I read the reviews before coming here, and let me just say I'm so glad I ignored all the negative Nancy's in this review section! I think it's important to remember this is a small business that cooks fresh food, unlike the chains that come frozen. Definitely try this restaurant and see what they have to offer. Tip of advice to these negative comments: don't go to a restaurant and order something that's NOT on the menu. Who do you think you are, the queen? In addition to people saying a server was unprofessional: they greet you, seat you, and serve you. They're not your entertainment and it's not like these small business have a HR manager on staff to train to this "professional standard" you expect. They did exactly as anyone would expect your server to do. ALSO: this restaurant has about 12 tables so YES a reservation will ALWAYS be priority over a walk in during this situation. If you want an immediate sit down at some big restaurant, choose a chain. Stop holding small business' to the standard of corporate chains. Try this place before you knock it. Service was nice, restaurant was nice, but food was lacking. Boyfriend had some kind of tortellini with ham and I had the bruschetta and minestrone soup. The pasta resembled an O.G. pasta, cheese with a side of pasta. Nothing remarkable. The bruschetta was two pieces of toasted bread and about 5 tomatoes diced up. I was craving tomatoes, so I ate quite a bit of it, but there was still a TON. No other real flavor. The soup was actually very good, buy would have been much better without the cheese on top. My husband and I went here for Valentine's Day. We came there at 7:05 with a reservation, nobody even acknowledged us. They asked us 20 min later if we wanted a table. We ordered shortly after we sat down. From the time we got our salads to the time we got our main course was 65 minutes. We ended up paying at 9:39 PM. Not a single person acknowledged or apologized for the fact that they forgot about us. The waitress kept looking over at our table for over an hour and saw that we had no food. But people that were seated 45 minutes after us, even the table next to us, she served their food half an hour before us. We had to go the host to ask them to check on our food. I called a few weeks after to let the manager know about our service. She just made an excuse about it being busy that night and they had new staff, absolutely no responsibly for the horrible service. The manager remembered us because we sat there for so long but never came up to us that evening. Worst way of spending Valentine's Day and not worth the $111 spent. read more

We had a really delicious dinner here Sunday night. We had the linguine vongole, fettucine with chicken, and saltimbocca. My husband loved the saltimbocca, and my vongole was so good my daughter switched plates with me to eat the 2nd half of it. The service was outstanding, the owner himself was checking on every table to make sure everyone was happy. As other reviewers have mentioned, this isn't the place to get a quick dinner though. So, plan on a relaxing and more slow paced dinner and you'll be good. I loved the family oriented neighborhood feel and ambiance.There were at least 4 tables with babies, and the staff was clearly happy to have them there. Quaint and cozy family run Italian joint tucked away in burbs of Bothell. There are some great things to love about Calabria and some things that really could help elevate the whole experience. They are super friendly, personable, very knowledgeable and certainly aren't serving just the normal Italian classics on a daily basis. They offer specials and even off menu fare for those locals in the know. They are more than happy to offer suggestions and of course wine pairings. After settling on sharing some calamari to kick things off we ordered away. There were 5 of us in the group and we all ordered completely different dishes including veal, pasta, chicken, seafood...a little bit of everything. Their Calamari Affogati is sautéed squid with Marinara sauce, garlic, red pepper flakes and white wine. It was a decent dish and had good heat but have to say no one was fighting for that last bite. After spending a good chunk of time catching up and the calamari was long gone, salads came next. Most of us opted for a dinner salad which can be had for only 4 bucks with an entree order. The Caesar was tart, light and a crisp accompaniment to the pasta dishes. From there we were sorta left for 20 minutes here and 20 minutes there with little to no updates. It took nearly an hour to receive our entrees and a good while to clear the salad plates. In fact it took so long we were almost the last table still in the restaurant. I understand some things can take a while but a 50 minute wait can really test your patience. I ordered the Spaghetti Con Polpette Spaghetti with homemade marinara tomato sauce and meatballs. Talk about a stick to your ribs pasta dish! Very filling and a nice portion providing some leftovers. I have to say the spaghetti itself was served well beyond al dente but it worked. The meatballs were packed with flavor with the consistency of a good meatloaf, moist and very satisfying. We had pounded our fair share of bread waiting for our entrees so that probably accounted for me filling up so soon. All in all it was a good meal if not a seemingly unnecessarily prolonged dinner. Wow! Awesome first experience at Calabria. Server was really fun and knowledgeable with the perfect amount of attentiveness and space. Kids Mac was "mega bomb" according to my kids, my brothers Alfredo was spot on and my fettuccine boscaiola (sautéed mushrooms, artichoke hearts in a white cream sauce) with the addition of chicken was perfectly delightful. A lot of restaurants skimp when you add a protein which is tough when paying an extra $5-$12, but not Calabria. The chicken was plentiful! Tiramisu was awfully good as well. Thank you Yelpers for getting it so right about this place! A classy, comfortable dining room with a menu full of must-try's for a good price. The veal parmigiana was huge and the right amount of cheese, sauce and perfectly cooked veal. And the veggies were cooked but crunchy - just the way I like. Our waiter hustled the entire time and checked on us without being a pest. And then treated to a dessert on the house that was so rich and delicious, I brought half of it home for a second round about midnight. Don't get me wrong, I love Calabria but I was a little taken aback by our service at our last visit. Dinner was FABULOUS as always, the Filet, Seafood Spaghetti and Gorgonzola Pasta, wine and appetizers are always a 10++++++!!! What took me by surprise was the attitude of our server. We love to eat out and we tip well. Being told what our tips would be (she wrote the amounts on our receipts) because we were a party of 6+ and she would change the tip amounts because she had that right, was a slap in the face. We love treating our servers well but we do expect some service from them. We would appreciate our water to be filled up more than the 1-time at seating, seeing her more than at taking our orders for food or when she brought the food. She may have checked on our meals 1-more time before bringing our checks. We may have seen her 5-times during our 2.5-hour stay. We had reservations for a table of 8. 2-came early and did not even get service at the bar before our table was ready. It was a Saturday night at 7:00 p.m., the restaurant was not full but busy. Had dinner here with a party of nine. They knocked our socks off. Food was awesome for everyone and the server was super good. No problem handling a large party. Timing was good for everything. The steak with the Gorgonzola is not to be missed. The chicken with Gorgonzola sauce also awesome. Two people had Chicken Alfredo and said it was the best they ever had. Spaghetti and meatballs was good. I can't remember the other thing that was ordered but it was good. My guess is you can't go wrong if you order something you like. My wife had the Pollo Parmigiana, with chicken that was slightly undercooked. The look and taste of the breading also underscored the need for a longer fry. Wow! It's Valentine's day. We made a 7:30pm reservations and wasn't seated til 8:25pm. Understood, they overbooked, fine I get that. The menu was pre set and you JUST choose..ok..it took the waiter 42min to get our salad?!?! He then proceed to take a Full Order from the table next to us, NOT just there salad order but The whole order from first course to second course to third and desert..but after 42mins he just took our salad order and left and we co time to wait another 22mins for our salad only!!.. again..wow!! We have been there a couple of times but it had been a while. We decided to give it a try...never again. It was very hard to focus on dinner and having a nice conversation with my husband when all I could smell was the the smell of cigarettes from our waitress. My entree was actually very good, my husband's was not. His was nothing special. Wine was 50% off which was a nice plus. Overall it was a very forgettable experience and won't be back. What a disapointment! I've been going here for years and last night really let me down. Had a reservation, though cancelled and ordered to go as we had an illness in the family. Specifically ordered the Bistecca with Portabello mushrooms, which it always comes with. Got it home, no mushrooms, which is what really makes this steak a go to. Ordered one with vegetables and the other with pasta, received half the serving we have always gotten before, very sad. I understand inflatiion, and the fact that the price of this meal has gone up 20 percent since the last time I had this just the other month, but to have the serving quantity reduced makes no sense/$$. If I state with the portabello, and I'm not going to get it, tell me. Probably will not darken their door again, or at least for quite awhile if their still in business. Miss you mama read more

