault, then who fault was it ?? Management canceled the job and I, was refunded the cost of the services. I felt helpless and disregarded.  Nothing can make up for the this grave dropping of the ball. I asked several times to make it right and was answered with , "The Job would not be completed today", to come back the next day there would be someone more knowledgeable to help me.  At first I was willing to do just that as I did not want to loose all the work I've done, but quickly remembered, I was to be up North for the most part of the day if not all of the day. The manager did apologize for the situation as he was refunding my money. However, it would have been nice to have been offered to make it right by still completing the job at hand . I visited the Office Depot on Fletcher Parkway to pick up a single card stock print I had submitted earlier for my kids. I figured it would be a quick stop--just one simple print, and I had waited around 45 minutes already. When I approached the print counter, the associate--a bald gentleman with white hair on the sides--was unfortunately not very welcoming. I asked if my order was ready, and when I mentioned the time I had submitted it, he responded with a dismissive snicker and said, "Oh no no, that's not enough time," before walking away without further explanation. The store was nearly empty at the time--just myself and one other customer--so it felt odd that I wasn't offered any clarity or updates. I waited a few more minutes, then politely asked again when my print would be ready. His response was curt: "The employee who will help you is on break. Okay?!" When I asked when the break would be over, I received no response. Shortly after, the other employee returned from break and, to my surprise, printed my single copy in under a minute. To the first employee who chose to sit back and disengage: customer service matters. A little courtesy goes a long way. Being dismissive and unhelpful in an almost empty store isn't just unprofessional--it's a missed opportunity to represent your store and team well. read more

I never expect too much from the people who work at OD because I know they aren't paid well. Yesterday (5/7) at 7:10 pm, Chris (Team Lead) reinforced his inaptitude (lack of ability to do a job or skill). I asked for a specific ink for a specific printer (Epson 2850) and immediately he said "more importantly, what kind of ink do you need?". I said I need the ink for an Epson 2850. The other nice older man working at the check out said - "is it ink or laser jet" and I figured out it was ink jet. Chris went searching for the ink. I needed in his system and in the store, but couldn't find it. He was very rude and condescending from the very beginning. (Obviously loves his job!). When he gave up saying "well, I can't find it in my system" - I told him I would just go somewhere else. I walked out the door and searched it up on my phone and found the exact ink I needed for that printer. I walked back in and told him - "here it is, all I had to do was Google it. Seems like you could've googled it". Instead of admitting that he was not able to find it-and saying something that could've repaired this encounter, he just continued to be rude and condescending, acting as if the customer is always at fault. I gave 2 stars for the nice gentleman who was working the checkout. I told Chris I was going to write a review and he said he would just respond with saying that I didn't know what I was talking about or I didn't know what I wanted. Every single employee on the Saturday morning shift has been ABOVE and BEYOND HELPFUL, they've exceeded my expectations and I'm so grateful and will always bring my business to Office Depot in La Mesa. I needed a print job for a family member's memorial programs, I went to Staples and didn't have a great experience, so I thought I'd try Office Depot and Nick and Mark in print services helped with clear instructions to make my print project better and showed me grace. Nick, print manager is extremely difficult to talk with and has insufficient customer service and professional abilities to be in a supervising role. I ordered brochures same day for an event, he told me that he couldn't make them because my PayPal was declined. I was looking at my PayPal and told him I saw it went through - Office Depot called days later saying my order was ready. The brochures came back folded off and looking horrible. I called and he said they don't guarantee the folds. I asked if this was posted anywhere and he said no. I then asked to speak with the general manager and he told me it was illegal for him to connect me and I would have to come in. He always has an attitude and when you try to ask for help, he will tell you just read the instructions, and then the person at the register has the same attitude as well. Went into the store looking for to buy a nice comfortable gaming chair. I was in the furniture section for about 15 minutes all of the associates had seen me in there with my son but not one person came up to me and asked if I need help instead I received a lot of side eye views. The Romans had a design for a military camp that they used wherever they were so that the troops could slap it up before nightfall and be safe, everyone knowing what their part of it was. Office Depot is the same good principle -- you know where the stuff is pretty much before you get there. This store was neat and clean and the people friendly and efficient. I needed to copy and print an old photograph on a Sunday morning when the majority of print places are closed. I went to Staples first at their 9am opening time and they told me it would take 1 day to copy my photograph because they had back orders. I came here to Office Depot to catch their 10am opening and was assisted by an extremely friendly and helpful employee (Aya?). She took the time to ask about which type of paper I wanted and offered to print them both if I wanted to compare. The entire service cost just $5 and was less than 10 min. Thank you! read more

