I do not trust anyone else to do / touch my piercings besides Wael. He's the absolute best, I've gotten my ears, belly, and eyebrow pierced by him and the process from the actual piercing procedure to the healing process has been smooth and painless. He is kind, gentle, and thoroughly answers any questions and concerns you may have. Although he has limited jewelry options, they are all high-quality products. I referred him to my sister who was pierced at Enigma and had been in pain for almost a year from a piercing that wasn't placed correctly and Wael fixed it and is now finally pain-free and can sleep on that ear. My eyebrow piercing was showing signs of infection after being caught on something so I immediately went back to him and he took care of it and cleaned it thoroughly and went back to normal a couple days after. His place is clean and he uses proper hygienic proceses I can't recommend Wael enough, he's THE best. read more

Wael is the absolute G.O.A.T! The first time I went in for nipple piercing and I got both nipples and daiths in both ears!! they healed perfectly (in a week almost) and when I went to get my daiths cleaned after a week, all four piercings looked likes they have been there for years. so I decided to get an eyebrow and industrial added to my collection. The experience is perfect, he is extremely knowledgeable and a good communicator. Everything done is extremely detailed and clean. The healing process? PHENOMENAL. I was scared about the nipples since all I hav read was one painful story after another. I had none of them. No cursing, no pain, no bleeding. I wore anything I wanted. Had my exercises, slept on them etc. You got the picture. I am never going anyone but Wael. I am so lucky that my first time experience with piercings were from Wael's hands and surely the rest will be from him. I got my forward helix and mid cartilage done a few months before coming to SD and they were really infected. My friend suggested Wael and he's been the best since I met him. A very personal man and is always "on call" for his customers. We're in the process of getting my piercings all healed up so I didn't have to take them out and he's done a great job. They're much better now and almost all healed up. I go in for weekly/biweekly cleanings for free (included with the initial cleaning price) and Wael always works around my schedule in a timely manner. He's also a very knowledgeable man and you can tell he knows what he's doing and beyond. Got a naval piercing a few years ago but it never healed right and was always red. Then I got a new job about a year later and had to let it close up. Fast forward 3 more years and I'm in SD visiting and decided to get my naval pierced again. I came here and omggg what a great experience. Wael looked at my old scares and showed me how it was crooked and gave me a possible reason as to why it never healed the first time. My first piercer really fucked me over. Thank goodness for Weal and his expertise. The whole experience was so much less painful than my first time even though he was piercing through some scare tissue idk how he did it so that it wasn't painful. Super clean place, uses hospital grade cleaning. Wael was awesome, and made sure to show himself opening everything in front of us. Gave me a package with stuff to clean my nose with and explained the healing process. He has a large selection of rings and studs to choose from. I will definitely go back here when ready to change it out. Definitely recommend this place! I took this photo about an hour after getting pierced. It wasn't red and minimal bleeding. If you need body piercing, only go here and nowhere else. I had such a pleasant experience getting my second piercing with the owner who is super experienced and has been doing this for 20+ years. He uses needle, not a nail gun which is way more sanitary. I'm so glad I found him and I will definitely come back to him! I was looking to get a nose piercing and I called Wael at Body Art Salon and he was so professional and informative. He explained the pricing on the phone and he was very charismatic. He told me he could fit me in today and so I went. The place is in the corner, you can miss it but as soon as we arrived the establishment was clean and inviting. Wael greeted us right away and took us in. He explained the whole process of the nose piercing with all the types of rings. Clean, professional and super friendly. I've been to other studios and they weren't bad but I didn't know it could be better. I went here on a whim when my preferred piercer couldn't squeeze me in though she was sitting down for 30 mins. Ended up here and I don't regret it. STOP searching - COME TO WAEL!!! Listen up San Diego: Wael is a true professional, with a genuine passion for quality piercing and beautiful jewelry. He's been doing this for years and it shows. It's been 20 years since I had a nose piercing. When I was 22 I had to take out my nose piercing for my job at the time. When I was 16 years old, I got my first nose piercing and it was an horrible experience; in the 90's, anyone could be a piercer. I was left in pain for over a week... it was worse than my hood and nipple piercings. I've been wanting to get my nose pierced again but I was worried I would get the same experience. I now work in orthopedic surgery and two of the RN's I worked with recommended this guy. Today I finally rolled in as a walk in. The gentleman was nice. He was really and I mean REALLY informative. I told him that I came to him because the fact he is a RN. Everything he was telling me regarding his healthcare experience was legit and I felt safe. I told him about my previous experience and he explained why it happened... I was pierced incorrectly. He pierced in an area that made more sense which is on the tip of the crease of my nostril. He sanitized me as if I was going into surgery. I mean he really cared about the area. My piercing was quick, easy and just a pinch of 1 second pain but it was nothing. It's been hour and I have no pain, no soreness and it looks great! Not even red. I will be coming back for my ear piercings and I highly recommend the place. read more

