Enrolled my 4 year old girl after being recommended from former students. Class was over-full, and while the instructors were outgoing and playful, the class structure left much to be desired. Too many kids in a circuit caused a huge waiting line several times, and the attention per kid time was minimal at best. There were 10 kids for two instructors, and instead of splitting the group into two smaller groups, they kept them together, which minimized even more time. Add to that the trampoline time was terribly organized, with one child going at a time while nine waited their turn, and you can see why we quit the program within two months. The potential is there. They have a great space and energetic coaches. They just need to better plan out their class and timing so kids can get a maximum workout in the short time they are there (speaking only from experience of the pre-k class). I don't pay the fees so my kid can sit half the class. read more

My 4.5 year old daughter has been coming her for 3 years. Alex has been her teacher during that time until we had to change days / times. He is incredible not to mention hilarious. He pushes her in the best way possible and encourages focus which she is desperately lacking (rightly so as she is a toddler). I really like everyone here and we tend to do the Friday evening events which my daughter loves as well. I can't imagine us ever leaving unless my daughter loses interest in gymnastics which I don't see happening anytime soon. Great establishment for the kiddos. read more

My son really enjoyed coming here and connected with Teacher Thayer and also with Kelly when she would cover for Thayer. Both teachers were always engaged with him during class and took their time with all the kids. The teacher that took Thayer's place seems to rush through each activity in class and doesn't take her time with the kids the way the other teachers did. We were sad to cancel our membership since our son really enjoyed it before the new teacher. We'll be going back to My Gym even if it's a further drive for us. I had my son's 4th birthday here and I cannot recommend Fun & Fit more highly. They did everything! The instructors--Ariana, Austin and Kelly--were EXCELLENT. I dropped off the decorations a day before and they put everything up (l bought extra--the package does include decorations). The instructors occupied 17 kids for two hours (including serving food and cake). The cost was extremely reasonable compared to the other venues we looked at. The kids were all happy and engaged. The parents got to relax and not have to chase their kids around for two hours (which is most of the other parties we've been to). It was a great experience. read more

Both my kids attend Fun and Fit Gymnastics. Typically, I usually wait a couple months to get the full experience before I write a review about a place. My kids have been here for over a year now, and I'm late in sharing my feelings and thoughts. So here I am. My kids enjoy Fun and Fit. The coaches are absolutely amazing and ALWAYS full of energy! They are supportive and have never put any pressure on my kids to move up, yet they strive for each child to succeed. In addition, the gym has a non-competitive philosophy, allowing each child to grow and only compete with themselves. We are extremely disappointed with this place and the guy who handles the phones. Our daughter was on the waiting list for a month for one of the gymnastics classes, and we were initially very happy when we received an email on Monday, November 1 notifying us that a spot had opened up in the four year old class that we had been waiting for. Being the busy full-time working mom with two kids in a demanding job that had required a couple late nights at the office, we did not check and receive the email until Wednesday morning (Barely less than two days after receiving the email). When we called to confirm enrollment, the guy who answered the phone said that the spot was not available anymore, and said that we had to call to confirm within 24 hours of receiving the email. NOWHERE in the email did it state this. Not only did he tell us this in a very rude manner, but then said that our daughter had to move back down to the bottom of waiting list (not the top!). How does that make any sense? Whoever is running this business needs to change how they treat new potential customers, and the receptionist needs to take a class in customer service. We should've actually checked the Yelp reviews on this place first before signing up for the class anyways - glad this all happened now because we wouldn't want to send our child to a place that smells awful and has condescending instructors anyways (based on recent reviews). Please go elsewhere for kids gymnastics classes. read more