My first review on Office Depot wasn't good, however now days, things have changed, as we only have about two office supply stores locally. I find both good to visit, and if you signup and subscribe you get great offers sent to you weekly. You can also find great deals if you just drop buy, depending where you go. Local is good as you have the option of returning an item easily if you don't like your purchase. My last purchase there was a multifunction laser printer at a fair price and it has turned out to be the best MF printer I have ever owned. I recommend Office Depot or Staples. read more

I normally come here just for printing but I have also made a few purchases and everything is good. The store isn't huge but has what you need. I have purchased some office supplies here for my home desk and got all that I wanted and needed. I have also come many times to have items printed. It is super easy to just email the store what you are getting printed and they will print it right away for you. I always have just 1 or 2 page items that need to be printed so I'm in and out in just a couple of minutes. Recently I used their drive up service to purchase a new keyboard and mouse set and it was super easy. I picked out my item online and paid for it. The next day I went to the store, pressed a button in my order email saying I was there and in under a minute my items were brought out to me and I was on my way. It was a very simple. Overall, everything here is good and I am content and will continue to come for my limited needs. read more

Well...if you seen one Office Depot/Max then you've seen them all but not all of them have great customer service like this one in Mesa CA.I stopped in to get some photo prints for a family picture collage I am putting together for a friend & the wait was reasonable but the customer service I received from Christina was FIRST CLASS!!! I actually enjoyed watching her multitask with 3 other customers & me. She did an awesome job taking care of everyone's needs even the negative unhappy customers. Online delivery - for Office Depot main entity. Horrible experience! The problem is both with Office Depot main entity itself, and the delivery company they use. THE SITUATION - First order was delivered to some other address (not ours) and the delivery company did not get an ID of the signer, the last name of the signer, or any verification that the signer was actually the purchaser - therefore someone, somewhere, got our order for free, ante delivery company has not way to track it since they believe they delivered it to our address, but they did not. Second delivery attempt, delivery company could not get in the main gate of our complex, even though we provided the gate code, so they labeled it "un-deliverable", but it really was not, because they supposedly got in the gate the first time when they delivered it to the wrong address. To get the order delivery processed again, we had to jump through major hurdles and we now need to again provide credit card info, and re-schedule the delivery, with the same delivery company. CONCLUSION - We are done with Office Depot, and moving on to Staples or some other office supply store that cares about their customers, and has better processes in place. read more