I had been planning to get a nose piercing since December, but i'd always put it off to the side afraid of the worst case scenario. But I'm so happy I decided to get it here by Wael. As soon as my dad and I walked in I could already feel his good energy. He walked my dad and I through each step of the way. Highlighting each type of jewelry, the materials and the importance of cleaning. We really connected with Wael, he was thorough in his communication. After Wael had put in the nose piercing, my dad mentioned the closing of my ear piercings. Wael's wealth of knowledge absolutely shocked, he informed us it actually wasn't closed. I had my septum pierced by Wael 3 years ago, and I'm still recommending his piercing services to friends. He's a retired (?) ICU nurse, so I completely trust his sanitization methods and aftercare instructions. When I was developing a slight infection a couple weeks after my piercing, he helped clean the area and provided me with more antibacterial solution. Throughout the whole experience: pre-, during, and post-piercing, he was welcoming and maintained kindness which I appreciated. His prices may be a little more than other piercing studios in San Diego, but you won't be getting the same commitment to craft/customers anywhere else! read more

I was greeted at the door by a very gentle and sweet dog, and then by Wael who came across as open and kind (in complete contrast to a different shop I was in earlier that day). The atmosphere was clinical, so if you're looking for a *scene* this isn't the place for you. But if you want a real professional with medical knowledge to pierce you or help with an existing piercing, this is where you want to go. My wife got her nose pierced in 3/2000 for her birthday and had complications. As intensive care nurses we did not know there were no license, training or regulation required to practice piercing. As intensive care nurses we saw the need for professional body piercing by trained nurses. We studied the business for 2 1/2 years before we opened body art salon. We studied under professional body piercers. We treat all piercing as a minor operation and safety is our top priority.

Ruth was the piercer I saw, and was laying down on the table with my head turned to the side. i was prepared for the experience to be difficult and unpleasant since it was so stuck. I kid you not, I didn't feel anything ?? genuinely, ruth took out the stuck jewelry then put in two hoops (2 helix piercings but one stuck) and all i felt was her gloves brushing against me, as it normally would. By the time she told me was done I thought oh maybe she forgot the second piercing but sure enough she had taken the stuck stud and put in 2 hoops. TL;DR All I know is Ruth is incredibly gentle and fast ! Definitely coming back!

I'm truly grateful for such a kind and professional redirection-- because the piercing is an uncommon request and very anatomy dependent. I'm really glad my piercer at Enigma, Didier, was able to take their time to not only perform it, but also communicate what he was looking for to be able to do so successfully. Didier talked me through appropriate anatomy requirements for it, gave me a mirror to show how he'd like to position the piercing ideally, discussed jewelery options/possible adjustments to the bar to accommodate healing he'd like to do (if needed), and even mentioned common issues he'd like to avoid that are run into when piercers try to manipulate the area and how such can make the piercing difficult to do/accomplish appropriately. He also thoughtfully kept checking in with me while he was making preparations (sterilizing, PPE, etc.) to make sure to answer any questions and ease any feelings of anxiety. I would absolutely recommend Didier if you're considering a piercing-- he's really knowledgeable and I felt very secure that I made the right decision coming to Enigma because of him.

When my nail technician completed my manicure, she announced, "same!" as if she declared out-loud my powdered pearlescent nails are now magically transformed into the requested nude chrome color. I wish they would've told me upfront that this cannot be done. I would not request for anything out of the basic mani pedi here.