I visited here for a party and then tried two audit classes to see if my child would like it. Both times I was incredibly disappointed by the staff. Even at the bday party they seemed annoyed and were constantly berating children for using the equipment. I mean - good Luck throwing a bday party for a 3 year old and expect the guest kids NOT to jump on the trampolines right ? When I came for the audits the male teacher was snarky and unfriendly The front desk was confused about things and at times were all in the back room. I give them two stars because they allowed me to come back for a second try after I was so put off by the first teacher and his attitude. However the second class was still below what i expected. We arrived at Fun & Fit Gymnastics on Tuesday March 26 about 10 minutes before class began. We were on the waitlist, so we made sure to get there before class began. I walked in, spoke to who I later learn was the office manager. I explained we were there for the 2 o'clock class and we were 5th on the waitlist and she quickly with a sort of attitude replied "you will not be able to join the class it's full, we have another class tomorrow at 2:15 we added a second instructor you can join that class" I was thrown off by her, as a matter of fact response. I have been on the waitlist before and had no trouble at all joining classes. So when I got such a firm response I was a little surprised. I said "Can I hang out and wait if someone drops the class? doesn't show up?" I was already there my two year old daughter was ready and excited to start class, her 3 year old cousin was meeting us there also. And isn't that the way waitlists work? I went to sit in the waiting area my daughter was playing with the blocks. The instructor came out clipboard in hand, she was really nice greeted what I could only imagine were her past students, by name. I was really impressed she remembered names shows she enjoys what she does. My daughter got up stood in front of the instructor wondering what was on her clipboard. Instructor very nicely greeted her and asked for her name I told her her name, she looked for my daughters name on her rooster, I explained we were on the waitlist she said oh ok and penciled her name into the rooster. We then went inside the gym area. After a few minutes the instructor informs me that the office manager made an exception for us by letting us go onto the floor and handed me the waiver to fill out. My sister and her daughter were about 5 minutes late they told her the same thing they told me"class is full, come back tomorrow" my niece was upset she couldn't join us on the floor she said "she is strong today" after my sister explained they had to come back tomorrow. I went to the instructor to ask if my niece could join us, she very nicely said she was ok with her joining us since there wasn't too many kids on the floor. My sister signed the waiver and came to join us. The class was so much fun we ALL had a great time. The instructor was excellent very attentive to the kids and just great overall. Class ended my sister was unsure if she made it into the class, I thought I made it since they penciled my daughters name in. We were unsure so we went to ask. A different girl was at the front desk, my sister asked if they made it into the class the girl then responded no, but at the same time turning to the office manager for reassurance. The office manager said no from the other room, I then asked if my daughter had made it, the girl again not really knowing what was going on kept turning her head back to ask the office manager, who never came out to talk to us directly. They said come back tomorrow, basically reassured us there was going to be a second instructor and we could definitely add to that class. The whole experience was very weird, i felt unwelcomed and not wanted in their class. But i still gave them the benefit of the doubt and I thought maybe because of the miscommunication they were annoyed by all of our questions, but all we wanted was make sure we got the right information. We came back the next day, Alex was at the front desk this time. I explained the situation from the previous day, he was rude and seemed annoyed by me, he said we wouldn't be able to join the class, I tried to explain that the office manager told us there was going to be a second instructor and we should come back today. All he kept saying was basically no with a superior, snarky attitude. He said there were other classes available but were "double the price" with a superior tone of voice, assuming we couldn't afford it and adding to those clases was out of question. I honestly felt like he was being racist, I couldn't find any other reason as to why he was treating us this way. We told the kids we were leaving and they began crying, it broke my heart they were so excited for their class. I was so upset that they led us to believe we were going to be able to join the class only to come back the next day waste our time, make our kids cry and make us feel even more unwelcome and humiliated. I just can't help but feel that it was a race issue and we got mistreated because of the color of our skin. I am really hoping and keep trying to convince myself that it wasn't the case. That maybe we just annoyed them with all of our questions. But they kept giving us run around answers, we just wanted clear answI'm still hoping they didn't let us in the class because they were truly full and couldn't make exceptions not because of the color of our skin. But their attitude towards us leads me to believe it is a race issue and maybe if we were a different color we would've been treated differently. read more

If you want a place that makes gymnastics fun while inspiring kids to be their best...this is the place. Our kids have been going there since our oldest was 8 (she's almost 15 now). Our kids have experienced a variety of teachers there and not a bad one in the bunch. Many were former and current students. The best part is the positive attitude of the teachers. It's not a place to train professional gymnasts but most kids aren't on that path anyway. This place develops confidence and stresses fitness. The owner, Jeff, practices what he preaches and cares very much about the kids. Teacher Shawn is about as amazing as he can be: empowering, an example of fitness, and uses humor to make his points memorable and the class fun. This place lives up to its name: Fun and Fit. Wow, lots of five stars for this place! how surprising! i have no experience with birthday parties here, but my daughter was enrolled in gymnastics classes via parks & rec for 2 semesters, which I have been told by staff is "different" than signing up directly with the gym. I take their word, however, it was...so lame! This is more like a "my gym" than a real gymnastics studio. Great for toddlers to get them moving. I bet the'd have a lot of fun. If you have an older children, like 5, I would look at the other gym in Burbank. Alex is the only teacher there worth his salt. The others are total babysitters! I couldn't imagine paying $100 a month for this place. My daughter didn't learn anything there, though she did get a good workout. Alex shouts directions loudly & quickly and the children do their best to follow his instructions, though i can't say they learn a lot. They do get a good work out though! Other instructors I saw were totally ineffective: weak and giggly and young. There are many wild children in the classes that don't listen to directions, and the instructors struggle with getting them to listen and do what's asked. It's a good place to start, but most people move on after awhile. read more