I went there for printing up four pages. I walked and one guy was being helped. With two guys at counter. After the customer walked away.... I walked up. I said Hello and one walked away and a tall fellow was still there. He did not acknowledge me. I waited a couple minutes. Then the guy goes to other side to talk to two other workers! I'm still waiting for help! I turn to my partner and said look they are all ignoring us! Finally... I raise my voice and the tall guy says.... Did u check in? I say no .. because I didn't know? Well? Check in! By this time I'm upset! I check in and tell Nicolas what I need he tells me to email what I need printed. I do that ... still waiting as he turns to talk to his buddies ... I yell out ok I'm done. I had issues with the email going through. Big guy Nicolas says nope didn't get it ! He walks away to go fill other online orders ... still I'm the only one there ! My partner starts getting upset! She tells him we are done can u check to see if u got it! His back turn to us ignores us! He says still ignoring us! I have others to help ! My partner states we are here ! No one is here ! He says just because u don't see them doesn't mean we don't have orders to fill! He was very rude! Not customer friendly ! I finally get the four page's friendly. I would suggest that the Manager have a huddle meeting and go over how it's important to be above on beyond friendly and say hello and acknowledge the customer. Also explain the process of checking in! Because the week before I was there ... I had a young man with dark hair and young lady super sweet and nice help me even shrunk my vaccine card for me ! She volunteers in Healthcare and I'm in healthcare... totally friendly! I give them two 5 stars but this guy Nicolas terrible! It's always annoying having to get stuff printed but he was so helpful that I ended up getting more stuff printed then I really needed. I got new menus for the bar and we are so excited. Decided to stop by this location to do a quick USPS drop off. I already had my own label. I just needed to tape it on. I approached the copy and print center and stood there for 11 mins because I wasn't even acknowledged by the girl in the print center. She made eye contact with me many times while she was helping the customer in front of me but never once said a word. Not even a simple "hello, I'll be with you in a moment. " nothing at all. I continued to wait patiently. 2 other customers got in line behind me and she didn't even greet them either. Finally, 12 minutes later she looks at me and says "Hi what did you want?" I told her I needed shipping services. She asked me if I've ever shipped there before. I told her I have but from a different location. She told me to go to the computer. I walked over and just sat there with my package on the counter and she turns the computer around. I tell her "I already have a label. I just need to stick it on" she says "Oh you have to get all that stuff over there (as her hand is in the air pointing in a direction on the side of the store.) As if I'm supposed to know where she's referring to. I already told her it was my first time at this location. I told her, "sorry I've never been her before so I don't know where the stuff is" I finally walk away and find the stuff. Another girl entered the copy center and as she walked by I asked her if I could use some tape. She completely ignored me and started talking to the other employee. I just sat there with my stuff on the counter and waited. I tried getting the other girls attention again and was unsuccessful. She finally walked to me and I was able to ask her for tape. She told me "when you're done just put your package in the blue bin (again pointed to a bin on the floor.) Overall, I hoped I'd be in an out per usual within 10 minutes tops. Ended up spending 22 mins in here. 11 minutes waiting to be acknowledged. Their lack of customer service is very disappointing. I will not return. read more

I went in and they said they couldn't help me but I could print my invitations myself on their copier. Now it's 30 minutes later and they still have not bothered to contact me and I'm even still in the store. I see people coming in the store for the last 10 to 15 minutes and even taken care of those folks and all I needed was a single lamination I don't believe that would be asking too much. The end of a hellish shopping night. 1st stop: IKEA. Desks. No keyboard pullouts, except a cheesy $10 add on. Few desks with drawers. Most drawers had inexplicable dust-collecting cut outs. 2nd Stop: Staples, La Mesa. My second Staples of the day. Looking for a desk out of stock at first Staples. La Mesa only had a couple of desks; guess people buy those online.Yargh. 3rd Stop: Office Depot. La Mesa. Compared to the others, the desk selection was vast. The clouds parted and the sunlight beamed in. Desks with drawers! Keyboard trays! Cubbies! Sales! Got a desk for $179, 3 drawers plus a place for the computer. Looks like a respectable piece of furniture, too. Then I got a bunch of accessories I needed so I don't die while I work. Like a keyboard, and foot rest, and a monitor. I'm a writer and I have carpal tunnel and I have to have a good set up, or my husband has to hear me complain, so he wanted to get this DONE and done. Plus, our 5 year old was along, testing office chairs and only complaining a little bit (office supply places should sell a couple of toys). That's when Shae (not sure if I spelled it right) swooped in,a paper clip halo floating above her head (not really, people), the Office Depot Angel of Mercy. Shae is that person your grandparents reminisce about when they talk about Customer Service in the Good Old Days, when People Still Cared. Shae asked what we needed, led us to every single item, offered advice on quality and sales, and took us to the register. Shae radioed for someone to get the desk and got no response or a slow response, so what'd she do? Stand around? Nope. She got the desk herself. The monitor we wanted was out of stock, so she offered to cut us a good deal on the display model. Meanwhile, the cashier wondered what the sku was on the desk and the monitor and held up the register waiting for the stuff to arrive. Luckily no one was in line. Finally, the cashier dispatched another guy to get the sku. I saw the guy going off in a different direction so I went to find Shae and get the sku ticket. I saw Shae disassembling the monitor herself and radioing in the sku to the cashier. Finally the guy who was sent to get the sku wandered by and asked which desk we'd wanted, and we pointed out Shae already had it on her dolly. Basically, Shae should be the retail trainer of all the Office Depot people everywhere. If the Office Depot CEO came as the Undercover Boss, he would probably make her the VP of something. She might be too good. I think the others let her do all the work. read more
