I got my bitties pierced on Tuesday, and was super nervous because I know there's a lot of nerves in that area. Alexa's station is in the back right corner of the tattoo shop. It was very clean and well organized. She was very professional and walked me through the procedure all while calming my nerves by talking to me about my day. When getting pierced, yes, it hurt like a mother, but Alexa's calming demeanor and instructions to inhale and exhale helped tremendously. Yesterday I decided to get a piercing for the Friday the 13th special, I have been going to this location for a couple years now and I've always had a great experience with Alexa. I came in just for a nose piercing and I understand the pressure of the long lines but this new girl (not sure what her name was) seemed to be in a big rush, didn't even bother marking the placement of where the piercing was going to be & just went for it. Once I took a good at it I did not like the placement (it was too high) so I went back to get It to where I would like it. As the customer I have a right to decide what I feel comfortable with. She was very upset & was actually talking shit and saying it was going to look stupid ass fuck. Their was no need for all that. She got paid so the least she could have done was be respectful of my decision. This post was mainly to show her lack of professionalism towards paying customers. read more

Alexa is definitely my go to piercer and she should be yours too. She is absolutely amazing and she has the steadiest hands of all the piercers I've EVER been pierced by. All of the piercings I've gotten done by her have all been smooth and close to painless. (Yes piercings can hurt less if you have a good piercer) I love that she knows what piercings are suitable for your ear anatomy (not every piercing is universal). Got multiple tattoos here a few months ago with a friend of mine. Though the tattoos weren't too bad (one of them I had to get retouched and the other is now blown out), but they charged me $140-150 for all three of my tattoos that varied in size, color, and shading. I'm not trying to read too much into it but one tattoo that is about 3x1.5 in with shading was the shame as my other one that is 1.75x1.75in with zero shading and a minimalist design. I wouldn't be so upset if i didn't hear the pricing for another customer at the same time (same artist as me) ask for multiple designs and be given a total that was $50 less. Again, I'm not trying to read too much into it, but both my friend and I had a similar experience. Honestly if you're not already friends with the artists in this shop just find somewhere else. read more

I came here on July 13 for their Friday the 13th tattoo and piercing special. I got both a tattoo and a piercing. I got a tattoo on my left shoulder, which B-Kid did quickly and to my liking. It did not hurt at all and I was surprised since it was my first tattoo. Cynthia Chan did my piercing, and I got a navel. That hurt quite a bit, but I already knew that prior to coming in and I'm not a big fan of needles. It only hurt for a second and it was just sore afterwards. The line was pretty long, but I got there early with a few friends and they opened up earlier than their actual opening time since they knew a lot of people would come for the special deals. I was one of the few people in the front and it only took about 30 minutes to get both my tattoo and piercing. It was overall a pleasant experience and I'll definitely come back for more. read more