I had been thinking about getting a below the belt piercing for a couple years now. I have visited & spoken with a few different piercing studios around San Diego but never took the plunge. Last week I happened across the Body Art Salon website & I was amazed to see there is an actual R.N. (Registered Nurse) that does the piercing. You see ANYONE can be a piercer because there is NO registration or regulations over the industry. I sent an email & was told there was a FREE consultation with an appointment so I made the appointment for 9/20/16. I saw Wael & we spoke for about an hour or so. He answered all my questions but more importantly gave me A LOT of great information about piercing & the jewelry as well as some horror stories of other people (of course, NO names were ever given). Feeling totally comfortable with everything I said "Lets do it!" About 30 minutes later I was walking out with the piercing & the aftercare products I was wanting (all included in the original price). I did not bleed but a couple very small drops which he said was because he knows the right place to pierce. Because of the quality of jewelry he uses he said that I could expect to be healed in about a week or 2 which was much quicker than any other place I spoke with. I have been waiting to make sure everything was going well, which it totally is (5 days after). I am now nearly fully healed & I am no longer wearing any kind of gauze or blood absorbing material during the day or when I go to bed at night. I will never go anywhere else should I ever get another piercing & I will always recommend Wael & Body Art Salon to family & friends that are interested in any piercing, even a basic first ear piercing. Body Art Salon is top notch. Wael did my Prince Albert piercing almost 6 weeks ago. Initially, I was going to go with another piercing shop but I wanted to try one last "shop" that could do the piercing before I ultimately decided on "the one". I walked into Body Art Salon just to get a feel for the piercer and the shop and walked out with an incredible 4 gauge PA! I immediately felt comfortable with Wael after meeting him. He is a people person (as I am) so I knew he was going to carry out the procedure after speaking with him. Furthermore, Wael is a RN which sealed the deal for me knowing that he has dealt and deals with the human body on a daily basis. Unbeknownst to me, there is a ligament that runs the length of penises which is a place to avoid as well as various veins that need to be avoided when being pierced. On a scale of 1-10 for pain, with 1 being the least painful, my PA experience at Body Art Salon was a 2! After carefully following Waels aftercare advice, I healed in a few days. I am VERY happy with the work that Wael at Body Art Salon performed and would and have gone back since, for other services. If you the reader, happens to be on "the fence" about where to get a body piercing, whether your male or female, do yourself a favor and stop in to see Wael and you WILL not be disappointed! read more

I have to say that I made the right decision by going with the Body Art Salon. I did a lot of research online and made plenty of calls before stopping in the Body Art Salon. The last time I had a piercing was an earlobe piercing at the tender age of 18. Something fascinates me about Prince Albert Piercings and with hopes of adding a little extra stimulation to my female companions, I decided to go with one. I have a low tolerance for pain and was VERY concerned about the amount of pain I would have to endure to get this done. Initially I wanted a female to perform this but after meeting with Wael and speaking with him I knew this was the right choice. On a scale of pain 1-10, with 1 being the least amount of pain and 10 being the most I rate this piercing as a 2. My ear piercing was far worse, if you can believe it. Wael educated me on various veins in my penis to avoid and a ligament that runs down the center of my penis. In short, if one has any doubts about having this procedure done to their manhood.....Body Art Salon has you in GOOD hands...pun intended. read more

Called to schedule an appointment to re-open two lobe piercings on each ear and one new piercing in the middle of my ear and was able to be seen the next day. I am beyond impressed by the quality of the jewelry as well as attention to detail, using different post lengths that best fit my ears. While his services might seem pricey at first glance, Wael treats each piercing like a medical procedure and prioritizes top rate sterilization to prevent infection. I had permanent makeup done on my eyebrows, having had them done many years ago by someone else, the color had faded...I went to the Body Art Salon and had them redone. What I got, was not what I wanted. She tattooed above my existing eyebrow. Now, especially on my right eyebrow, you can see the old discolored one below it. I have not gone back for the touch-up that is included in the original cost, perhaps she could fix this problem, but I am cutting my losses. I am now applying foundation and powder and using an eyebrow pencil to blend my double eyebrows. Please do your research, and think twice about having your face tattooed. read more

Get it done right the first time at Body Art Salon and save yourself a return trip when the inferior jewelry and cleanliness standards at other places mess up your piercings. Not only is he highly professional, he corrected a messed up and infected tragus piercing on my daughter and explained WHY it happened and how the procedure should have been done. She's so attentive and patient and knowledgeable! She answered all my questions and helped to put me at ease, as well as helping me select my first studs for the initial piercing, considering different placements on the earlobe, etc etc. And she made herself available by text for any follow up questions or issues, and set a calendar for me to come in for future adjustments. So I feel very well taken care of. As for the place, the studio is calm and intimate, with fluffy clouds hanging above you while you get pierced just to help keep you relaxed. On top of all that, the prices are reasonable. Highly recommend.

She helped me find the perfect place for it and didn't hurt at all! Just small pinch and smooth sailing from there. You can ask Mija anything and everything.