Both of my daughters started out at fun fit. My youngest started at 14 months old. Over several years of classes here they both developed very strong bodies and a love for gymnastics. I think the non competetive environment is wonderful for the younger kids and for those looking to simply get strong and develop their bodies. My oldest daughter has since moved to a competitive gym is moving up very quickly due to her strong body. My youngest has turned to ballet and is on a dance team at the age of 5..again her strong body from doing fun and fit has opened the door for her. My daughter has taken classes here for several years. If your child wants a non-competitive environment to learn gymnastics this is a great place. It's clean and the majority of the staff are terrific. There is one employee that is often extremely rude, however Jose, Danielle, Cody, Elisa and Erica are all amazing ! I have held two of my daughter's birthday parties here over the years. It's one of the best places to have a party. The staff handles most of the details during the party, including cleanup and helping you load your car. You just need to bring the cake, food, candles and goody bags. I struggled with another kid's gym not being appropriate for my son who was developing at his own pace, but the freedom of the tumbling tots class here was just the ticket. The facility is amazing, and they are very kind to children who need to go at their own speed. Now my son is in an older class with his peers, and he is excelling! I'm in tears! My review for this business is for both party planning and toddler gym class: My son has been attending class for nearly half a year. I gave the business two stars because in comparison to other kids gym it's large. There's plenty of space for a toddler to run and equipment to be explored. However, he never really warmed up to the teacher. We had teacher Tami, she rarely had any interaction with him. She never managed to gain his trust. At most she would say hi to him, and that was like a shocker! There was no variation to the class. It was pretty much the same obstacle course each time, the same warm up and the same alphabet song to end class. My son was definitely not compelled to join in. Also, the place is not pleasent to the eye, it looks old and kinda smelly! They have rugs and ask for kids to go bearfoot but yet the teacher is always wearing shoes inside the space. Pretty much all other gyms are shoe free! We're now enrolled in Gymboree and its definitely a better fit for my son. His teacher has great charisma and is very fun! Although it's smaller he definitely loves the equipment which is switched out every few weeks. Class has way more interaction and keeps him entertained! Happy baby, happy momma! Should of cancelled earlier!! In regards to party planning, they have the most inconvenient policy!!! I have visited and contacted several spaces while planning this upcoming birthday as well as last year, so I know this ain't right! I visited Gymboree, Maddie's Playhouse, the tree house, my gym, we rock the spectrum, lalas Playland, kids korner, peek-a-boo ... phew!!! But anyways i was completely appalled by their policy of choosing a time slot. I was hoping to have my sons birthday party on a Sunday from 2 to 5pm. I called to ask for availability and the lady who answered told me it wasn't available because the first slot of 12 to 2pm wasn't taken yet. I'm thinking so??? She proceeds to tell me that the only time available is 12:30 to 3:30pm. I explained to her that a few of my family members attend church which means noon is too early. Therefore i am only interested in 2pm and on. She explained that time won't be available until they find someone to take the 12 pm slot. They don't offer evening slots unless earlier slots are reserved. Ridiculous!!! What's most upsetting is that she said my only choice is to call on a daily basis and ask if the morning has already been booked.... really??? Wow, just wow. Sure, I have nothing better to do than to call you everyday. I mean she could of atleast offered to take my number and call once it's available! This policy is ridiculous as it is but to further burden your customer by asking them to call daily is appalling!! So, I was thinking: this can't be right?! She's probably new. She then ends up connecting me to her manager since I have a hard time believing her lol the manager Jose, tells me that she's right. Apparently they don't offer the later slots because that would mean that their employees would have to go home and then return for the evening event! Wow ... again! You shouldn't be offering party services fun and fit!!! All other places manage to find a work around!! Seriously, I'm a small business owner and I can come up with a few solutions right of the bat. OK, my first ever review on Yelp. **I just saw that I am posting under my husband who uses Yelp, so I quick logged in to edit-- This is my first review, but he has reviewed other things. I never took the time to write a review, but Fun n' Fit is worth it. Helpful information: I live in Burbank and have two children who attend classes- boy, age 6 and girl, age 3. My son has taken classes since he was 3 and my daughter since she was 1. I have done birthday parties at Fun n' Fit. My kids have attended the day camps, the parks and recs program classes, the party nights, and the open gyms. We have had sicknesses and surgeries that required extended absences. There is so much to review, but let me start by saying that one of the major reasons I stay at Fun n' Fit is the quality of the instructors. They like children and working with children. They make the kids feel good and encourage them to achieve. They care about safety and make it a priority, always. They design age appropriate programs, and kids are encouraged to move through the skill sets, graduating to a new set of skills when they have achieved mastery. The students and parents can track skills with a poster and stars, which are provided by the instructors. Every instructor knows his or her students and keeps careful track of the students' strengths and weaknesses. We have worked with many of the teachers there including Alex, Codi, Janelle, Elyssa, Danielle, Jaime, Courtney and Shawn. My kids love them all, and as many other reviewers have mentioned, Alex is as good as they say. Party nights are awesome, and the kids have