The vibe of the shopping was typical for a tattoo and piercing shop which I found really cool. Although I came in for an ear piercing.. I liked how the tattoo artists still interacted with me and making sure I was getting taken care of while I was waiting for the piercing artist to get finished with the other client she had. I'd like to say thank you to the piercing artist for doing my piercing and thank you to the tattoo artist for taking care of me before I got the piercing done. However the thing I did not grow fond of was how the piercing artist interacted with me. I felt that she didn't want to work with me, I felt that she didn't like doing her job. When she was talking to me and giving me information on the different ear piercings there are and the earrings there are, she would curse and I personally don't find that professional. I do understand that this kind of industry you can dress however you would like, but I don't think it was quite professional of the live ring artist to dress in furry slides, an oversized sweater which probably covered the shorts she was wearing. I just felt that she didn't want to be there or I could be wrong and she did. But I got the vibe of she didn't, and because of this I would not want to come back here for another ear piercing. First experience with her was getting my industrial & I was so scared but thanks to her steady technique & cleanliness it was an awesome experience! Way less painful than i imagined as well as my dermals and conch!! I trust her with any piercing of any kind. My piercings have healed great! I came here on yesterday, Friday the 13th to check out their piercing deals because I had heard a lot about them on social media. As expected Cal State Crew was jam packed with people coming in for $13 and $20 tattoos and the piercings. From my understanding, this time around they raised their prices and in the past they were also doing $13 piercings. The piercings started at $15 for lip, eyebrow, lobe, helix, conch, transverse lobe, tongue, and anti-tragus piercings. The $20 piercings included navel, daith, vertical lip, web/frenulum, surface piercing, and septum. For $25 you could get a forward helix, tragus, rook, or industrial. The following prices included standard jewelry, if you wanted their more premium jewelry or something cute then that would increase the value. I went in looking to get a double helix and I came around 5PM. The line for piercings was not very long, especially when compared to the tattoo line which was around 5 or 6 hours long by that point. I was 11th in the piercing line and my estimated waiting time was supposedly around 5 minutes per person according to the woman making the list (that would be around a 55 minute wait). In all actuality I waited 2 hours before getting pierced which I was totally fine with, I would just recommend taking your phone or something to keep yourself entertained in the meantime. Once it was my time to get my piercings, I headed to the back to meet Alexa. She had a rough idea of what I wanted because of the consent form that was previously filled out, but once I met with her I told her I wanted to get a double helix. She proceeded to marking two dots on my right ear, they were first a little high so I asked her if she could lower them a little and she did. Once I was happy with the markings I laid down and turned my head to the side so she could do her work. My ear was first covered with a paper towel with a hole, that way none of my hair would intervene and any blood would just go on the paper towel instead of my clothing. The actual free hand piercing took less than 2 minutes total and didn't hurt much. Free hand piercing means that she doesn't use forceps to hold the area in place, just her hands. She was very quick and her movements were very smooth. It was probably the smoothest piercing experience I've had so far. The reason why I knocked down two stars is because 1.) No aftercare instructions were given whatsoever and 2.) I really didn't observe any of the standard sterilization routine that I'm accustomed to seeing. The last time I got pierced was at Metropolis Tattoo & Piercing in North Park and Jen (the piercer there) was extremely cautious and took sterilization very seriously. She washed her hands and put on sterile gloves right in front of me. She also showed me all the sterilized tools so I could see that the piercing environment and tools were 100% sterile and safe. I'm sure Alexa had clean and sterile gloves on, but it would have been nice to have seen the routine taken a little more seriously. Another issue I had was the amount of time she had been working. Alexa told me they actually opened the shop an hour earlier (9am) and since she's the only piercer in the shop, that means she worked for a whopping 14 hours during Friday the 13th. Maybe that's why she didn't really dedicate much time to piercing aftercare or the sterilization routine, so I'm going to have to visit the shop in the future when it's not Friday the 13th (even if I do have to pay just a little more for the piercing). Thankfully I've already been pierced a few times so I know how to clean and take care of a piercing, but the least that could have been done is pass out a little sheet with the information. Last but not least, this shop is cash only! Make sure to stop by your bank or a nearby ATM to get cash before you come here, especially on Friday the 13th. I was aware that it was cash only but while I was waiting the woman working the counter later announced that we needed to have the exact change to pay for the piercing. Thankfully there's a lot of shops nearby so it's not difficult to get change, but it would have been nice to know that exact change was needed before hand. Overall I had a good piercing experience but I just wouldn't go to the shop on Friday the 13th again. I'd rather pay just a little more to get that one on one attention from Alexa without feeling rushed to pierce another customer. read more

Alexa uses no crazy clamps and is very gentle throughout the entire process. She walked me through everything and coached my breathing. I couldn't believe the piercing was in so fast. I was in and out in 10 minutes. I have had no pain, swelling, itching, or bleeding since the piercings. I was able to sleep on my stomach the same night. I came in to get my nose ring switched. I asked Alexa for something small. First off she didn't seem happy I was there, didn't wash her hands before gloving, didn't give me options of sizes and didn't offer a mirror after to see if I liked it. Got to my car and hated it bc it was huge on my nose. Ends up being a 16G. Went to a diff shop the next day to have a 20G put in with a much better experience. Also told me to Venmo her with just an emoji and told me to call so n so (another piercers name) if I had problems.