Don't ever try this restaurant for take out or DoorDash! I placed an order via DoorDash and 30 minutes later I was notified my order was cancelled by Calabria. I then attempted to call the restaurant and I just got a busy signal. I attempted to call them 27 times over the next half hour and received the same result. If you want to experience quality Italian food from a true mom and pop shop, this is the restaurant for you! My husband and I accidentally came upon this place while trying to get happy hour at our local sports bar that was too busy. We are so thankful to have finally found our new special date night spot! Their penne Calabria is to die for if you like a rich and cheesy pasta. My husband and I talk about it at least once a week. The customer service is exceptional and the atmosphere is very romantic. I'd recommend getting a reservation even if it's just for two people as the restaurant is small with few tables. We can't wait to go back! read more

I give 5 star to this restaurant for the following reasons: - Friendly service nice and professional server. - Good food Ok, I've gone there many times to make a comment about their food. Their Calabria sauce based penne, Parmesan Chicken, and tiramisu are FANTASTIC !!! I also think there are a bunch that are great but not orgasmic but hey, that's pretty awesome! Why? Appetizers, salads, soups, pasta, meat dishes are covered then! If there was a way to rate 4.5, that would have been my choice at the moment and here is why: - Pricing I mean, I get it, Seattle's COLA is rising and I see pricing points all going up in pretty much anywhere, and this is a nice little restaurant. And the volume of their food is generous enough so it's justifiable. But it's located in Everett/Mill Creek area and more of my wishful thinking that they are either a bit more economical or surprising in volume to differentiate them from others. (I do admit that I appreciate their free endless bread service ) - Fish meals In my opinion, they can give more kicks and deeper flavors to their fish dishes. I feel bad giving this restaurant 3 stars, because it was not bad at all. But it also wasn't great. The atmosphere is pretty casual. We waited awkwardly for a few minutes at the front to be seated. We sat in a cute little corner table. The laminated menu is a good indicator of the level of formality this restaurant holds. All the servers were wearing Seahawks gear and the the service was nothing but good. Friendly people. I ordered the Bowtie pasta with the smoked salmon in vodka sauce, boyfriend ordered the tortellini with some sort of ham in a white sauce. I asked if they use wild or farm salmon, and she claimed it was wild (I'm not sure). My pasta was good, but the capers are a little bit strong in the saltiness, so it was difficult to fully enjoy it. I also think it would've been tastier if the cream sauce was a bit thicker. The tortellini tasted very creamy and the cheese was smooth. Yummy stuff! And the pastas were very hot when they finally came out; found ourselves waiting for nearly half an hour and it wasn't even busy! There is nothing wrong with this business... the food was good, but the overall experience isn't 4-stars worth. I think they've done the best they can with the space they have, but the atmosphere is just too casual feeling for me to want to come here again for food that isn't amazing. Don't get me wrong, it was good! But at the end of the day, I did regret spending nearly $50 here for a dinner for two at such an average class restaurant. read more

I can't believe I just discovered this restaurant! The services was amazing, very knowledgeable and attentive. And the food was incredible! They source the most authentic ingredients for their pasta. I ordered the prawns and linguine which was delicious. Our table also ordered goat cheese bruschetta, veal, ham tortellini, and Gorgonzola penne. Everyone ate every last bite.