a great time in a safe and structured environment. The open gyms are a great opportunity to choose the skill you personally want to work on, and my kids love it. It is run smoothly, safely and efficiently. They get a lot in during that hour and a half. The day camps are also structured, safe and fun. The kids do a variety of activities, and the instructors give them tons of attention with plenty of staff on hand to keep a close eye on the kids. The staff told me after every session what my son ate and did not eat from his lunch! They kept encouraging my son to eat the healthy foods first and would always make sure he ate well. The care of the staff is always above and beyond. The parks and recs program is excellent for the value, and it is not just a sub-par class that is OK for the money. I would do it more often if it was at a better time. My son enjoyed it and had the same great teachers and did the same focused gymnastics as he did in his regular Fun n' Fit classes. The birthday parties are oh-so-convenient and FUN!!! EVERY, SINGLE time I have a party there, my friends from LA say they WISH they had a gym like this for their kids. There is a lot to say about the parties, but suffice it to say that as a parent, it could not be easier, and the kids LOVE it! Highly Recommend! (Also, I have had parties with a WIDE age range of children, and the staff made it fun for toddlers and big kids! It's awesome.) Fun n' Fit is EXCELLENT about honoring make-ups and giving parents opportunities to use the make-ups. I have sat on the phone and stood at the desk for long periods of time while the staff patiently helped me figure out my own crazy scheduling- always, always, helping me find what worked best for me and my family. If we ever wanted to change classes, the staff would insist that we do a free trial to make sure we liked the class, even though we were members and knew most of the teachers. Fun n' Fit really is concerned about the experience the child has above all else. I think Fun n' Fit is worth every penny we have spent over the years. The gym is clean and safe, and the instructors really care about the kids. We love Fun & Fit for many reasons, but the biggest one: teacher, Alex G. We've been sending our son there since he was 2 (he's 5 1/2 now) and he's been training with Alex since day one. We've tried their other teachers, and they're all great. But Alex is our favorite. We trust him wholeheartedly and appreciate his approach. I don't agree with the negative reviews singling Alex out. Perhaps those parents don't appreciate his approach to teaching. We've never found him abrasive or insensitive. Quite the opposite. Is he assertive? Yes. But he's also very kind and great with kids. Fact is they LEARN with him and are SAFE. Isn't that the point? Truth is Alex is the reason we keep sending our son to Fun & Fit. He's already doing flips, cartwheels and handstands at 5!!! My son went to fun and fit for about a year. He also frequented the monthly Friday night drop off play time. I'm aghast at the NEGLIGENCE that occurred. I noticed when I dropped him off at this Halloween night that there were more kids then normal. I was assured that all was well and they were in their correct ratio of children to teacher. When I returned to pick up my son he was standing at the door leaving, barefoot out into the darkness of the night. There were a few parents scurrying putting their kids shoes on focused on their own kids. All the instructors were inside OBLIVIOUS to my son wondering off. I thank God I arrived when I did and my son didn't make it to the street. I am so upset at the GROSS NEGLIGENCE that my 4 YEAR OLD SON received. I love this place. It is kid friendly and you can also take advanced classes for older children. They have young staff who are great with the kids! My daughter loves her class and always leaves wanting to come back! I decided to enroll her when she started to flip in my house! Her teacher, Nicole, is super energetic and takes her time getting to know our family! She is very personable and tells me all the time how well my daughter is doing. I am never disappointed when I watch her teach! I also love how most of the Instructors have gymnastic backgrounds. They love to show off their skills when they have the opportunity. This place is AMAZING!!!!!! I had my daughter's 4th Birthday here yesterday and it was such an extraordinary experience! They literally do EVERYTHING!!!! They provide everything (including decorations cups, plates,and eating utensils) except food. I bought my own decorations way before and they had it set up for me by the time I got there. They even went the extra mile and helped walk things back and forth to my car. All of the kids were having a blast, and all of the activities were all planned out in advance, so definitely more structure than your typical run around and go wild birthday party. My child can do that at recess. This was something new and fresh. The parents got to just kick back and mingle because the kids were in very capable hands and were fully engaged the entire time. To a foam pit fed from a slide, to trampolines galore, to balance beams and swinging ropes- this place had it all! The two young ladies running the party were so awesome and so sweet and genuinely enjoyed being around the kids. We were invited to a birthday party here and the lady Kelly was not friendly at all and should not be working with children who are anywhere in the spectrum. My two children 3&5 came and my 5 year old (on the spectrum) was emotional and overly sensitive preferred playing alone and she said because she is 5, she is too old to play on her own, even with me with her. She said she either needs to be in the group because she's 5, or she needs to be in the other side of the red line (not playing at all). But she said my 3 year old could play independently with me by her side. I asked why I couldn't watch both my kids and she said it is 1 kid per adult (which I was never told) PLUS even if we had another adult she said my 5 year old is too old and needs to be in the group. I feel like this is not only discrimination against children in the spectrum, but this woman should not be working with children. She was unkind and rude. We left and walked out immediately and I was crying because my heart hurt so bad that my child could not participate independently. read more

I really like this place for my 6 year old daughter. It is such a good work out and she has learned a lot in the short time she has been a student here. The instructors are very good at keeping an eye on all the kids in each class which I think is very important. We have been to other gyms where I can see it is difficult for the coaches to keep an eye on all the kids in each class. There make up policy is super fair and I even use them towards camps. Where do I begin? Great classes for my son and the instructors are amazingly talented and patient. Heard about the boys progressive class from another parents and my son was interested. The instructor, Courtney Foote, is patient and talented with the kids. I was told her works for the Clippers so his resume is substantial. My son comes home bragging about new moves that he learned. I Just had my daughters 8th birthday party here and would not again. I only choose this place because my son had taken classes through burbank parks and recreation a few years back and we liked the place. The party room is tight for guest. Only good for kids not adults. The kids eating time and cake time at the end is rushed because you have to clean up as they are eating to get out on time. We had 2 women instructors helping at the party, one was great and the other was rude and not nice to my guest her name is Kelly. We had several kids on the spectrum at the party including my son plus kids from 1 to 10 years old. She made one of my guest cry (she felt bad her daughter could not participate) because she would not let her daughter who is 5 play Independently with adult supervision because she had to be in the instructors group with all the 5 plus kids or stay out of the gym area. I know there's rules but every kid is different regardless if they are on the spectrum (Autism) or not. Not all kids want to play in a group and if they are be watched by there parents who cares what age they are. I paid for my guest to have good time. Kelly offended several of my guest by her bad attitude and rudeness. She should not be around children let alone at a party. She only stopped the attitude after I gave it back to her and told her I was upset about my guest leaving with her 2 daughters and crying. I only gave 2 stars because my daughter had fun and the one instructor Was great. I would not recommend this place to anyone for a party. I should of saved the money and done my daughters party at home like I normally do. read more

seemed too strict on my 3-year old. Frequent 'time-outs' upset my child, preventing her from having fun.

Initially there was an unreasonable problem while signing up for the class where they insisted on separating my kids instead of allowing to do an intro class together and evaluate their development. I was very frustrated but the president himself called me later that day and handled everything. We had a class today and it went great. Teacher Alex was firm and friendly instructor and kids loved it. After discussing with the teacher we ARE going to separate the kids but it makes total sense to us and it will be for a month just so the youngest can get his share of running around the new space:) Overall very impressed with the facility, organized set up and clean. Very happy. Hope to give it 5 starts later on down the road. read more

We had our kids' fourth birthday party here on the weekend and everyone had a great time, lots of the parents were complimenting us on having found such a great space for the party. The staff (Kelly and Anteneise) put the kids through a bunch of fun activities which they enjoyed, and were happy to have the one or two kids who couldn't sit and listen have free play with their parents' supervision. The decorations were put up and taken down for us, which was awesome. The party room isn't huge - 10 kids and their parents were overflowing, so keep that in mind, but the full service (cake cutting, food serving, etc) was appreciated! read more
